So the lighter ABV is vaped at 6.5, and that's honestly the darkest I seem to be able to get it at that point on the dial. The darker bunch below is what my nano can give my at 7.5. I've never combusted on that and it gives me nice thick vapor. Maybe that's just the nano magic, so is it just preference?

Yeah, mine gets closer to the bottom ABV at 6.5. You might just have a nano that runs a bit cooler. What's your screen distance?

Dial number means basically nothing. My 7 will almost combust and my 5.5 is darker than your 6.5.
Lower temps yellow/dark yellow your herb, medium temps dark yellow/brown, and higher temps brown/dark brown. I always use this as a reference instead of using numbers, but people really like saying their numbers so idk ....
Lower temps are more euphoric and heady effects.
Higher temps are more sedative and intoxicating.
The choice is yours.

I think I have found a new favorite setting.
I have had good flavor on the stem at 5.75, but then I don't like the stem half as much as the gong on water. My throat gets dry on the stem. Daddy don't like that.

Lower temp and slower draw.
Stem will come through eventually, just gotta work with it. I get throat irritation too, and you can combat it with that combo.

Not all cannabis require the same temp. I adjust my temp gauge down if my vapor is too harsh. If I'm not getting enough flavor I turn my temp up. I'm anywhere from 5.75 - 6.50, a 1/10 of a degree makes a difference. I always use a slow and steady draw.

I have had luck with this stem and down to .025g set between 6 and 6.5 on the dial. Gives me about two tasty hits.
On a side note I followed these steps to post a photo but it resulted in three copies of the picture appearing in the post. Any idea where I went astray?

A quick trip to Walmart and less than $40 was all it took. In 15 minutes, with no previous experience, I made 3 dabs, each from a unique strain.
Be careful though, it's kind of addictive once you start. The E-Nano and concentrates are a match made in heaven.
To those asking about temp, I've gone as high as 9.5 with a steel pad in the dry stem. The hits were surprisingly smooth but the taste of the metal was way too strong for my liking. I'm usually in the 7-7.5 range for cotton and 8-8.5 for steel.

Tonight I've had my Nano at 6 and I've been packing decent size bowls probably .3 but I bumped the screen up a little bit. It kinda made me think of rosin presses and stuff like that because looking at my gong I can just see the oil coming out of the herb. It's pretty neat, and the hits are so damn tasty, I don't know why I haven't really done this. Just makes it so fun to use. Just feels like a nicer buzz too.
