I wonder if you could possibly use pieces of Aluminum from a Soda Can to help snug the Heater Stand? Of course being very careful not to cut yourself.

Maybe heavy duty Aluminum Foil, folded up to increase its rigidity yet still allowing a flexible structure?

I know I've said it before, but damn.....

My love for the DBV grows stronger with each session.

Last night was the best I've had yet...

Freshly cleaned Wand, screen and Tubing (Once a week regiment, screen gets cleaned every 3 days)

Loaded up some 6 month Cured Pipe Dream (Blue Dream x BioDiesel)



Of course a layer of Bubble Hash ...

Just when I thought I had my sweet spot mastered... I Made a slight adjustment in draw speed... I was getting massive clouds even after holding them in for 5-10 seconds.

My nightly session is always done in the dark, with only my television providing illumination, I looked around the room, and it was completely fogged up.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I exhaled the vapor, as each draw was so very smooth coming in.

I'm about 3 months into exclusive DBV Vaping, after last night.....

I can see my journey getting better and better as each day passes.

Long live Da Buddha!

I was surprised at how much a nice cleaning amplifies the taste and quality. The first day I even loaded my dbv, after a day or two the screen was clogging slightly(some really blonde kief that melted like bubble) and I just tried to vape through it scraping and heating at high temps. But low and behold a new screen in a week tastes like magic again. The sense of taste gets really dull after about an eighth of the same bud. I always have the taste of vapor hash in certain terpene profiles floating around my wand w/ or without concentrates. Once I get a new bud only the really strong traits pop out profile wise everything else is blended into the wand hash taste of the previous batch.
And the clouds are 2x as thick as well.. I'm sure I vaped 2x as much bud the last couple days as well , because 6g is now in "cooking jar" in 3-4 days. I want to lean down to .6-.8 per day

My sentiments as well. However, in my case I was more or less "forced" to do a thorough cleaning because I had a reclaim bowl of wand hash that burnt part of my screen. I actually cleaned the wand as well as the screen in iso before, but after I burnt the hash onto my screen, I was lazy and kept using it. Great point that is often overlooked regarding DBV technique, which is why I love this unit more and more since it's up to the individual scientist to find the important determinants of hit quality, which include: a medium/heavy "whistle" sound coming from the top of the unit, draw speed, clock position on the temperature dial, how finely ground the bud is, and resistance factors coming from poor airflow with a clogged screen/wand/tube.

Despite all this, at every point in the design, preparation, and use of a vaporizer, it is possible to extract more and more to get every penny of your dollar's worth. You can spend more to get a finer/better grind and isolate more kief which could pay huge dividends as a factor over time. Evident as well is how little material you need to stay lit up/high. Since school started pretty soon for me, I told myself to cut down consumption considerably, and it's feeling like its working great! I can stay high off of a decent but impish sized nugs when I grind them up fine and leave the fluff in the grinder. At the very least, you can cut down that to 2 sessions with how much bud you get. I'm planning to do that for before/after work days on the weekend so I can get back to studying some pretty captivating stuff. Ah, so is student life so far.

Dude, it keeps getting better and better with each session.

My first suggestion is getting the DBV to sit at an angle, where the Heater Cover points down at 45ish degrees replicating the SSV Angle, this will help with the Blowback issue.
(Simply slide something under the backside of the base, I used two door stoppers)

I have nothing to prove this, but I swear it rips harder when on an angle.

2nd suggestion I've found that a very light tamp, even better, no tamp produces the very satisfying hits.

3rd .. I recommend starting at 2 o'clock, and adjusting from there..

I personally take my first 2-3 draws at 12:30 then make my way up to 2 to finish...

Depending on the material, I can keep the temp at 12:30 throughout the whole session by adjusting my draw speed.

Keep your screen clean, you won't believe how much of a difference it makes until you try it yourself.

I have been getting great performance with the element just a couple mm below the glass, I just went and double checked.. If you're looking directly into the HC,you should still be able to see the top of the element with just a little bit of space in between.

Haha, this one is definitely more like the whole boob. I feel like the stock glass mouthpiece (middle) is more nipple-shaped. Although I kind of like ones that balloon a lot, they've grown on me. Absolutely gorgeous custom design. The colors work really well, especially since you got that great black ceramic finish .

One question though, do you think that the bronze glass will make it more difficult to see any built-up wand hash or resin?

I thought about that, but when I look at it, it seems easy enough to distinguish. There's just enough clear glass around the edges that I'll be able to see the hash.

I just wanted to share the following;

Since all this talk recently of the cleanliness of our screens and wands, I've been cleaning both of my whip sets basically after every other session.

I realize I'm sacrificing that epic wand hash, but damn....

The difference between a dirty wand vs. a freshly cleaned setup is night and day.

This especially applies when switching strains, the fresh wand really brings forth the true flavors to the palate. Most notable in the first 2 draws, those extremely volatile lightweight Terpenes really shines through with a freshly cleaned vapor path.

Using this unit on a daily basis for over 3 months now, and I continue to build a stronger rapport with Da Buddha.

I am ever so grateful for finding FC, and showing me the heavenly light known as Vaporization.

Y'all's just inspired me to upgrade my DBV.

About to make a call to H.E.M.P, hoping they have custom pieces on hand...

Gotta sort out my financial situation first though.

I actually already had mine tilted, using a scifi book (a fantasy book would've been much too thick ) to avoid material spilling onto the heating element. So it's nice to hear it hits harder this way too! My heating element is raised as high as I can get it with out pulling it too hard.

I get equally good results whether I use a lot or a little, but I find I have to burn of the screen after every major sesh. It clogs reeeally fast with good material. No biggie, I like keeping it clean.

Good move NorVape, like I said... I can't really say for sure if the angle increases the quality of the hit, but ever since I put it on an angle the cloud production seems to correlate with the angling.

Yeah man, I was searching for images portraying the ideal position of the HE in reference to the HC, unfortunately, the first pic in this thread, the HE is depicted too low, you should just see a tiny bit of head space from the top of the element, but definitely not touching the glass...

Edit; just measured the space between the top of the HE and the HC, it's approximately 3mm

Yes sir!!! 0.075 or 0.3 .. The DBV gets it done, and yup, the screen will accumulate resin rather quickly when using quality material, I typically soak mine in ISO every 3 sessions, and just recently started cleaning the whole setup every other session.

The taste is just... Bliss.

^^This is one of the many reasons I love this unit, so simple,yet so versatile.

The high temp sessions have worked miracles for me.. Ever since I acquired the DBV, I've never slept better.. Even when I was dabbing exclusively, I only got 4 hours of sleep, then my pain levels would wake me up, and I'd have to fire up the D-Nail or the loud roaring torch at 3am.

High temperature vapor gives me 7-8 solid hours of pure blissful sleep.

Literally changed my life.

Fuck yeah!!! I have yet to pair mine with a waster tool, simply because I love, love, love.. The flavors that cross the palate directly through the whip.

But that is also an extra step whilst cleaning.
I've noticed that the wand hash that is more solid/dry is less pungent and tastefull. The sticky resin is what really leaves a strong flavour profile.
Could be wrong.

Finally got my 3rd hc in the mail, vaped some og kief for the first time in a week. Had some avb on the bottom and man! this blonde stuff melts just like bubble. 2 - 3 hits on 2'0 clock and I was on a pillow waiting till I wasn't crippled from the last hit haha.

From my limited experience with Wand Hash, you're dead on, the powdery stuff is more or less particulate that falls through the screen whilst stirring (particularly near the end of the bowl when the herb is super dry.)

The sticky goo is where it's at no doubt.

I love my bubble, but dry sifted kief that melts... Packs sooooo much flavor and the high can not be beat. It truly is the proverbial Holy Grail of extracts.

That's exactly what I want as my go to concentrate one of these days.

3 HCs? Did ya get some custom glass? Since @Cemmos posted that beautiful custom Wand, I'm definitely putting aside some cash to obtain my own custom Spherical Setup, damn it,. ...

Don't expect too good of a result though. I just recently started doing this, i haven't saved enough to judge what the product is like without the oil really. I took a snap the size of an eraser and it reminded me of a really dark bubble hash. Tasted better.

Sadly no.. I purchased a dbv from ebay that came with an old style hc and I received a package from a local fc member who threw in the new style one. I broke both within 30 min of trying to fit them. But that is due to my shaky hands and eagerness to vape haha it was a sad day with combustion.
One week later here we are and with a little patience, the new style with old shims is kickin fine.
I too plan to get custom work after seeing that! And I'm sure we will!(if you keep providing pics of your ladies)Glad to be apart of this part of the community and I do have to say Da buddha is truly enlightening!

I just couldn't get my breathing technique right and had no idea what to do about it. I couldn't even think of what questions i could ask so that i could improve...

Suddenly everything fell into place and almost straight away i was able to use my dbv with confidence! For the first time i could actually work out how fast or slow i was inhaling. It changed everything!

So, @Hashtag46&2 and @Odyssey: you two vapor experts have transformed the way i use my dbv. You two rock .

I used to really like this vape but now it just blows me away.

The DBV is even better to use through a j-hook or another type of dry bong. A visual cue to help extract all vapor. My whip took a hike after I realized how much flavor it was robbing compared to all glass. As well as how much of a PITA it is to store stinky silicone whip tubing. The whip is good enough for most but I believe it adds more of learning curve than needed...
