hahaha....just having a bit of fun with some folks on this subject.

I received my email notification of shipping today so expect to have the parts in 4-5 days as they are shipping from CA to MD.

I'm not so sure there wasn't a change of plans. The initial replacement was specifically described to be in SS and did not show a screen attached to the part in the picture. And it was also supposed to ship within two weeks when they announced it. Then a month later, the picture and description changes on the S&B web site. So some of the customer early reactions and comments may very well have had an impact. In other words the outcry may have made the outcry seem overblown because it had an effect. Still any misconceptions could of easily been avoided with better communication from S&B.

Does the obsidian eventually fill the bags with water at all after continuous use? That was my only gripe with the original glass magma I have. I like the vapor but the bags filled up too quick with water and just cause too much of an issue for how much I vape.

The Obsidian fixes that issue. I checked my bags this morning and they are moisture free. I only fill up to the internal vents. The Obsidian has a fill line with Obsidian logo on the glass. Lately, I hit the Obsidian with out the bag or whip by setting the Hybrid on a coffee table in front of me. You can do this with or with out water in the Obsidian or Magma. The vapour is that smooth and delicious.:brow:

My shipping notice contained no details about the contents, just a tracking number from stamps.com

Also not sure I managed to get added on the list for a replacement capsule adapter, it would of been nice if there was a web page to register for it rather than needing to send a request to their support with a copy of the invoice from their own store and getting no confirmation except for the generic confirmation of reception of the email.

I wish they would have answered me when I asked about the reducer chamber. Hopefully they will send that to me as well.

I asked them per email if the new capsule adapter will be in the box?! They answered that it will be. I sent them a foto of my original one earlier.

Got my replacement parts this morning. No dosing capsule reducer :(

I sent them my order# and copy of invoice for the reducer the day after they started taking replacement request for the main chamber & ring. Which is silly, since I bought it directly from them at the same time as the Hybrid, but whatever...

So, I'll be sending them another email to ask about when to expect the updated reducer. I'll post back in a few weeks when they reply. :rolleyes:

They tend to quickly read over our emails and don't always understand the request. I must of sent about 7 emails about getting a replacement dosing capsule adapter I had bought from them on the 2nd of January. Among the replies I got:
  • Please send us a photo or a copy of the invoice (even though I had given them the invoice number from their own web store and said to ship it at the same address).
  • When I replied with the invoice I got no reply.
  • I re-sent a new request a week later. Then the reply was that I need to register for the heating chamber service on the support page link.
  • I replied, that it wasn't the standard heating chamber I was asking for and that I had already done that. Then got no reply back.
  • I re-issued with the shortest text possible and the invoice pdf and all they would need while trying to make sure they couldn't make the same mistakes as in previous emails (not easy, since the longer the email the more chance for misreads).
  • They replied they were sorry, but the item I had ordered on that invoice was in fact in low supply and that it would automatically ship when they would have it in stock (clearly they thought I was asking why I hadn't yet received it from the order, but I had received it around the 12th of January and even had that in the email. So my last answer was sort of: don't worry it's just B/O and we need to do nothing but wait.
  • So I re-sent a new request yesterday to try and clear that up again.
Since mid-Jan, I send an email about for the dosing capsule adapter each week... I either am confused myself and will receive half a dozen capsule adapters, or they are confused and I will get none. Though the last email I sent does point out that this is the 7th time I've tried to explain this and that they unfortunately keep misreading my request.

I suspect that the reply you got about the new capsule adapter being in the box, might of been read as will the new heating chamber be in the box (with the insert). I know that interpretation makes no sense, yet...

I considered the same approach of coated aluminum for building one of my vaporizer concepts, from my research on these coatings they all seem to flake off eventually; the cookware industry has been trying to find a solution to this for decades.

The California branch replied in email regarding the dosing chamber:
“We apologize for the holdup – however the reducer is currently low in stock and a delivery delay is expected.You will receive an email with the tracking info when the part ships. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.”

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had to resend pictures, didn't have questions answered and ultimately have no idea where they stand :lol:

I'm glad the new adapters are being well received at least. Let's just hope COVID-19 doesn't mess with the supply change in the mean time.

I equate those who say they will never buy S&B again to people who also don't buy Samsung (exploding battery) and Apple (bending & slowing down iphones) anymore. This logic doesn't hold up, only thing that is up is the pitchforks.

Just because a large cooperation had one oversight is not the end of the world, people over-reacting as per usual. No one is dead no one is ACTUALLY reporting any health problems. lmao

Although you’re happy, is it possible you’ll want the “new” model if it changes in production?

So far so good for me. I'm still stuck with a crappy housing unit until my new one comes in the mail.

But even when the new chamber falls out of the clips I can pick it up easy and the temp is quite a bit cooler than the old one.

The old one used to get hotter than shit so there is a HUGE IMPROVEMENT.

They need to redesign the housing unit now though so it fits better. It doesn't screw on as easy anymore and sometimes just kind of sits loose. Other than that though I would have to say I am satisfied.

It's cooler? That must mean the conduction heating isn't as strong with the new bowl which is good for housings, more so with the newer improved housings. Does that affect (positively) the taste?
