So no 'Nano in the tub?

Loving my Nano, everything about it. My only complaint is the dial for the heat settings. When I sit in my recliner, I keep the dial up on the arm of the chair so it doesn't pull the Nano from the table. Problem is that it often rubs against the fabric, and the dial moves up or down without my even noticing it. I'll start suddenly not getting any production and then realize the dial has been turned down. Thankfully, with the fast heat-up time, it's not a big problem, but it's a minor annoyance. I'd love to have a dial with some resistance to resolve that problem.

Stick a little bit of black tape in the spaCe between the dial and the casing. Add tape until the resistance is to your liking. My dial never moves and I have used this mod ffrom the get go

The mods of this forum decided that I (as well as other manufacturers on this forum) need to use crimped connections, which all Nanos now use

Thank you so much FC for encouraging modifying.

I've read about this rattling sound,
This looks like a dope device and could be potentially a contender for the crown but IMO - let's get fucking educated here folks!

Then let the party begin....

My advice is worthless since I don't have the same problems as the others.
This sucks because people think I'm the crazy one?

What rattle?

My NANO is cheap as hell and works the best for the price!

Taste amazing if that is important to you.

I will change all my glass and add a bunch of Vaporizers to mix it up.

However maybe my NANO is special because it works so well and no rattle!
The NANO as a place in my quiver.

Almost there...
No rattle from mine either and it has been in daily use for a few months now.
Constantly either heating up or left on for a few days, usually on weekends.

I gave it a good shake last night while it was cold and again when it was warmed up and no rattle.

I have started to use the pinched stem and dual mesh screens, it seems that the herb is further away from the heat source in this tube.
Using less herb now and the same effects!
A very dependable little vape that packs a big punch!

I use a rubber band around my dial to add a little friction. Works perfect. Never had the dial moving unintentionaly since I added the rubber band.

Hola FC:
I recently got my Nano.
I put it through severe use and testing. Leaving it 24/7 on 3.5 dial and crank it to 10 dial for a flash heat up and then start at 5 all the way to 8, or 8.5, depending on my needs or quality of meds. I really like how fast heat up time is.
It lives up to the hype and more. This little thing delivers the goods and makes IMO a full extraction of components from any herb.
Uses a pinch or a full bowl, no problem. Light or well packed bowl, no problem. This Nano works well for me in any way I use and abuse it.
Airflow is as easy as breathing, any water tool paired with, works so well.
Someone said flavor, as @ataxian always remember us, the Nano is flavor galore.
I mostly do my first 2 or 3 clouds via direct draw, with the upgraded all glass regular stem, inverted on top of a J-hook mouthpiece. Did I said flavor already?
Using a J-hook helps a lot IMO to feel the convection airflow heat in your hand and prevents me from getting choked with a huge amount of tasty, flavorful and smooth hit of vapor. No wasted vapor here at the "operations shed".
After that, dial goes up every 2 hits, depending on many variables, and after dial reaches 6.5 or 7 time for water tool and massive tasty flavorful smooth huge vapor hits.
Works so good for me, that sometimes I force myself to try to find popcorn ABV taste at the very end of the 7.5 8.5 dial. I even force some bowls to 9-9.5 dial. Never combusted but very dark ABV with a slight but not very pronounced popcorn taste.
Did I mention flavor already??
I'm really pleased with my Nano.

For those concerned about safety, getting shocked or whatever, I get more shocked from my own static body charge sometimes when I try to close the door of my car after a ride. Or my fridge. Or from working in my computer. I'm never concerned or thinking on electric shocks. Everything works on electricity nowadays. I'll be more worried about cheapo, or not, electric appliances than any log or other kind of plug in vape. Most of vape manufacturers use their products themselves.
IMO they'll try hard to make a product that don't kill themselves, don't they??
People complain and make a fuss on anything, and have opinions on something that they don't even own.
So, for those really worried about Nano safety, get yourself one and try it.
And if safety is your concern, don't worry, the grim reaper is everywhere in our daily life. It's just a lottery, sooner or later....
We should be more concerned about how to get better food, better health care, more peace in the world and better quality of buds etc etc.
And finally, wouldn't it be a novel and happy ending, death by electro shock while vaping your favorite strain. Happy way to say hello to our friend the grim reaper, my friends ...
Stay vaped...

Zangano Cruel:

I too was using popcorn buds until I started using TOP COLAS for vaporizing.
The smaller popcorn nuggets I just turn them in to wax.

The sugar leaf and trim I trow away.

The NANO is a flavor device.

I'm learning everyday!

Don't throw your sugar leaves and trim away!!!
Make a DIY Hash Tumbler and press into pucks and vape away!!
Very high quality hash can be had this way for very little effort!

I posted my "pollen pellets" and the FC MEMBERS did not seem interested?
They were too strong!

So I just throw it away.

Let me address and clarify a few things. There has never been a reported case of a shock or a spark caused by the E-Nano. There was a user that saw a spark at the outlet when he plugged it in. This is normal for any device that is turned on when it is plugged in. I see a spark every time I plug in my macbook pro that I am writing this on.

In early units wire nuts connected the power wires to the heating element. This is an industry standard practice and I’ve never had a single issue with it. All of my solering guns use wire nuts. (None of my products use solder). I’ve done some brutal testing, using the Nanos as yo-yo’s etc and could never cause the cord to move enough to get the wires to pull out of the wire nuts. The mods of this forum decided that I (as well as other manufacturers on this forum) need to use crimped connections, which all Nanos now use. There is also a zip tie used for stress relief on the cord. Again, there has never been an issue that I am aware of in units without the zip tie, but the mods insist that I use one.

The rattle.

Yes some units experience the ceramic element hitting the side of the stainless steel tube. It can be a minor annoyance but there is absolutely no safety concern as there is no way this could lead to, or a cause a short of any kind. This issue has been addressed and fixed.

Like I’ve stated previously; I stand behind everything I make. If anybody has a unit that rattles, or has a unit with wire nuts and you are concerned about it. Email me direct at: Andy@epicvape.com and we’ll arrange to have your unit upgraded.
Since you chose to present this as 'the mods made me do it' (breaking a forum rule in the process), I'll also clarify and add some info that you didn't and should have. Anyone is free to debate what constitutes electrical safety, but not our decision on it if it applies to forum rules, and the requirement for basic standards like a strain relief and crimped/covered wire terminations will be added to the rules for manufacturers.

Andy declined to voice any complaints on these requirements in our discussion on this, but did state this- "The enano has had strain relief and crimped connectors since April". So apparently any buyer receiving a unit from April on will get the strain relief and different connectors. The strain relief is required on all products with internal AC terminations and completely aside from safety concerns, is needed to avoid accidental tugging and strain on the internal connections. I'd also like to point out that Andy, as he stated, stopped using wire nuts about 4 months before FC staff ever brought up the subject. I won't speculate as to why he made the switch, since he clearly feels that his wire nut system was rock solid, but all we required was that he offer the strain relief and crimped connections to those who received a unit prior to April. Since he had already offered a free fix for anyone with a rattle, wiring changes could be done at the same time.

As for the absolute shock safety of this design, any product without a double insulated housing and no ground circuit is a potential hazard. If the e-nano were double insulated/walled, we would have no problem with using wire nuts. No other vape design with a thread on FC uses wire nuts, and if we find one or more in the future, and the vape housing isn't double walled, we'll require the same change there as well. That's our decision and it's not up for discussion. We're not going to change our minds. If a model has a three pronged plug then it has a ground and this requirement doesn't apply.

I'm an e-nano owner myself and have enjoyed using it on a daily basis. My previous posts in the thread reflect that. And personally I seriously doubt that I'd bother sending it in for these changes. But since my unit quit powering up a few days ago, apparently due to a bad connection (since wiggling the AC cord at the base of the vape did light up the LED briefly), I will be requesting the current setup when I send it in for repair.

Finally, let me be clear that this post, as far as our forum requirements are concerned, is the equivalent of a mod note and deals with a staff decision. Restating the rule - Public discussions of staff decisions are not permitted on the site. If you have any concerns or queries relating to a staff decision please take it up in private with a staff member.

I followed you recommendation of loading a full piece of flower without grinding.

My GOD!

Pulled out a old set up and cleaned it.

30 grams is all I got of this stuff.

Sorry for shaking the camera!

The more i use my Nano the more i find, less is more.
This of course is dependent on quality!

What you put in, you get out!

I find that if i fully load a stem i can get about 5 good tokes on it, still slightly green
When i load using much less i can get 5 good tokes on it, more even roast throughout!

Never give up experimenting with this amazing little vape!!!
It always rewards you!!!

Oh and by the way Ataxian, it really hurts when you put up pictures like that and i am stuck at work!!!!

Whats up FC? Just wanting to ask every body about how you load your vape. I want some specifics maybe how much you load, any thing special you do to your bowl or green, any tools you use, even temps or settings on adjustable vapes. Im new to vaping just trying to pick up any secrets or generally accepted practices.
Personally i load .05 or so of unbroke dro in my E-nano and start on 5. I work my way up till i put it on my bong for a hit or 2 ending around 8, and Ive always got some music going to make it beter. I want to find a way to make this log even more efficent if possible.

Andy:

The NANO is my daily driver these days.
I just leave it plugged at 6 and raise it to 7.
I'm doing whole flower nuggets or top colas and making loadable pellets kind of like my VAPOLUTION.
I really don't feel the need to chase around the lastest greatest vaporizer.

Collecting NANO's may be the next trend?

Can you turn one out of:
cocobolo_detailed.jpg

I have a 7' x 8" x 4" timber of this COCOBOLA.

So if I give you a 6" x 3" x 3" piece?

I have some BLOODWOOD from AFRICA as well.

I make most things out of exotic however I love the MAPLE NANO.
It even as a bit of figuring in the piece.

Pretty Stoked on the NANO!

Hello all,

Just joined the Nano owners club. Unfortunately, it didn't last long.

I bought one on the classifieds here. I got to use it a bit last night and LOVED it. Unfortunately the glass stem fit very very tightly on the heater stem. Every time it had to be forced on and off. I did not know if that is the way it was supposed to fit (I have never used a log vape before) so I assumed it would get better with some use as the stem was brand new.

I tried to put the water adapter I got with it on, and it snapped before it would slide on. I was now getting worried, but figured maybe it was weaker glass.

Then this morning I went to use the Nano, and on the first attempt, the glass stem snapped when I tried to put it on. I am now left with no way to use my new toy

My question is this: How snugly should the glass fittings fit on?

It was worrisome that it had to be forced, but I let it go. But now that I have snapped both pieces I'm wondering if this metal tube is too big somehow. I hate to order more glass just to have that snap too. It just doesn't seem right that it is so tough to get it on or off, but I don't know...

Any thoughts would help. I want to be able to use this, but I won't order more parts until I am confident they won't just snap. I've already busted about $35 worth of glass in an hour of use.

Another cool new positive I discovered about my E-Nano no one seems to be talking about...

The resin is fucking awesome! And on the 18mm GonG attachment, it's really easy to reclaim and use. Thank you, E-Nano! :spliff:

Here is a post I made a while back with an animated GIF of how my stems fit:

My problem was that I couldn't get the stem on at all without some force. Once they were on there was some play (like the GIF you showed), but what broke both pieces was the force required to get them on the stem. The metal tube was bigger than the opening in the glass (from what I could tell).

I ordered 2 new stems from Epicvape. I'm really hoping the glass I had was the problem, and the new stems will have me up and running soon.

That's what I'm hoping. I'm just worried because both pieces of glass I had were too tight and broke (I had a 14mm gong too). Seemed like a heck of a coincidence.

I guess I'll find out as soon as the new ones ship.
