Well @Wired , as this is your first post ever, there arises a suspicion you may be associated with the device itself. I'm am a gadget guy and I would like something like this. If you are associated with this, there is a "legal" way to introduce this in this forum. This way seems a bit scurrilous. You could be the next blood sample machine.

Thanks for the welcome. I came to this site off of a Google search while researching the Tcheck. Turned out to be only some vague references so I searched this forum and found nothing. I thought this would be a good a place as any to ask the question, so I did. Not affiliated with the thing in any way, whether you choose to believe that or not is up to you. Fact is I am a gadget guy too and I want this, but I am trying to find someone with real-world experience first before I cough up three hundred bucks. If this is the wrong forum for that just tell me and I will happily go post elsewhere. I was just hoping someone here might have one.

Not really sure what the blood sample reference means

Welcome, @Wiired . It's a great question, and I wish I had an answer.

Im thinking about buying the tcheck portable potency tester, as I make a lot if oils and tinctures. Has anyone played with it yet? From what I read, it seems to do what I want. Just wondering if anyone has experience with it?

Roughly four years ago I was a member of a growers forum. Several growers became early adaptors when it came out. All were disappointed. I see now there's a tcheck 2. While I havnt heard any more about it in these years, but I'd be cautious before I spent much on one.

It is a great idea though.

It's "The Cranky Old Man" reference. I'd be surprised if I got it right. You know, the lady that scammed Wall Street about a machine that could diagnose blood..... on 60 Minutes the other night (senior fare, for sure).

I did some googling after your reference, and this version 2 has its detractors as far as flower, but good for tincture or infusion at liquid state. Maybe I'll pick one up if there is a 4-20 sale. They have been selling this device for a while (2016?), and the previous version has some love and some hate.

Have I bought some stupid stuff over the years? I don't have to answer that. And really, you only remember the really stupid stuff, but when there is so much to pick from, it's overwhelming

I too got to briefly (only once) play with the original tcheck that belonged to someone else maybe 4 or 5 years ago. From what I saw it appeared to work but I was never able to find one for sale. I noticed the new version like early last year sometime but it has been on back order forever. Outside of a (very) few web reviews, I cant seem to get much as to a real owner's opinion.

The company you speak of was Theranos and the woman's name is Elizabeth Holmes.

This Thc checker makes me think of the "paraquat testing" machine from Dr. Carlton Turner in the 1970's.
For a fun read check out the wiki on Turner and see how he went from trying to sell some shitty machine to test cannabis to becoming one of the fucks we can thank for drug tests not to mention how much he has fought against anyhting pro-cannabis for YEARS.

Sounds like you'll have to jump in and get it, or wait until more people have tried it to get feedback. If it's on back order, it might be awhile for both options. You seem to have faith in it, so I hope it works for you. I have no use for it, but am always happy to find something I don't want to buy. That way, when I do buy something I get to feel discerning and not like such a greedy piggie. I look forward to seeing you on the rest of the forum, or is this your only interest?

Yeah I'll probably end up shelling out and cross my fingers. It certainly won't be the first $300 I have wasted and it certainly won't be the last. Just noticed the "allow 8 weeks for shipping" part..
This isn't my only interest, Im poking around a bit

My guess is...........we do not.
Now, @arb, you know I don't know what it is, or what it does. I might want to check potency...why take chances? No point leaving something like that to the last minute. I need something simple. More of a yes or no, than a percent type thing.
If it's not potent enough, what do you do? It's not like you can regrow it. It's done. That's what there is.
So, maybe I don't need it. Not Need need it, but I could be persuaded. Not easy with my fine judgement and limited bank account, but it might be possible. Or not. I'm pretty broke, and what if my herb fails? Then I would know, I have week weed. That would be depressing. Nothing you can do. It's grown.
