Anything worth doing, is worth overdoing.
I also wanted to give a plug to DDave for his DV replacement screens.

I had been using the CCD that came with my new SS tip. When attached to a glass stem you could see all the bits of herb that lined the walls along with the reclaim. I replaced the CCD with one of Dave's SS screens. After a week or two you can see the glass wall of the stem lined with lovely clean reclaim and no shit.

Also the screens pop in and out easily and stay put. When I tried to take the Dynavap CCD out with a chopstick, the damn thing bent in half rather than released.

People talk about the DD screens providing less resistance than the CCD's. This I have not noticed, but I find the airflow to be pretty decent for mouthpulls with the carb covered.

With a Ti Vortex, could anyone tell me the difference between using a SS tip vs. a Ti tip with it? I'm not sure if I want to spend the extra money on a tip and cap when I could put that extra money toward custom anodization, or if I should just save up so I can use my 19M with a dynacoil and just have two VCs.

I believe the only differences are the TI heats up and cools down quicker. Also, you can anodize Ti?

Got my Caldron and it’s looking good! I really am curious about 18M vs 19M. I sold my 18M for the 19M.

I really really really enjoyed the 18M without using the airport. It was great! The 19M without the carb covered is much more wide open? And when it’s closed it’s much more than the 18M without the carb covered?

How tight do you pack the 19M? I just realized, I hate playing with the carb! I really enjoyed the 18M airflow straight up! Any opinion would be appreciated!

One out of a doze-n people, perhaps, :2c: :)

My clutter of a room is a FFZ (Fire Free Zone). YMMV

Do you have a favorite out of those three?

Can you order glass in-country. Local head shop. Or custom made?

Options. Options.

What's available in the head shops over here is rather limited, and the prices are often absurd. Custom made sounds like a neat idea, could do a limited run and on sell the extras. :)

I used my 18 airport closed 80% of the time. With my 19 it's closed 95%. Puff puff.
The 19 does draw easier for sure. Troy aka 420vapezone has a vid that compares the 18 vs 19.

How tight to pack? Depends on my mood and the quality of the blessed herb.

Fine ground quarter way full.
Medium chop packed to the top.
Whole nugs large or small.
You know the truth.
I'll take them all.

PSM is a (large) portable; the other two are corded.

For EDC, I use the PSM ( wish Pipes would make a smaller version ); house bound, plug ins.

I like all IH.

Am a fanboy of color, an early Crossfires IH

To make them sturdy, would suggest the walls be a minimum of 2mm.
HMU, I’ll be happy to buy a couple.

Posted your pic 4U @grogazola

Thank you, @stark1!

Loving this thing but I want to know how far past the click can I go using an IH? I went pretty far with my butane on my old vapcap...

Can I “damage” the cap by keeping it my induction heater for five or even ten seconds past the click (provided I don’t combust)? Looking for those roasted rips!!

Edit - why does dynavap say overheating will damage the cap? like from soot? or will the discs change shape and not click?

I remember a discussion about this a while back...too much heat will change the properties of the bimetallic discs that are used. Makes sense, as too much heat changes properties in almost all finished metals, especially alloys.

Makes sense! I forgot about good old double heating. As in, heating for four seconds, stopping for two, heating til a little past click seems to work well.

Really enjoying the Caldron. Really frees me up to use a water pipe easily. I have my 19M connected to a little 10mm (f) < 14mm (m) adapter and it really milks up my two foot bongs! It’s crazy! Maybe I’ll take a video!

My 18M wouldn’t seal well to my adapter and wouldn’t milk up a bong. But the 19M with carb management can literally milk up a giant piece!? 18M without any carb management absolutely rips without any water though...may have to get another 18M...:science:

...and the alumina tube came today. The OD is more like 7.2 to 7.4mm but the ID is 5mm on the nose. That means the 8mm ID tubes I mentioned before should work out of the box. Always worth asking. This one also had a pink stain so queries have been sent on what the heck is a pink dot doing on my pristine white stem? Now to shrink some FQ to make a new stem.

If you do order some goodies (M-18), I suggest adding a couple of “fat mouthpieces” for the same
Postage; whiile ugli, they work well as a seal for H2O experiments. Used to be 2/1$, now 2$/1.

Now I know where the alumina tubes are coming from. I contacted the seller and asked if I could get tubes without pink stains. Turns out they all have stains. That means these offerings were die checked and failed. I can work with this one but in general, that is not a quality part. I'll remove any recommendation for eBay supplier giorgio...

I got into contact with Dynavap earlier and they say that overheating your cap isn’t a good idea. You’ll mess with the “thermostat” and even though you may not notice it now it could incrementally get worse. That would not be covered under warranty I believe.

However, an IH is really consistent and you won’t be harming yourself by taking the cap past three seconds with an Induction Heater. Who knows what could happen with a torch.

On another note, I find it weird that the 19M has “improved airflow.” The airflow in the 18M was raw perfect. With the 19M you need to rock it to get sips of cool air mixed in? The 18M is just balanced right out of the box? In other words, the 19M has improved airflow when the carb is closed...? Difference strokes? Curious what everyone’s preferences are!

I think I asked this before but don't recall any answers. Those using Dynacoils, do you prefer them with Steel or Ti tips? And why is the preferred method to remove the CCD? I would think it might discourage anything from getting past the tip into the condenser (like crumble).
