I think flavor perception is an interesting thing. Some people who I referred to as "flavor snobs" no offense anyone, seem to have incredible distinction between various types of nails. Even between nails of the same composition.

I like to compare them to audiophiles. You know, those people with incredibly learned ears who are always complaining about sound quality and need to have like a thousand dollar pair of studio headphones because everything else sounds like shit to them while a normal person can barely hear any difference.

I have pretty distinguished taste but I don't think I will ever be one of these people. I really hope not at least because it seems like they can barely enjoy anything due to their overly refined taste
You got me thinking?
I like the titanium Domeless nail and I only have the best high quality SHATTER know to the human race. Monkies don't medicate!

I will try the quarts again however the Domeless functionality is kind of nice.

I drink very fine wine.
Top shelf flowers (vaporizer)
Well PURGED concentrates.

And yes I'm a flavor snob!

Never do I eat processed food.

I like the Domeless and the taste is fine?
After the gym I'll try the quarts again?

I'll report later!

@ataxian are you saying that your quartz is not domeless? If so I recommend one of the cheap quartz banger off eBay. Totally worth the $25

Because I could imagine a placebo effect where a domeless seems better than a standard nail and dome. Domeless is the shit

You could be right?
My quarts is not domeless and I lose vapor with the timing issue.
The domeless works best.
OK it's titanium and thats all I have.
It works better than my quart thats non domeless.

Do you have a link to a domeless quarts or should I just google it?

The Titanium domeless I have works great despite the criticizing!

As far as castle nails go that one is designed pretty well. The center cup is large, sort of flat, and not too deep. For heating it a smaller flame torch works best and you want to aim it right in the middle of the cup. Heating it from the side doesn't work that well.

I love the banger design because it is very easy to torch from the bottom and has a huge dab cup. It is very easy to get your dab in the cup. It is not just for monster dabs. I take tiny ones but they seem to go further. You can let it cool off and roll your dab around on the large surface area and you will get amazing flavor. And not have the problem of it cooling down too fast and turning into claim on the nail. My entire dab is always vaporized

I honestly think I have just had bad experiences with the banger so far... id like to see a fully scientific jointed (ground joint) female 14mm. then im fairly certain my fitment issue will go away.

ive noticed that when carb capping however now that I have a functional carb cap for a castle/daisy nail its the most efficient for me. the banger seemed to accumulate claim faster because of the long tube thats kinda cool. where as when capped the castle has been leaving behind less claim.

both work.... but I feel im getting a less than optimal experience from "my" banger.
im starting to think its the joint on my cory recycler... it didnt fit the gordo either perfect... but it sits perfect on this C2 bowl from a bubbler.... so it will fit some gongs.

@blankrider so do you think this is a better design than the hand worked joints from green buddah?

@ataxian if your just wanting to try a banger pm me and maybe I can send a try me 14mm female your way.

@farscaper funny you should ask about that nail because it is already in the mail and on the way to my house. So in a few short days I will have an answer for you.

I think it is interesting the way that they made it a drop down design

agreed... and I couldn't wait so ive got one coming too.

I actually think that 180 bend instead of a strait 90 will prevent claiming even more becuase you have a little more gravity in your favor... like a built in claim catcher on a small level.

exciting!

Haha haha not really mine either. At the time there were no female bangers available yet so I said fuck it and grabbed this ugly sucker. For $21 it cured my GAS briefly. I find it funny that not a single person has even mentioned a slight interest in this one. I'm like the only one dumb enough to buy this stupid thing lol

Perhaps you will like this. It is the quartz nail I was talking about. This is a great nail and I hated the lack of use it was getting due to its large size making it unable to fit most domes these days. One day I realized that it was just the right height for my borofarm periscope but would not fit in the nail cup. I said what the hell and took it to the bench grinder. I did my best to round it out and make it look nice. Fits periscope perfect now. Pictured on my Efs gridded stemline with custom Slayer sandblast

periscopes Achilles heal is no way whatsoever to carb cap.

@blankrider I just happend to have a dome from an old rig that broke that fit my 18mm divited quartz. man that thing can carb cap retain heat. with little more than a finger to plug it.... domes are just messy... but I always kinda liked the whole mantra of dome dabbing... domeless are just easier to deal with some times cause there is one less thing to deal with. guess thats why I always wanted a mothership honeybucket style.

hopefully this ground joint banger will fit better.

If you are inside (or outside with NO wind) then a periscope works really good. It has great air flow, good heat retention, and very easy to use. Beats the shit out of a curve in my opinion.

With a traditional nail and dome setup all the air is rushing past the nail cooling it down. With a periscope really the only thing cooling the nail is the oil. The vapor is snatched away pretty much right off the nail and down the tube. It is really pretty neat. And with this quartz nail the flavor is immaculate.

If you are looking for one a suggest also looking for it under the name "belly button" which is pretty much the same thing. I think I saw some on ioffer a while back

Don't laugh!
It works!
And it was cheap!
no laughing here. if it works any you like it. no need to change a thing!

I started out with Ti and have only used a vapenwiser and an old BoroWorks ti swing. both used prior to me.

maybe it was my young hands with concentrates at the time... but I later tried a quartz nail and never looked back.

in reflection I just stick with quartz out of mainly habbit and personal style preference... there is still alot of undue controversy over ti.... I mean people ragging on a product and they have never even owned it...

@ataxian if I were gonna go ti... you already have what I would have chosen!

I thought I was the only person doing this. I have at least half a dozen shitty chi-domes that I use as temporary carb cap's while I make my mind up on what carb cap I want.

No Solo. I just had so many domes laying around I started experimenting. I use one with an especially small opening as a carb cap on my domeless, another as a "adapter" between my 18mm DI adapter and KISS cart so I can use it with my sherlock and I'm sure I'll use the rest for whatever else I can come up with.
