I'd love a water adapter for this. I guess Ed is the place to go to get one. Nevertheless this is the first vape I've had that doesn't make me cough. Still not getting clouds for whatever reason but it still medicates me.

Two months in, and my FW3 still amazes me with how little product produces such big, flavorful clouds!

I have bumped the temp ranges up 4 clicks, and this (for now) is my sweet spot.

Temp 1- I can control my exhale cloudage with my draw speed, depending on how
stealth I need to be. Very nice option when in public.
Temp 2- is where I like to start out for typical temp step session.
Temp 3- is used for temp step session, or start here when I have less time.
Temp 4- completes all sessions, or start here for thee ol punch to the noggin,
this is becoming my favorite way to use this device!

I use a primer puff, wait 4 seconds, followed by a long slow draw for Temps 1&2.
For me, no wait is required on Temps 3&4, IMO flavor is compromised if I wait especially when starting out on these temps.

With all temps, I'll (primer) puff hard, then start a long slow draw increasing draw speed as heater heats up.

@little maggie try slowing down your draw speed, the heater can be overwhelmed with too much airflow. If you start with too strong of a draw, the heater will never catch up, resulting in wispy vapor at best. Have you tried bumping up the temp ranges?

Yeah, this thing is awesome, still my vape of choice... One charge gets me through the average day (at least five or six capsules?), so I've basically put everything else away for backup or special occasions. Never would have expected a handheld/portable could do the job alone!

At home I attach this ~3" custom mouthpiece from OGB:

Disaster!

20 mins ago My fw3 fell out of my pocket.... It smashed into pieces and a battery fell out plus the electronics and heater section came half out.

Hmm. Shit. Hmmmmmmmmm.

Let's see what happens if you push it all back in?

Bzzzzzzz. Bzzzzzzz.

Ahh. Luckily I am just outside my garage.

Thanks gaffa tape.

It doesn't look pretty but it still works and I made it to the station on time.

I guess I will be able to post picks of the inside now. My "breakdown" shots...

A question, and maybe an odd one about ordering a new capsule. On the FW website the description under capsule says "replacement mouthpiece glass and wire filter screen for the FW3" so one question is do you really only get the herb capsule or the upper larger glass with it too if you order the capsule?

And also looking at the pics of the "mouthpiece and capsule" mine looks to be just a bit more then half an inch shorter then the one pictured, Does anyone who owns more then one mouthpiece have any that are shorter?

The Firewood is rockin' it but I still don't get the results i read about, no way mine will combust on any temp with any kinda pack , quantity of herbs or varying draw speeds though after a long enough session the avb is a nice dark brown seems if the herb was closer to the coil the results would improve.

Hope that all makes sense, Thanx.

I think the description was just copied and pasted from the description of the 2.0/2.1 capsule and Marc just slacked on revising it to read capsule only.

All 3 of my capsules are the same length within a tolerance of 1/16"

I had to get my first FW3 replaced and I loved it so much. My second one just doesn't seem to compare to the first most of the time. I had to set the temp up to level 7 and I find myself having to do a primer puff more often than not. Sometimes I think the issue is just that I pack too much. I often pack 3/4 capsule min and then remember that if I pack 1/2 capsule instead I will get much better results. Sometimes I think the issue is that some Firewood 3's work better than others. I'm not really sure but I do still enjoy this vape a lot.

Yes I raised them as high as they would go too, before I did i was in the process of sending it back.

It works and has been pretty much my daily driver for a month or so(can't plug in right now since the homestead was invaded by kids, only get to micro-dose a couple times a day) but still feel it should be doing better then it is. When I hold my mouthpiece up against the pic on the website mine is way short though I guess it could be an optical illusion.

EDIT; think I'll just order a couple of the "mouthpiece and capsule" set-ups and see if there's a difference since I kinda need 'em pre-loaded and ready for when I can step out and get enough privacy to pull off a few hits to keep things simple and herb outta sight during the day.

More in the time involved in getting full extraction of the goodies, seems to take a good 10-20 hits to finish 1/2 a capsule where in my HI and Underdogs(or Vapcap or lotus) it'll only take 2-3 hits for the same amount.

Taste is great and clouds hard to measure since I vape outside.

Have you tried using it like a log and reversing the capsule so the screen isn't blocking the heat.

I don't actually have one yet, but I gotta say man...comparing a portable battery powered vape to those tanks really isn't fair haha. The first two are known for their beastly ability to clear loads fast (they're desktops) while the other two are butane style, also known for their massive power...aren't really giving the poor firewood a chance!

You might try an incredibly slow draw.

Can't wait to purchase one!!!!

No, I haven't thought of that before but I'll give this a try first thing in the morning, thanks.

I know what your saying for sure and would normally expect it to be true too but from reading some of the posts/reviews in this thread and in a few other places here on FC and elsewhere on the internet a few people whose opinions i trust have said the Firewood 3 performs very close to the level of those vape I mentioned if not as well as they do so I'm hoping for that with mine.

Right now it's not working badly for a battery powered portable at all which is why it's been my main Daily Driver since the holidays so I think that kind of shows i like it quite a bit (i do own a shit load of vapes). I'm not giving up on it or anything as I just ordered 2 more mouthpiece's/capsule's today.

It has been serving me well in my current situation where I can't leave a vape out or be going ape with a torch or even have a bunch of blinking multi color lights in my hand while exhaling vapor without drawing unwanted attention from teenage eyes and minds.

Mine has been giving 4 buzzes twice and turning off randomly when it's supposed to be fully charged. In other words it's behaving like it has no charge when it does.

The first time my girlfriend tried it out it started doing one constant buzz and it lasted like 90 seconds or so. Freaked me out.

I love my little woodie, but sometimes it's glitchy. And I gave away my other vaporizer. Which means I combusted this morning. Such a headache. Ugh

OK so plugging it back in and waiting for the light on the charger to go green again.

I suggest resetting your device by removing the batteries and placing them back in. I have gotten weird extended buzzes when out and about have attempted using my "nails" to loosen the battery area. Luckily the random buzzes normally stop before I can even get one screw out but after it stopped I test to make sure its back to normal.

I think my firewood runs a little hot. On stock heat setting buzz 4 out of my bong. If I don't pull hard after it clouds my bong up, it will combust. I've had my firewood for a while now and I've gotten my tenique down to never combusting and finished a bowl in 2 milky rips

Setting 4 technically can go into temperature range capable of combusting; why not just use 3? But I've mentioned it many times, you can combust at two if you know how.

I have had my internal setting at one for the past few weeks.

My first FW3 had similar issues. It also started to make audible beeps. I could still get it to work but I didn't want it to quit on me when I really needed it to work so I emailed Marc. Your going to need to send it in unfortunately. Marc will fix it or replace it though.

Looks like I'm going to have to send it in for replacement. It's doing it more frequently, but I'll have nothing to use while it's gone.

I'm having second thoughts about firewood... Might have to splurge and get one that works consistently.

The Firewood brand has not been prone to faulty units. I think you, me and payton are the only ones to have a defective/malfunctioning unit and mine happened the day after I used it with the micro-bub for a full day so it is possible I dropped water in it. Lots of others have had their FW3 for several months now with no problems.

You can spend more money, but that does not mean you will be getting one that works consistently. All those big money vapes have returns too, check out their threads and read about 2 or 3 pages and you will see what I mean.

Once I dialed in the technique, my FW3 has been my reliable and quickly responsive go-to unit.

The ESV has produced spotty results and the Crafty just takes so much longer to get into action. Considering the price differential between the FW3 and the ESV/Crafty, I think this thing is a no-brainer. If they started doing exotic woods, I might pony up for a backup.
