Discontinued The Persei Vaporizer for herbs and concentrates.

I have always feathered the buttons, but I agree sometimes you really need more than that timeout. And since even within the D9V world world they vary, I get confused, especially after medicating.

My hammer top is broken right now. But I anticipate a couple blown tops once I get my herc, so ill wait to send it in.

So either 3.7v or 7.4v rods will work for herbs, there's just a sharper learning curve for 7.4v?... ok.

I'm thinking I need the ability to remove the coil when I run out of oil and load up a whole SR-71 full of flowers to last the day of solo smoking... will we be able todo this?

I'm sure you will post here when you get the air flow washer situation resolved and I will finally get a SR-71. :) and then make sure you post when the new Iris is ready, and I will get that too!

7.4v Persei Iris with a SR-71... water-filtered.... ok ok..and maybe with usb charging and precise temp control... then I will be completely happy and you will have the vaporizer market. :D

I got some 1/2" x 5/8" silicone tubing from PlanetVape for my PVHEGonG.
But it looks like it will work very nicely with the Herc too!
Can't wait for my glass adapter to get here so I can Herc through the bong.
Might make some of those fat rips a little easier to manage :)

I wish I had a NIBBLER however until I save enough money I do it on the cheap.

... To even consider this little motion of the button on the Persei as none user friendly is just wrong.

I disagree. I find this new 'feature' a PITA. I have loved my Persei for more than a year but this 'upgrade' sucks. I guess I will use my double top from now on and hope it never develops problems.

Wait, the herc fits in a 18mm adapter? I could just get a 18mm to 14mm adapter then...
so true - begin using it on my std herc for awhile.

Also a Bender fits directly on a direct inject 18mm. I just throw a screen from my Extreme-Q in the 18mm male. Can buy the screen separately. If you have a female use a male to male either 14-18 or 18-18. If you have a 18mm male, use a 18-14 reducer. The screen still fits fine. Now a perfect match GONG for the bender through the pipe.

Fully understand your concerns but please understand ours. We can offer you the best of the best power supply but in the hands of people who just dont read the manual its gonna be a time bomb. This is a extra step for the ones that dont read the instructions thinking they know what they are doing just because they know how to make oil.

When did the Persei start comming with s ahut off timer? I just received a replacement head from W9tech and there is a 20 second shutoff timer onmy new Persei top. My other head and my double top do not have timers. I do no like it. To me that was one of the most important selling points of a Persei. I want my old top back. Can I turn the timer off? Can I replace this top. I am really disappointed.

G, can you please address this? Is this a new addition to the updated heads?

G. Sorry I missed you on Skype yesterday. Daughter pulled me away out of town...

So I cleaned my unit up over night. Soaked in ISO and boiled 5 mins. Reassembled, verified 1.5 ohms and installed coil, then dripped in some wax. Allowed to go in coil a sec or 2. added some more. Then to make sure the coil stayed down added a little herb. Then assembled the top and washer. Verified washer made full contact with upper tube and adjusted MP for pressure. OK same thing. It leaked into the bottom area of the rod.

Here is a couple pics:
Persei_sr-71_issue-3.jpg
Persei_sr-71_issue-2.jpg

As you can see the bottom is full of wax and the the top coil is fully installed with herb on top. When I used it I got the herb to vape very well, but really no oil vape.

OK. Why is this happening... Unsure, need some feedback. So I assembled w/o the bottom tube to see the bottom area of the top. Next to provide ground (neg connection) to the top I installed a jumper. Ohm with a meter again to 1.5 ohms. Installed on my Persei with two AW red 18650 batteries. Setup some oil inside. Then took a video. The only time power was hit was in the video... Its 90 second long so beware aware.

As you can see it immediately leaks into the bottom.

Sorry for the poor focus. Didn't notice the camera didn't attach to the correct focus point, but it does show the issue. Guess maybe another reclean and retry...

OK I know you need the unit assembled and draw air through it to operate, but for me simply loading some oil, before I even vape it goes into the bottom. You can't just throw 0.5g of wax on top and throw it together. You need to melt it into the coil a bit. For me simply doing that it goes out of the top.

EDIT: redid the video for better focus. This time only hit for about 10 sec until I saw some vape. Looks to be leaking from the air holes. This time it got hotter so the wax was more runny. Maybe this is normal and my hitting too long, but last time it was much less.

I firmly believe this is atypical. Either something I am doing wrong or something is broke. This is information to G only and not a bash of the SR-71 because believe me its a wild unit. As you can see a quick power push and bang its hot. I so dearly want this thing to operate well for me.

Tuesday I receive 2 more so I will compare. Meanwhile G, I will follow your direction on what to do and move to skype when you have time :) No rush.

the new iris v2's will have the feature taken off. The Button will stay on for as long as you hold it.

Hooray!

Ive been under the impression that my single top is on the way out for a while now (light stays dimly lit sometimes when not in use). I just havent sent it in as i believe its been out of warranty for 4 months or so and i havent been using the Persei as all I use is Puregold and to date ive had bad luck with the original carts, with the CE4 tanks (just never worked right), and i havent attempted the herc or its upgrade [herc with the upgraded parts?] (correct me if im wrong) because i felt it would eat through the purgold too quick (conservationist).

Its mildly obnoxious, but manageable, to have a timeout on the button. But as i will probably only use attachments/carts (1701 is the only one i know of) for Puregold, having long lasting heat from a Non-Timeout top isnt needed.

I could see the issue with timeouts for people who use it in a glass system, big thumbs, absolutely love to cloud chase, using flower attachments, or who use weird settings like i used to (3.7v with a 5ohm cart). But maybe itll be that much more incentive for die-hard D9 fans to get the Iris V2. I know i want it, especially if they dont offer as many Ohm ratings for the 1701s. Id love that dial in feeling. Plus, my single top may be breaking.

But i also see an issue with a timeout for the fact of some users will have to have their eyes glued to the blue light to make sure its still going.

Its manageable to use a timeout top though.

Man i want to use persei. Want those 1701s to come out! Or some sort of Puregold friendly attachment. Something Conservationist friendly (like this weirdo doing 3.7v at 5 ohm). Want a half gram of puregold to last a month used every day multiple times a day (even though that was my typical while using the 3.7 at 5 and sometimes 3.7 at 3)

I understand the time out issue with eye glued on the device but this is not needed as you can just let go and press again really quick every 10-15 seconds. This pattern is needed for the Persei as people start to have set points and can later on start counting and improve performance of their hits.

On a side note we are working on this.

Glass mouthpiece? looks marbled. That looks beautiful. Now that is jumps and leaps beyond the ce4. Id love some puregold outta that!

I do agree that for beginners and even intermediate users the timeout is better for safety and user sake. And advanced users should invest in the Iris V2 if a timeout is truly bothersome, though i believe many users on here have non-timeout tops... and many who are on here will probably buy an Iris anyways. I will be for sure.

****EDIT: So i was just fudging around, maybe being nosy nerd (trying to see new code put in for new gear:ninja:) , but i checked w9tech.com's source data code and saw this

"
function ageVerify(choice) {

if (choice == yes) {
$.modal.close();
setCookie("ageVerification","yes",1);
} else if (choice == no) {
$.modal.close();

window.location.replace("http://www.dailypuppy.com/");"

Had to try it to see. Low and behold, it was true. Would love to see the spike in daily visits they will have when people read this.

If you dont understand code its saying if you answer YES you are older than 18 years on W9's website you get in. If you answer No, it gives you a redirect window to dailypuppies.com.

Love the humor. A+ to the one behind the CS at your company. :rofl:

Thanks for the response. However with a silly timer it is not "the best of the best" anymore. I feel like I took my Ferrari in for a tune up and it came back with a Pinto transmission. I want my old style head back. Can I send this crippled top in for a replacement?

Just because some people do not read why do I have to suffer? I read the manuals. I pre-ordered both the Omicron and the Persei. I have used my Persei for more than a year with no problems. When I push the button I want power. I do not what to always be looking at the light. I gave it a couple of days and do not like lt. Can I get a correct replacement top?
