To be fair, I was not advised that the lid was an accessory until I called. In the the first email they sent, they stated that the gasket coming apart was a cosmetic defect and not covered under warranty. I suppose the support staff could use some more training but I am still somewhat satisfied...

Just to be clear, I never soaked the lid gasket in iso. I would only use iso wipes to wipe the glass portion of the lid. If any debris got on the gasket I would simply clean it off with the brush that came with it.
