So I have been busy with getting a patent started for my clips and trademarking my brand. Been a lot of mental work to get it going and I am beyond excited to get the ball rolling on the legal side of things to protect my clips and such =)

I have also been working on getting samples from a new manufacturer that looks like they could do even better work than my current manufacturer and am waiting on samples to test before deciding on making a small order

Also Chinese holiday is starting next week and this means that anything happening in China is going to be put on hold until they get back from holiday and this is around the middle of February that they will be back and filling orders. I have been working on making sure I get coils and bangers before they go on holiday and am expecting more of both later this week or early next week.

I have added some stock to the coils and any of these ordered will ship as soon as the coils land

Just wanted to drop an update on what I have been up to lately and what I am working on =)

I hope everyone is having a great start to the week

They don't have Shane's stuff on the website yet, they just had a post on IG about it. The post said they'd be selling the coil and banger starting at $125. Slightly more expensive than from Shane directly.

But it gets his name out there to tons of more people, which is obviously a good thing. Nothing wrong with a collab! I'm sure some people will then seek out Shane directly.

Maybe Shane will start stocking a few rubies and sapphires? It just gives people more options, and they can get things all in one place if they so chose.
If Shane had rubies and sapphire inserts or balls i would definitely buy them! Hes awesome to deal with and has the best customer service ive ever experienced.

Praise Shane för his loyality and his high ethics! Yep, bro, try to get SiC, rubies, and sapphires directly at the manufacturers. CG seems to be a good example how prices are made in this business. And they currently are the cheapest (!) at the market. Should not to be a problem for you to get the cheapest vendor at this market yourself without losing too much profit.

My Banger is hanging, somewhere. Can't complain. Such things can happen.

Oh dear God, you don't even know!? You don't know where you Banger is hanging!?? With all the abuse you've been giving it, I hope it didn't hang itself. Or worse, end it all by drowning in ISO!

You Sick Vape(orist)! ;):D

Using so many q-tips has been bothering me, I'm definitely going to see about using the inserts and then cleaning them right after. I haven't really been using them much for some reason, need to try them out some more.

I have now officially completely eliminated q-tips! I have a shot glass 1/2 full of 99% ISO (Costco) and another with just plain water. Immediately after my dab i'll use the straight tweezers to remove the opaque insert and single pearl, drop it in the ISO, and like magic it comes out like new. I soak it in the shot glass with plain water for a few seconds, and then I used a tiny piece of paper towel to dry.

Every single dab gets a squeeky clean opaque surface, and i'm saving a pretty good amount of qtips, at the expense of only 1/2 shotglass of ISO per day!

I tried out the non-slit opaque bottom bangers and am enjoying them more than I did last time. It just takes so many more draws which I think is what made me not enjoy it so much the first time. I do feel like I got more vapor and stronger effects from doing it this way, I need to try some more tonight and see if I feel the same way. I definitely prefer the non-slit bangers, I like not worrying about where the slit is facing dropping it in and using the bubble cap. I don't really feel like the material ever goes that high either, maybe less heat retention or something else science-y? One major positive, the banger is spotless.

Are people using terp pearls in their inserts?

@StormyPinkness Are you using drop tech or dabbing with the insert already in place? If it's drop tech/uptemp there is potentially different science going on with THC conversion to THCa vs the static temp dabs that flash vaporize a bunch of compounds and maybe create larger amounts of CBN? Something to think about and experiment with.

Totally agree with you on everything you said about non slitted inserts. What Shane really needs to get next is FULL OPAQUE inserts! I'm surprised they aren't more common/popular although I think they are all over the Gate.

I use a single 6mm pearl in my opaque dish insert... clear quartz, upgrading next week to ruby. I still think it tastes better without the pearl, but surely doesn't vape up as fast.

I'm loading it up then dropping it in, my banger is already opaque so I figured that wouldn't add anything to the experience besides keeping the banger clean. I'll have to see how it vapes banger vs insert without dropping it in too.

I would love to buy some full opaque inserts from @710Coils too, also want to try sapphire.

@SamuraiSam How thick is the bottom of the sauce jar? I've tried that exact same technique with the 4mm opaque insert, and although it was an attempt to emulate the torch, I just couldn't get it there. Not even close, everything was just too slow. Heating up 4mm of opaque via conduction and radiant heat takes some good energy.

Would you be able to try the tech with an opaque insert and see how it compares to your sauce jar?
The sauce jars are a somewhat uniform ~1-1.5mm thickness. (I just mean the bottom isn't any thicker) I think they are borosilicate glass- higher K value so they should heat faster than quartz. And of course are thinner. Opaque quartz inserts must be the worst possible thing for drop in tech IMO. I do not own one myself so I can't do try my tech on your insert- but you can! FWIW if I had a quartz insert I'd probably leave it in the banger before applying the dab. It'd be easier to clean than a frit bottom banger with a coil wrapped on it, by using tweezers to take it out after each dab and then using the carwash tech others are doing here.

This is my current cold insert drop tech.
rdk-300, 30mm axial coil, 30mm clear banger, clear slotted insert, 6mm pearl, headshop bubblecap.
Drop the preloaded insert at 535 and while capped, wait to start pulling until coil temp has returned to 535. Heat up takes about 40-60 seconds.
I'd like to try lower temps later but have to be an adult for a while.

Questions about ISO bath with inserts...
What percentage ISO are you using? What do you keep the ISO in? How long do you let it soak? Air dry or ?

I'd like to cut down on the amount of Q Tips I use, apologies for the onslaught on questions
For me, the really long heat up lead to quite a bit of premature terpene evaporation and degradation. I get a lot better flavor on the first pull by minimizing the heat up times to ~10 seconds with a greater deltaT. I dont find the flavor on the second and later pulls to be all that good no matter what uptemp quartz tech I use- straight on the banger or with an insert or whatever. Quartz usually only delivers 1-2 tasty rips for me.

HI Sam - cool idea....but I only have 25 mm bangers! haha So, you still at ECC? Doing well? Good to hear from you.

@710Coils - Hi Shane, this thread moves so fast I haven't had time to keep up with it but I am surely continuing to use and enjoy my 25 mm bangers. Use the opaque really with the clear in on-deck position.

I don't use the inserts I have as...well, I'm lazy and like it simple. I'm getting good, very clean, regulated and tested concentrates in my med legal state now and I just dab them right on the surface to very good results.

Please give your bride my warmest best wishes.

Cheers
Heya Baron! I actually left ECC at the end of last year. Looking to do a little bit... more... with bigger opportunities on the horizon.

Constant Gems wanted to purchase some stuff from me for their site. I did not realize how expensive they were going to sell it at and will most likely not be selling them more of my gear due to this. Who the hell pays 125.00 for an axial coil????? It looks like he has only slightly marked my gear up and is selling them as sets. So I guess we will see how he does and go from there

I have done a considerable amount of learning as I have been on this path and so far the main things have been

1: No one cares about customer service and so no one offers it since they consider it a waste of time
2: Most have no qualms selling something for an insane amount more than you do and think its acceptable business practices
3: Deny all ownership of issues unless the customer is pushing hard. Never give up stock unless you utterly have to. Every dollar is a confirmation that its ok to be underhanded

I guess the reason I am doing so well is the fact I deny to follow the above standards other companies have set as the norm. Makes me proud of my morals, but also very sad that its such a hard thing for other companies to care enough to think of things long term and not just about the moment

I apologize for my ranting, I just have been shocked about what companies consider the acceptable standard for their customers and products

Your ever loyal coil and quartz monger

Shane
Is it $125 for a coil and banger set? If so that's not.. too bad... of a markup, is it?

All I get now is SiC balls.
Where do you get those Silicon Carbide balls at?

For an e-nail I agree...waaaay too slow...but with a Blazer Big Shot... night and day difference IME. I get vaporization within 10s after dropping. I look forward to testing and comparing with Sapphire insert dabs next week to declare what will be the winner!! :)

Has anyone tried running one of the axial coils on any American quartz ? Was the fit as good? Nothing against the import bangers i love mine and I’ll still probably use that most of the time. I’d just like to have one American one in the arsenal, and ideally I’d like to have the option of using it with these amazing coils.

I put a 30mm axial on my Mac Eleven Glass mop bucket. And it's awesome. I like it because my bubble caps have a shorter stem and the shorter depth of this bucket works better with them. I really like the extra wraps of this coil with the Mopbucket. It's a big upgrade from the Augusthaus coil I used on this bucket prior.

She did need a little adjustment to loosen it up to fit over this slightly larger OD banger, and it was easy to do by following the tips and tricks Shane shared.

And I've just realized my clips are a little close to the coil for comfort and I think I can relocate 'em... The games continue!

@Kanna_Kult I can send you a few more. I have found sliding the clip up on the neck to be easier to taking the clip off than trying near the curve. Shoot me a message with your last order number and I will send more out today =)
Thats the kind of customer service im talking about! its simply amazing! Btw any word if ur gonna be getting some special 30mm liger axial coils? :)
