Discontinued miVape by Vaporfection

It's an obsession but it's pleasin'
I do not want to disparage anyone or any vape, however, I recently asked someone from a well known vape store about the mivape.

In response I was told they had a 100% return rate.
Huh. I think that # is closer to 99.99% ;)

I think I'm on my third unit. I've had it a good long while now and have been using it as a daily driver lately. It seems to be working flawlessly. Once I get my Grasshoppers, though, I think I'll be passing it along.

It's a real shame. So much about this vape is good. Seems like a single (albeit major) design decision - the mouthpiece - doomed the miVape to be a bleeding-edge casualty.

Oh well.

So here's a little bit of news: According to this publicly filed Form 10-K, Vaporfection was sold to a new parent company in Q1 2016. Don't know what, if anything, that means for any remaining miVape users.

I didn't know any of these manufacturers were public companies!

I have emailed Vaporfection to ask about the fate of the second gen mouthpiece. We'll see what happens.

Just so Dab HAppy!
For those that don't want to go searching the document, here is the excerpt @moondog was kind enough to summarize for us that references Vaporfection:

"We also sell a line of portable vaporizers and accessories under the brand name Vaporfection. In January 2016, we decided to exit the
portable vaporizer business in 2016 so that the Company can more aggressively pursue additional business opportunities in its core cannabis business.
On March 25, 2016 we sold our assets in Vaporfection for $70,000, which is payable $35,000 upon the sale and $35,000 was loaned to the buyer under
a 6% note payable due September 30, 2016."

Never received a reply to my email of 8/13.

Oh, well...
That's a pain this company doesn't exist anymore cause it was a part of vaporizer history, I own a miVape which is not ideal for flowers although it works very well for concentrates, it is my concentrates&convective DD....I'm not assuming it is perfect (that's not) but it offers to me a great experience while loaded with my rosin in a cotton ball!

too bad about vaporfection.....they had potential but the miVape needed a lot of work to be all it could be. Wish they came out with a miVape 2 and a new glass mouthpiece

I recently received a Firewood 4 vaporizer and I tried the Firewood 4 Cooling Top with the FW4 Capsule inside of the Mivape and it was quite amazing! The FW4 Capsules fit the miVape chamber perfectly and they feature a open bottom with a screen, so they don't get super hot on the bottom like the miVape Cups, causing black ABV in areas and the open bottom pulls in more Convection heat, for more even extractions and airflow. I had more vapor, better tasting vapor and much more even extractions with the FW4 Capsule system. The FW4 Cooling top also fits the miVape when the lid is open but it's too big to pack it away inside the miVape like the stock mouthpiece. I hope there are some miVape users out there that can give this a shot, it really works great and allows you to actually clean the mouthpiece when it gets dirty.

Found a better mod for my Mivape!

I use a SS bullet style bowl (not from the Pinnacle but similar in shape, I don't know if it's the same size) with plain wall and holes on the bottom. It fit tight enough the heater's silicon rings so you can adjust the distance to place the "bullet" not too close of the bottom to avoid overheating.

A glass stem with a tiny piece of silicone tubing around fits tight in the capsule (with a screen on the top of the load between the stem and the flowers). So I load my "bullet" , put the screen and the glass stem and place everything in the right position (it depends what I vape and what I'm looking for), I can close the top lid and only a few centimeters of the stem outweight.

With this mod it's a true good vape imo , solid thick vapor and best taste around 330°F

I have to update my last post here, this SS bullet mod is trully amazing for true microdosing, set temp at 290-300 and load a so small amount my 0.1g scale can't detect, add a top screen as a filterand to keep the load in place and finally the glass stem... You'll get around 4-5 hits, and so much vapor from a so tiny load is impressive, I can fog my room with something most will not care about. I have to mention the abv was fully dark brown but no combustion at all!

It's a shame miVape didn't investigate more and try to rebound. Despite a lot of issues the miVape is working very well with concentrates (all sort), flowers microdose, is still woprking after a few years with the same battery and I continue to appreciate to use it at home mainly but outdoors too.

That's great to hear man. I still have my original vaporfection base unit and use it from time to time. Lenny was great when he was running operations, but once he and his uncle got into a fight over the business, it just went all downhill so quickly for these guys. Truly a shame because the concept was there, just needed proper assets to make manufacturing not as lengthy, cost heavy.
