Shipping confirmed!

I ordered blue, directly from firefly, on April 16.

This will be my attempt to switch from combustion, hope I like it! I know people have said that this isn't a good vape for beginners, but honestly all of the factors that are supposed to be challenging are what attract me to it. Its manual nature seems right in line with using a bowl the old fashioned way (which sounded like one of the designers' main goals).

Anyway, once it gets here I'll give it awhile and report back. My tracking number doesn't have an estimate yet, but it's only one state away, so I don't expect it to take too long.

You'll love it. A small learning curve, but give it a couple weeks to get your technique down. 50x better than my first vaporizer haha.

@colomarijuana Good to hear! I have used other vaporizers, and did extensive amounts of research first, so I'm fairly confident in my choice :) I've considered making the switch in the past, but there were really no portables that I found acceptable (and I'd still be smoking more often than not if I only had a desktop). It had been a few years since I had done much research; if I had been keeping up to date I may well have ended up with a Mighty. But I think the FF2 will be the best fit for me.

Does anybody else get a solid red light (instead of solid blue) when the FF2 is done charging? I mostly use the external charger so I keep forgetting to ask.

Great results with concentrate, flower, and hash!

Hold the phone.... Can you vape hash? I thought it was online possible to consume concentrates that are "gooey" or can melt (i.e. Shatter)? I mean the black stuff, not bubble hash. These are different....right? :uhh:

The realm of concentrates is vastly unknown to me...

Forgive my ignorance. But that's what this place is for isn't it? ;)

It took me a few days to get, but it's not too tricky. The key is starting each hit sloooow, then you can speed up to whatever is comfortable. Also, high setting isn't THAT high, if you're looking for more visibility and couchlock (I use it to sleep, so that's my personal goal).

Thanks for the advice!. I plan on trying everything, but I'm assuming that I will put it on high and leave it there (especially since I have a dumbphone...). I feel like it will be possible to achieve the same effect as the lower temps by pulsing the heat on and off and modifying my draw. That's purely speculation until I get my device of course, but I plan to test it out thoroughly. I have plenty of friends with smartphones, so I'll try all the settings out and get a good frame of reference.

I go where the thrills are
Assembled / made = the same thing. The majority of the components are made in china.

Its all semantics .. i dont care either way i was just responding to the post slagging of china pens then saying they use a ff2.

But it isn't all semantics, and we don't wanna spread bad info. China pens contain active elements made in China. The crucial bits of the FF are made in America, by Americans. There is a huge difference between "made" and "assembled" in this instance.

Do you get the chemical taste when hitting it dry COLD? How about dry (empty) and with heat?

I would be concerned if I had an off taste, I'm super picky. Thats a huge part of the appeal of firefly as a brand to me. Something is off IMO.

Only when hitting with high heat. Empty or filled.

I probably should have done a few more burn offs than I did.

If it keeps up I'm going to contact FF.

Emailed firefly about the indicator light and this was their response.

Thank you for your email. I apologize but we do not know of any battery light indicator issues going on with the Firefly2. We know that the PDF manual that is available online has an extra battery level check on it and we are trying to fix that to reflect the true LED sequence of the battery level check:

murf2010,
I don't know what to think about their battery recommendations. They seem pretty counter
to all I know about lithium-ion batteries.

BATTERY LIFE

• Keep Firefly 2
on charging dock to ensure a charged battery (From manual)

By nature, lithium-ion batteries degrade with time and use, so the more you use your battery, the less charge it will hold over time. Firefly is designed with a swappable battery so your device will last far longer than the battery. Treat your battery similar as you would your phone: remove from the charger after it is fully charged, let battery lose charge completely before recharging, and store them at temperatures around 70°F. (From Support FAQ)

These statements do not echo what I understand about Lithium-Ion batteries.

1. It is bad to leave something charger for a long time after is is fully charged. Here they
are inconsistent between these two suggestions.

2. Letting a battery completely discharge before recharging is not how I understand the
life extending methods of a lithium battery. I would say that you charge it close to capacity
and then let it not go below 20% before recharging. And you take it off as soon as possible
when you have determined that you have charged it enough (or it is fully charged).

However battery technology is complex and evolving so maybe their batteries are meant
to be what seems to be abused by current best practices.

Naaaaaaaaaaaaah I wouldn't worry I am 86.4% sure you'll like it. From the reviews I've seen and what people are saying, this is a fantastic vaporizer. You made a great choice, and please do report back! :D

Where my gold at???

Well no, the lid pinch technique makes it work consistently better for some units.

It is easy to see with my unit that pressing down on the lid causes more resistance to the
airflow and which instantly makes the air hotter and does seem to cause quicker extraction. I will experiment with no pressure and see if I can get the same level of extraction with more draws.

I would up the temperature but I don't have a phone that supports the app yet. And cannot
get anyone to put the app in a place where I can download it so I might trying running on a pc
with an android app emulator.

That typo is pure gold. I hope it's bated and not baited. But seriously, I have been checking my email consistently. I have high hopes for this

I received my shipping confirmation yesterday from Vapeworld! I ordered a blue Firefly 2 from them on April 14th, but changed my mind when I saw more pics of the blue out in the wild and realized that it wasn't the turquoise color that it looks like in alot of the first pics from firefly, so I switched to a white one, and I'll probably get another lid or two in the future for it anyway so I can switch colors if I want to. I plan on using mine for concentrates more than bud, but I'll definitely experiment with both when I get it. I don't anticipate too many problems getting over the learning curve bcuz I've been vaping for years and own alot of other vapes, so I'm sure I'll be fine. I'll report back when I get it. I should have it by Friday the latest.

Maybe I'm just lucky, but mine works the same (very well) with lid pinch or not. 2 weeks in and I'm still very impressed. The experience with the FF2 just seems to be more elegant if that makes any sense. Cloud production is very good. Maybe not as huge clouds as my E-Nano, but I seem to get more medicated. The taste and temp with the FF2 is unparalleled. With the FF2 you can get a much bigger hit than you're aware of--no harshness, no heat. With the E-Nano---which is a great vape--it feels much hotter and harsher.

I think that the lung-busting cloud chasers (not that there's anything wrong with that) might find better options. And there might be stealthier vapes out there. But if you're looking forn the most elegant vaping experience----I think that the FF2 is the shite. I fully expected a few glitches on a new product. At first I thought that my unit was faulty---it took hours to charge with a 10 watt (2.1 amp) plug in charger. Turns out it was the charger. Less than 2 hours on a phone charger (5 watt 1 amp). I'll get a new 2.1 charger and I'm sure it'll beat one hour.

If you're not into stirring---don't get the FF2. It's a necessity that I'm comfortable with. I have to with my E-Nano---I just think that if you're into convection that to get optimum results--ya gotta stir. With the FF2 my typical bowl is---fill to the top with very little tamping. First hit ---if you pull long enough has a nice small bit of cloud at the end. The flavor of that hit is amazing. Second hit---nice medium cloud. I then stir. The third hit is a really big cloud. If I then stir between hits---very big clouds for another four hits. If I don't stir---I still can very much feel it, but the clouds are smaller. What I do to finish is take some of the spent herb and wipe down and soak up the resins on the top and bottom glass. Then you get two more very big clouds.

I'm fine in the stealth mode with little stirring---still medicates very well. But if you want clouds---stir. If these steps bug you---the FF2 isn't for you. If like me---you don't mind---the best vaping experience I've had.
