Is THC-A the smallest element, the only one that fits thru 25u?

That would be awesome for those that currently eat raw cannabis "salad/smoothie/etc" to get their THC-A.

I wonder if THC-V slips thru with the -A ? It's tough to find strains with THC-V (for most of us).
Love to find THC-V isolate.

The way I understand it. THC-A is crystalline in it's purest form, so warming up the rosin very slowly causes the less viscous components in rosin to flow out through the fine 25u filter, and as the THC-A crystals begin to form in this process, they get trapped inside the 25u filter as they have grown too large to expel out. Once that occurs, you simply keep pressing over and over at higher temperatures each time until you gently have pressed out all of the rosin except for the THC-A that has been trapped inside the 25u filter.

Since we are never pressing the rosin at a temperature/time that causes much, if any, decarboxylation, the THC-A never converts to THC (this is not crystalline, which is why rosin that's been fully decarboxylated is now runny and no longer stable)

I have been reading up on rosin bags. My silkscreen cloth is polyester. OK, for filtering and a little higher melting point than nylon but it does bit have the strength. Perhaps that's why I'm bursting. And, perhaps that's why they work fine for filtering but not for bottle tek.

DabPress said they are sending stock to the US warehouse so we should be able to order on Amazon real soon.

EDIT: Oh shit, I just listened to it and both soundtracks are playing. LMAO Strike 3. LOL

Best thing to do is use live music, youtube's filters wont catch most of it unless they released it through their studio.

I just did another run of that truth's sister, this time 5g in a bottle tech bag and yielded 0.985gr, so another 19.7% at 190F for 2m using about 3.1 tons (1.75" pressed puck). That was the same yields I got when I ran it at 3.5g in the same filter with 3 tons, This time I had about 2 grams of really nice tops which I intentionally left out of the filter and sat aside for another mixed strain run. This was the bottom of the jar with some shake too. 62% RH.

Basically, I dont think I can juice any more out of that strain without upping my temps or repressing. Trying to dissect the puck out the filter seems fruitless as the puck will begin to break up which will make repressing a mess.

I am going to keep putting a lot of pressure on these bottle tech squishes, for me, to make any caregiver material worth pressing (outside of having access to ANY concentrates from their strains not just what they have on the shelf), I gotta be hitting about 20% yields. From a meds perspective, it's invaluable though! I would probably still press the caregiver buds if I only got 15% yield, just because it's trusted medicine.

Are those filter bags seemless? In the picture looks like it, yet description states l-shaped stitched?

That's sort of like a deconstructed nugsmasher xp. I like that size though it would appear to need to be a "mini" h-frame press in order to remove your caged plates.

I love the idea of a dabpress mini frame for putting in 6-20 ton jacks and your own plates. Black frame, anodized heavy dabpress logo up top!

If they can build a mini frame that support a 20-ton jack, that'd work with the 3x7 caged plates, but could also accommodate the single user's needs with a 6-ton jack and 3x3 plate kit.

I am thinking some sort of ram to attach the top plate to, which can also point at the center of the cage so it works for both configs.

Edit: I think you mean a frame where you can slip caged plates in and out without mounting anything, that would be pretty neat, like just a mini H frame? I'm surprised someone hasn't started making one yet.

Thought I'd share a recent experiment. I had been avoid some higher temp presses due to some of my more cured material basically getting too stable of a consistancy. This Magik F5 flower I have has so much terpenes in it, I pressed it at 210F (plates temp) and was able to squeeze out another 2% almost using less pressure and the same amount of time. The collected rosin is just as good quality at 210F as 190F. I will have to try some other cultivars but for now I think I'll play around at 210-220F for a bit.

Also, I finally sampled some of my cannabutter that I made from an ethanol wash with the pressed pucks, very good meds, I used half a teaspoon and got lit. I believe I used 3 grams of decarbed winterized puck rosin for 1 stick of butter =)

thanks for the update. My next press, think I'll go with 210 and try to make sure plates are really at 210.
Last press was at 170 on first press and puck spread more than expected so actual puck psi was probably low also.
Re-press with puck folded in half and 210 F with another ton of pressure---got 2X yield of first press, although
it was much darker/ touch of greenish/ not as high quality.

I've seen those sometime ago but forgot to post about it, this looks like an easier setup than the dabpress version where you have to buy pump,imo those jacks are more common and cheaper,i even have one in my car.

That just happened...
I wouldn’t trust that press. It looks so weak to hold 12 tons. It could just come flying apart. It could actually kill you. My 10 ton Dake flexes quite a bit under pressure. That little thing just isn’t going to cut it.

It's really hard to tell from the picture, but depending on the steel used, especially for the bars, that structure may be extremely strong. If the bars and cross members were annealed, I don't doubt a 12T rating.

When I see all the shear points on the standard presses made from cold rolled or formed steel (and one I saw at Harbor Freight used ungraded bolts!) They scare me big-time!

**Edit-just looked up their site, there's very little info, except "American Steel" listed. And the prices are way up there, but they did have an interesting horizontal setup.

I'm doing some experimenting today also. Just a few presses.

I got some odd filters on Amazon. 1"x5".

I figure I can fold 1" over and have a 1x4 which is the size of the pucks I was experimenting with.

I plan to do 3 presses. All the same except.... one will be pre-pressed into a 1x4 puck. One will be plain buds stuffed in the filter and the third, I will grind the pot first. I have never tried that.

As for temps, I never understood why peeps pressed so low (under 200F). I never saw any better quality and only less yield than 200F+. I always pressed at 240F in the past and the rosin came screaming out of the press. Real thin but nice and sticky. The consistency was real easy to collect. Only recently have I started pressing at 210F.

I believe this will be my last experiment with this size puck. I am going to order the Dabpress pre-press and filters and try the bottle tek method next.
