VB Eleven Pen is now very very available here http://www.vaporbrothers.com/vb11 Mar 3, 2015
AboutHello FC!!!! From Venice, CA, Vaporbrothers was the first widely known vaporizer company in the USA. While Volcano did a lot to legitimize vaporizers on a larger scale, our little wooden box became the most common vaporizer type on the market for the first decade of our century. From our invention (thrice patented) sprang tons of knockoffs, but also some improvement spinoffs such as Silver Surfer, Hot Box, and other "Whip" style vaporizers. (The word "Whip" is our trademark but is used widely without us bothering anybody about it) We pat ourselves on the back quite a bit so if you want to test any of our claims or assumptions let us know here or by direct message. I'd love to chat.
A quick creation story: At the time we started in the winter of 1998, the only vaporizers available were glass globes, log vapes, and heat guns. My vaporbro Geno (not his name- perhaps we can get his permission to use his name some day soon) made prototypes with me in his apartment in Santa Monica, CA. We were looking to conserve our plant matter and get more out of smaller amounts. Lower and lower temperatures, clean hot air, eliminating smells was in our focus. We had no interest in harm reduction devices that leave you feeling lacking, as they would not catch on with heavy smokers. So we toyed around until we were able to get the size of hits that could impress anybody. At some point a prototype put Geno into the fetal position. Nothing made us more aware that our new device was ready to scale up. With generous help from many key LA people we were able to get the first vaporizer production underway. If you've heard the rumor we were started by Woody Harrelson that's partial truth- he was our biggest supporter for a while. With financial support from Woody's family & friends, I was able to buy the tools and materials to make larger batches. An old school Dog Town skater gifted me a defunct snowboard factory where I spent a year doing little but building, thinking, gathering support. Back in Venice, VB'ers were converting countless of their friends, artists, actors, musicians and athletes to vaporizing.
A lot was happening back then- History was pushing through a bunch of zeroes and we felt like the world deserved something brand new. Something good as well... the news was becoming a ghoulish circus. Vaporbrothers the company was incorporated on Sept 12, 2001. A day earlier we lost our primary business adviser when she got caught up watching building demolitions in New York and never came back. (Life changing event, evidently)
Even today, we still build our VB1 and VB2 vaporizers by hand in LA and are incredibly fucking anal when it comes to what you're buying- That it will work the way we intended and be very good to you. A VB1 or VB2 should give you the biggest freshest/densest hits you've ever had from a vaporizer and not leave the nagging void that you want to fill with smoke.
VB2 is too new to be knocked off but VB1 has a 15 year history of imitation. Beware of the "Digi-" plastic things that look like us but are obviously chinese knockoffs. Their hits are not just weak but they contain shit you definitely don't want inhaling in your lungs, like lead, cadmium, and arsenic to name only a few.
Fyi, we don't mind some vaporizers that built on top of our idea, such as the SSV which we consider a solidly built innovation on top of ours. They give us props on their website so that's really cool of them anyway.
The only thing we don't claim to be a founder of is vape pens of course- that's more of a bandwagon we jumped on for the purpose of creating a clean non-toxic pen that works awesomely well for oils on the go.
Anyway, if you ever have a problem, we want to help solve it and we encourage you to take advantage of the warranty with all the bells and whistles. We definitely don't try to hump your leg with excessive fees and restrictions. For those who pay the little extra to buy our product (or the high price of VB2), we love you. Had to throw that in. Thanks for reading this far. Love to you all FC members, lurkers, fans. Thanks.
