Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud

My cloud seems to be offgassing. Its giving a terrible burnt plastic smell from the bottom. This is after a few days ago from normal use the glass heating element rod slid down. Not too far, but past the legs a bit. Now I'm getting this bad smell and visible vapor or smoke coming up from bottom of the cloud when I just hold it upside down with a ELB in it. Whats going on??

I can't get a hold of Vapexhale labs!
If the shaft slipped below the legs and you ripped it, you vaped any debris on the surface. That could explain why it's off gassing.

have you tried to start a support ticket . that seems to be the first step. I would hold off using it until I talked to someone. sounds like some type of warranty issue to me.

Sorry to hear that bro. I just don't get how all the issues are happening now all at once. I know it's only a few isolated cases here and there, but at this rate it could put a holy shit face on VXL's warranty dept.

It's not anything getting sucked up. i did use full melt wax in it alone in an ELB, which was a teribble idea, it stuck all over inside the gong. But that burning up in side wouldn't smell like burning electronics. So I'm just confused here, could it be left over ISO from my ELB? But I rinsed and even baked them like it said. I can't send VXL a ticket it won't go through.

Sorry to hear about the off-gassing. I just tried logging a support ticket and it seemed to work fine. Can you try a different browser? If that doesn't work, just PM me and we'll get the ball rolling on figuring out what is wrong with your unit.

@stonemonkey55--- Received an email around 9am e.s.t. regarding my warranty issue, replied back and was told I'd get an email on how to proceed shortly. That was around 10am e.s.t.

Understood, our team has been at a wedding and in transit today so Troi will be getting back to you shortly. Apologies for the delay, but we will make sure you get taken care properly.

Thanks, sm55. I appreciate it very much.

I can't wait to put this killer Hydra circ to use. Very impressive and honestly exceeded my expectations for the hydra tube.

This confuses me a bit. Isn't "all the issues are happening now all at once" somewhat at odds with "it's only a few isolated cases here and there"? And why would a few occasional failures overload VXH's warranty handling? By my count there have been reported here 3 Cloud failures and 1 HT failure; am I missing something?

I thought it was more than that. But what I meant was that it was all smooth sailing, everyone was loving their clouds and then all of a sudden people started reporting the ticking, glass tubes being pushed in, odd smells, it was ALL already discussed in a post a page back i think.

VXL has enough on their plate with preorders and just getting this business running smoothly. The last thing they need are support tickets on top of it.

Don't you know that 1 complaint equals 1 billion outraged customers?
That means there's already 4 billion upset people out there!
[/family guy reference]

More cloud related, seeing as manufacturing/distribution/whatever needs to is going to "ramp up" soon, am I jumping the gun to ask for a rough timeframe for when a Aus/Eu version will begin to be available?

I very nearly jumped on the one that is in the classefieds section now, but I'd rather wait for a proper aus version than deal with transformers.

Edit:
I've been just sorta casually following the thread since I know there's no au version yet, but I thought the ticking was pretty much established as soon as people started getting the clouds, it's just that for a few people that's a deal breaker.
And the number of faulty units seems reasonable for a tech-type release IMO.

Vapexhale took care of me quick after I posted, great service. The offgassing could have been from oil getting in my cloud so the only real problem I had is my heater cover slid down a 1/8 of an inch or so, showing its not attached tight enough. So I wouldn't say there are all sorts of problems with this thing or anything.

Yes, it was discussed a page back or so - one of those posts was mine. :) As I wrote there, after the noise (like the ticking, no pun intended) is separated from actual legitimate product problems, there have only been a very small number of the latter. The reason those issues were reported "all at once" is because initially shipments were being metered at a very slow rate and then there was a volume step up such that a much larger number of units were received within a short time frame. All in all VXH is running at roughly a 2% return rate. Given this is well within the norm, I would be extremely surprised if the crew had not planned for it.

The Instructions also say that the ticking/buzzing sound (from The Cloud™ not inside your head  ) Was normal and to be expected as it is the sound of the electronics smoothing out.

The ticking shouldn't be an issue, ESPECIALLY if it's in the instructions lol The glass heater cover needs to be addressed.

Do you guys think its safe to clean the inside of the gong with ISO and a qtip, then water, then let it all burn off?

Also the ticking is NORMAL not a problem, Iv'e come to like it, it means we are clouding.

So, looking at the classified ad mentioned above, B. got a second cloud and is trading/selling one. Interesting but disappointing that he got 2.....I am absolutely assuming, but that's how it appears.

IIRC SM explained that there was a glitch in the web page ordering software that unintentionally allowed for more than 1 unit to be ordered, and that situation was corrected.

Where did you leave it with VXH? I would want to be sure that the movement of the air shaft didn't break a seal or create an opening where conceivably a liquid could make its way into the electronics.

It could of but to be honest I am still using the cloud. Only once with a friend right when we put the ELB in and turned the unit upside down, vapor was coming out of the bottom, it didn't really smell like weed. I think it could of been trace ISO left on ELB. I know it could be unsafe to use the cloud because of this, but the vapor is as pure as ever taste wise. I am not so concerned because this smell only comes when an ELB is in, it could be the particles on the outside of the ELB burning. I'm gonna clean it and put it to the test today. I'm concerned the heating cover moving down can happen with any cloud, I hope not.

imho with the unit warm i would try long q-tips with iso on it, but I would definitely get a hold of sm first and see what he says. Water doesn't sound like a good idea to me. The elb's I fired off new with a bic and never had to use iso to clean them. I just vape them empty at ten o'clock. I don't think that the cloud is meant for oil but I would try a abv or herb bed. the glass path in my unit is rock solid. Imo that sounds like a warranty issue to me.

Mine seems rock solid too, but lots of use, especially upside down on a bong, caused it to slowly move. If the machine does't have this attached besides being wedged between the two sides, I'm worried this is just a problem that will happen even if I get a new one. Has anyone else noticed this happen as well?

Also I figured out the offgassing was just from the oil that was in the heater cover, not the electronics or anything.

Nothing in the vapor path can be exposed to the electronics.

There are problems that only with mass use and mass production, start to show up. It happens to the best products, iPhone 4S had that big problem that made the batteries go puff in a jiffy.

As a future Cloud owner, i must confess i was finding it odd that all the units were flawless. :D

I am sure you will be taken care off Nosferatu, and i believe your concern is rather valid and pertinent.
