Just another "Person Of Interest"

Funny thing about that, is Dyna STARTED OUT using glass stems and condensers. lol

So many people cried that they looked like crack pipes that they started making wood and metal ones and phased out the glass.

Now we all go out of our way to find or make glass, and add glass beads, and glass accessories, the works. lol

Things really DO come full circle! LMFAO

Happy Vaping!

I just purchased the "m" 2019 first vapcap for me. What lighter do you recommend for a newbie and why?
George recommends a triple or quad for beginners because you can get a good even roast and less chance of combusting. I like the Vertigo cyclone triple, though some have had issues with theirs.
You want to heat in the lighter-colored “ghost” flame, not in the bright blue part.
There’s a whole thread on lighters/torches that is worth reading

Hey guys, first post here, although I've probably read the last 300 pages of this thread over the last few weeks!

I recently made the move to full vapourisation. I did own a Solo since 2016 but rarely used it, decided to take the plunge and bought a Mighty and a Nonavong the other week. Absolutely loving the Mighty, it truly is a beast. Not as sold on the Dyna, but I'm thinking that has a lot to do with my tolerance at this point.

I've got a question for any Dynacoil users... I grabbed one of these as well, and it's my first real experience with concentrates. I ran a 0.5 of some live resin through it, to varying effects, but I just never really managed to get the amount of taste/vapour I was expecting. I grabbed some shatter the other day, and I'm really struggling to get anything decent, whether it be taste or vapour. I can taste the hit, and see a small amount of vapour, but compared to some of the YouTubers I watch, it doesn't seem anywhere near as impressive. I normally pre-heat, and then melt a little bit into the coil, although I have been loading more and more, chasing the hit. Once loaded, I'll heat at the bottom of the cap, with it touching the top of the pale, secondary blue flame from my single flame torch lighter. I'll normally go a second or so after the second click, but recently I've been going as long as 5 seconds, just trying to get a nice hit, but nothing. It's like the shatter just evaporates before I even hit it.

Could it be my heating technique? I haven't yet cleaned the coil, aside from a quick blast with an iso wipe, so it does have the remnants of a .5g of live resin, but even when I was using that, I still wasn't managing to get the hits I thought I would. This was some Exodus Cheese live resin, which stunk my house out as soon as I opened it, so to then only get minimal taste/vapour on a new coil... I've tried it through water, and it's pointless as I'm getting such a little cloud. I've been smoking flower for a good 8 years or so, and I've got a high tolerance, but due to this being my first experience with pure concentrates, I feel like I should be feeling it more as well, which is lending credence to my thoughts that I'm not getting good hits...? Could my cap already be a little dodgy? I've honestly read through a lot of this thread, I've searched Reddit/YouTube, but to no avail. I have read about people having issues getting to grips with it, but it seems no matter what I try I can't get good hits. I have tried heating all over the coil, a lot more flavour at the top but pretty much zero visible vapour/feeling, but I'm really looking for the bigger hits. I want to love this device, but I'm struggling right now, and maybe thinking I should be looking elsewhere, at least for concentrates...

Apologises for the rambling post, and thanks to anyone that bothers to read it!

EDIT: I should say I use a separate SS tip for the coil, and keep my TI for flower.

@kyeovo are you able to produce big clouds with flower in your Dyna? Is that .5 a half gram? Thats a lot of oil. Are you keeping your screen in?

I might clean the entire thing and try and start over. It is recommended to use about a grain of rice size dab. Dont melt it in just wipe around the edges. Your heating technique sounds right.

I made this video but it sounds like you are doing these things.

Let us know if anything helps

Joining the fray as a new vapcaper. I've been watching this device for a long time as an alternative / replacement to my battery dependent devices. Picked up a 2018 M although I'm already rethinking that decison and wondering if my local shop has OG Chillums. Maybe I should have just bought a tip and cap but I guess you need something to compare to. Looking at picking up glass cooling beads from Vape Critic and screens from DDave, anything I missed? See you all after the click.

I've been in the same boat, I stated vaping in Feb. and still combust when I need that slam. It took a learning curve, watch everything you can on youtube. the big change for me was the induction heater, I haven't looked back. I couldn't get any consistency out of the torch plus it bothered my hands. arthritis. with the IH every click is the same, every hit is right on. I don't use anything else but my vapcap 90% of the time. hang in because when you get it, you'll love it. i'm still struggling with the coil. when I have to, I get out my Linx Blaze, but i'll figure out the coil

@RogueGuy Cheers for that video dude, it actually helped, especially being able to see how you load your coil! Yeah, the .5g is half a gram, obviously not all in one go, but in total, so I wasn't sure if that's enough to really gunk up the coil... I definitely tried using less than you, but due to the non-hits I was quickly trying dabs the same size. However, we do a couple of things different, so it's certainly worth a try! I always heat my device holding it vertical, maybe leaning slightly, both with concentrates and flower, so I can give heating the device horizontally a go instead. I also did take the screen out my SS tip I use for my coil, so I'll give it a shot with the screen back in the tip. Cheers mate, a couple of things I can try there!

@DEZISDAD Aye, it's been tough, but I got to the point where I was spending so much money on smoking, and not enough getting an enjoyable experience! The Mighty has made my transition a LOT easier, I adore it, but I really want to love my Nonavong, especially due to the different uses it has when compared to the Mighty. I've seen a lot of posts about an IH, but always just passed it off as a luxury, but maybe it's the next logical step...

hi what was it about the M that you did not like...that makes you look to using a chillum instead?

Personally, getting the xl condenser and mouthpiece for my M was a huge upgrade. Makes it so much easier to spin and the extra few mm somehow help cool vapor. A more expensive option that is the biggest game changer is an IH.
Oh and welcome to the fray @CastIronHits !

I agree totally with the xl condenser/mouthpiece upgrade. These are the 2 VCs I use; a Ti setup, and a SS set up...with acetal mouthpieces The M is the '17 version, the Ti is the longer stem version.

I have been messing around with this hack for @danielj's stem and for the Dynavap stems. It allows you to have an adjustable "Airport" with the spinning MP. Plus its just kind of fun. I'll have a video soon.

we've been calling it the Trombone. Dave discovered it...I gave it the name. frolicing adult fun insued! Not sure my stems are old enough to be doing that...
