I have a Lucid IH who is making the being sold on DV's site. Mine is a Mini (apparently no longer made) with batteries. Love the IH, the electronics and induction are spot on. Battery life sucks and in mine the batteries are not easily accessible.

I ordered a Flux yesterday...well, I got on the six month wait list....I mean, why not...I might not even still be around in six months. I ordered it with batteries (three 18650's) and the analog circuit. Some day, maybe it will come.

I rather wish that DV and Lucid did some real engineering. Its not beyond...well, pretty much any decent electrical engineer (which I am not)..... to design a full pass through system so you can go with either plug and dead batteries or just batteries. I'm just a bit disappointing that DV chose to pluck the low hanging fruit rather than take on all of the challenges in developing what an IH should be. And yes, IMO they had the time to do it given when they started touting an IH. Just my opinion.

I may get one just to have plug in.

To me, the VC took on a new life with IH. I can operate a torch lighter well with the VCs, but far, far, far prefer the IH.

...and...period.

DV is making these gorgeous tips and caps. Their development is DV's business. For stems and bodies look at the offers of all the awesome aftermarket makers like phatt, Simrell, Stardustsailor and many more not to call. DV's design and woods can't keep up with theirs. And IH? There are so many well developed and proven IH out there why desperately waiting for the DV one?

Loyalty. Loyalty trumps diverse others in the marketplace.

Imagine having a portable induction heater, with DynaVap stamped all over it.

Budget minded as I am, I wouldn’t mind forking out the monies for one.

I think a plug-in Induction Heater is a must have for heavy users like me who remain in one location most of the day. Dynavap's IH looks great and I would have considered it if I didnt already have a Jarhead from @Pipes already, which is also a great option (with awesome customer support may I add). A plug in unit is also nice for someone just getting into Dynavap because of its ease of use, and a more affordable option compared to a portable unit. Im personally looking into getting a portable IH, but I know Id still be using my Plug-in unit 90% of the time.

Those who expected the portable travel mug style that was teased for months may be a little saddened that it was not released, but we should understand that the creation of an IH is a big jump in a new direction for Dynavap; a company that has been trying to avoid batteries and plugs since inception. There is a lot of inherent risks involved when manufacturing technology for mass production, especially compared to smaller independent developers who work on a much slower and smaller scale. It's clear they are doing this to please their customers, and so far their current offering looks great and Im eager to see their future offerings.

I love my JarHead so I am not really in the market for a plugin. But has anyone else built their own circuit board for their IH? I know @Pipes has talked about the inconsistencies in the off the shelf boards he has been using and failures of some of the chips. I suspect Chris is not having these problems. I like his approach, and because he is building them this way he feels comfortable warranting them for a year which others really can't (or wont) do. I like that too.

Like I say I like my plugin very much, but I look forward to seeing his portable when it arrives and if it isn't too cost prohibitive I suspect it will be the one I buy. Time will tell...

Just another "Person Of Interest"
The Flux Deluxe has their own custom circuit board.

I believe it was also mentioned earlier that @Pipes basically tears his apart and RE-does them because of the issues he noticed with Chinese parts.

I've never actually opened my cauldron and looked at the inside, but it's worked absolutely flawlessly since the first day I plugged it in.

I keep meaning to take it apart and give it an ever so slight cleaning inside because it gets used in an environment with dust and cat dander in the area, but it just hasn't seemed that necessary, yet. lol

Happy Vaping! :leaf:

Thanks. I see that now after having gone to his site. He shows a lot of detail there which is nice. I didn't see anything about warranty. Did I just miss it?
It looks very cool, but I don't think I have the patience to wait 6 months from order.

You don't order one initially, you just get on the waiting list. He sends an email when you're in the next batch. You pick your options and pay at that time. IIRC he said around half are ordering when he contacts them but he's still got a lot of names to work through.

My friend, I appreciate loyalty very much. Unfortunately a vanishing virtue these days.
But as I already said in the past, I hate brand logos in general. And while living in an illegal country the last I want to have is a possible stealth enclosure with fat brand logos of a well-known canna related company on it.
