So I received my new shorty transfer wand around two weeks ago. The issue is when I insert the wand it doesn't stay in my LSV at all. My old wand I had I can put it and turn it upside down and the wand will not fall out, this new one won't even stay in for a second. My friend was hitting it the other day and it fell out on his lap twice because he forgot to hold it in when he was hitting it. It happened to me a couple times too as well because I forget to hold the wand, its a nuisance and I don't understand it one bit. Its starting to get me irritated because I have to explain to everyone to hold the wand when they release their lips from the wand. I emailed Chris and he said "the wand isn't meant to stick in place, just slide together." I don't understand that then I shouldn't have to hold my wand in just to hit it when my old one didn't do that. This new wands gong(or whatever) joint is longer then the old wands and the top of it has smaller diameter. When I put this new wand in, it almost seems like its too small. He told me there is only one style of glass joints but then why is there a new style on the website.? http://lifesabervaporizer.com/catalog/product/gallery/id/322/image/672/

When I ordered screens I got the 14.8(new style) because I thought and Chris said they should fit but they didn't so they sent me some free ones which were 15.8(old style). So I guess I have to have a old style wand? Doesn't make sense though.. My old wand I could place it in there and even twist it to get it more firm(I was told not to by someone on here) but when I try that on the new one, it doesn't even make it stick one bit.. I don't know what to do because people I can't trust people to hold it every time and if they don't my herbs fall everywhere and the wand has a chance to break. This really sucks.

Another thing to add is I bought a new heating cover a couple months ago and when I put it on my old wand wasn't sitting in place either, Vito told me to be patient and use it some more and it will stick so I did and he was right. I thought this would be the same, are the HC new style and old style too?

Get some EQ screens. They fit over the top of the joint and keep the herbs inside the gong joint. The screen on mine also makes my wand a bit tighter, but not much. Both of my wands and my male/male joint falls freely from the heater cover if held upside down. I see this as a positive so I never have to worry about a seized joint. Some people treat their joints so that they are friction free. Usually, you don't want a super tight joint connection. Just hold the LSV somewhat vertical upward and the wand should stay in place. The EQ screen will keep the herbs in place.

GonG joints are taken from scientific glassware.

In scientific setups, they are not designed to make a seal that will hold the pieces together, they are designed to make an airtight seal.

Keck clips are for holding the setups together if needed, but unfortunately they aren't really available for the LSVs joint setup as far as I know.

I think you just got lucky last time you got a sticky one (Luck because it's your preference, I much prefer a wand that is easy to insert and remove)...

When you hit it, it doesn't stick to your lips and slide out on accident ever?

I probably will try that, I'm not so worried about it falling out on me but more so my friends. It happened twice in 20 minutes. If I hold it vertically upward, it still could get stuck to someones lips and come out like that.

I had that problem with my solo after the retaining ring was broken in but never my LSV. If you are hitting it upright, the weight of the wand should be enough to keep it from sticking to you lips.

Alright I'll just tell people to hit it like that, when I vape hash I try and keep it level so the hash doesn't stick to my HC screen so I guess I'll just hold it till in that circumstances.

Thanks for the quick replies everyone, you guys are extremely helpful.

I hit everything with pursed lips. I don't think I've ever had anything really stick. It's just the way I've always toked on anything.

Edit: Definitely get some EQ screens. You don't ever really have to worry about anything falling on your HC screen again once in place.

So I just tried my SSV fatty wand and about 6 inches whip and the EQ screen inserted as well.

Works like a charm. I think the fatty bowl allows for more airflow through the wand. Seems to make for a better hit.

I've had my LSV for about two days now and for the most part I have positive reviews about it.

I only have two issues with it. First the unit gets really hot, more than warm. So I've learned to turn it down between sessions. I can leave my Surfer and Budda on all day long and they never felt that hot.

My second concern is interesting, it seems really hard to brown the herb. Both Surfer and Budda darken the herb brown. The Lsv stops hitting after a bunch of hits and I think it's spent but the herb never darkens after a certain point. I'll make oil with the left overs.

Overall I'm happy with the unit, I'm going to make it one of my main "go to" units and it seems to be doing that fine.

You may have to pull out your heating element some more. Can you at least see the STD on the side? I had similar issues as yours when I first got my LSV until I pulled out my heating element. On mine I can see the STD-!0. With the heating element pulled out farther I am able to get dark brown abv without turning it up past 2 on the dial. The heat issue was helped a bit, but mostly you will have to turn it down between sessions if you want to keep it on for an extended period of time.

I hang my lsv upside down so I can't leave it turned up either, but I've seen a vertical stand that keeps it cool because it sits with the element up top.

I tried the transfer wand for the first time in forever and a small sliver of glass broke from the bowl of the transfer wand and fell into the bud. I took two more pulls before realizing this could I have inhaled any dangerous toxins ?

21 days since my first contact with Vapornation and 7th floor to solve my problem. Nothing changed. They won't do anything for me

Hmmm. I'd lean harder on Vapor Nation. 7th Floor has no responsibility to replace or pay for anything because you did not purchase directly from them. Vapor Nation may be an authorized dealer, but all 7th Floor can really do is request that Vapor Nation lists and offers the voltage options. Although Vapor Nation is based in the US, they should be aware of and offer vaporizers in different voltage configurations for overseas customers. The fact that they refuse to do anything about this is disheartening and kind of shitty. I wish you luck.

You really have the same thought as me. Like I said before, if you do ship overseas you have to be clear on the product informations. That's the minimum.

A question for those who are proficient with the lsv, Is there a trick for vaporizing your load more evenly with this unit?

I seem to only be able to get small wispy hits before the "face" of herb closest to the heater cover starts to combust on me, forcing me to stir after every hit and I still end up with near black abv. This is all occurring on the lowest heat setting possible (about 8oclock on the dial). This is with a moderate draw speed and using the transfer wand and unit held horizontally.

Am I missing something here, I'm tamping down the load in the transfer wand a little, is this part of my problem?

The heating element may need to be adjusted. I don't have the link at the moment but if you pm lwien I'm sure he will send you the link on readjusting the heating element. I never combusted in mine but have had similar problems as you and readjusting the element fixed everything

I'll post it up here so others who haven't seen it and may be experiencing similar problems can try and fix it.

As per 7th Floor:
---------------------------------
Thanks for contacting 7th Floor. I will provide you instructions on how to keep the heater element in place, but keep in mind, you could pull or cross wires which would render the unit broken and you would have to send it to us for repairs. It sounds like you need to keep the heater element in place and this could fix all your problems. Pull the heating element up gently and hold the cap and shim down, to prevent the cap and shim from being pulled out. On the side of the heating element, close to the bottom as it is coming out of the cap, you will see the letters "STD-". Pull the heating element out til you see the dash and then slightly twist. Slightly twist. This should hold the heating element in place.

Here's a pic of how it should look after adjustment:
