I don't tune in live to the dynavap live feeds. Could someone ask George why he would make a new stainless tip for the m18 that doen't have an adjustable screen? Seems like a no brainer?

You get what you pay for. If you want want both bells, and whistles you have to shell out proportionately. :2c:

The bottom line is, for the pricepoint, the SS is superseded by the Ti in both function, and refinements.

SS, a win. Ti, Win Win.

In the meantime, let’s enjoy what we have? ;)

PS A hint. You can use C-clips to customize your bowl size....

Whatever, it really isn't a big deal to program the machine to do so. Have you ever seen a programmable milling machine.

I believe the adjustable bowl is an upgrade in function, one of the selling points of the titanium tip. Yes, I’m sure it can be done to to the ss tips however I find their products cheap enough to purchase the upgraded components and want to support their business.

Why don’t you make a hemp fiber sandwich with two screens, the size of your hemp fiber will determine the size of your bowl. Yes, it’s a work around but an extra screen and hemp fiber will cost less than a ti tip if the adjustable bowl size is what you are looking for.

I've never seen it said, but in my mind the reason they probably don't add the screen adjustment to the M is to maintain differences from the ti tip, since the ti tips are the "premium" version

Da "M" seem's to work fine?
LEMON KUSH work's fine?

Some of us like the smooth chamber. Also, as @almost there pointed out, the M is supposed to be the "budget option"; I'm sure they want to keep a certain amount of distinction/incentive for people to invest $$$ in a Titanium-tipped model.

I'm happy to say that I received the 2018 M yesterday and have personally witnessed the great improvements to the 2017 M. The tip's performance is now very close to titanium ones, which is pretty miraculous IMO. I can touch the cap quite soon after the cooldown clicks, which was not safe with the old SS tip. The only improvement I'd like to the new SS tip is Omni compatibility (so that the extra-length condenser trick can be used to block the airport). Hail DynaVap :buzz::buzz::buzz:

I dont have a problem touching the cap 1-2 seconds after the cooldown click in the M17... :)

The major cost upgrade is the materials i.e titainium & an upgraded condenser, not a couple grooves in the bowl? The double helix is an upgrade to the new m bowl, which the adjustable ti dosen't have, at this point anyway. Maybe both, an adjustable bowl & double helix, on the m would be nice, but this feature set doesn't seem to make sense, as it blows the price point?

I agree with everything you said, I have been playing with my '18 M and it seems to be a huge improvement. I was not a fan of the '17 m, Love my omni though.

I used the grey condenser o rings to cover half the carb hole (if you zoom in you should be able to see the oring)
and I have tried using 4 o rings to have adjustable air flow. both work well. The grey o ring method is way more slick

You are correct. Mang.

I don’t get it.

You got two LE tips from DV. Another one from Smokey?

Color me jealous, some WS, an SV3, FF, Pax3, etc, etc—not to mention a treasure trove of DV, PP, WG,....

Not exactly a cache for a starving musician.

Enjoy your toys, I am sure you are! Love to see your mancave. Mang.
@stark1 - I prefer the older gen 4 7 fin tips over the new ones and was happy to swap.

Did you order a replacement o-rings & they came in grey or did you swap out the o-rings on the tip w/ black ones?

I think there is a little picture explanation somewhere in the thread if you decide to do that

@Newcastle, here's some links to the M tip mod:

You can use files or a dremel, but I think you'll have more control w/ the files.

( Moi tambien, Smokey! ) :ko:

Lucky for me, I'm not a starving musician. Got my first paycheck for subbing on church organ when I was 13, never really looked back. I work hard (and practice EVERY day), but am very blessed.

As far as the LE tips go, I was one of the ones who got unceremoniously dumped during their rollout. I was really pissed at first, but got over it, because.......well that would just be petulant. Smokey reached out after not being crazy about his LE, and now we're both happy! Cheers to you today, hope you're cradling a good stout in this fucking crazy weather!

Slurp!

Where can one get the MINI PORT?
X0IyNU4.jpg

That is a CIVILIZED unit so perfect 4 da VAPCAP

It looks like everyone like those jars but for the vapcap I think a tube just large enough in diameter to fit the tip is ideal. You end up having a very evenly filled bowl. If you can find one give it a try!

All the @Pipes products come direct from Pipes. Right now I think there is a 4 month wait on the mini. Contact him by PM. Info is HERE

I think it's a joke hence the mini portside moniker!
