I hardly do just because it's one extra part to take care of – I recommend extra screens to those who try to achieve 100% even abv, for me personally it works fine just as it comes out of the box.

Um... actually that sounds like the indicator for the reached temp. :-)
I get it now! On demand mode requires holding down the trigger until it vibrates then drawing! Awesome, thank you.

love the woodwork on this thing! Feels awesome in the hands. 10/10

Do most of you guys add an extra screen in front of the screen heater at the bottom?

does your light stay red even if it’s finished? When I plug it in it doesn’t turn on...maybe it’s charged already.

On demand mode, what’s the vibrate mean after 5-6 seconds of drawing?

Like @Siebter said, it sounds like it’s the indicator that it’s reached the set temp and ready for you to start your draw.

There are reports of unexpectedly high heat levels and I think even combustion from people drawing early at higher temp settings, so be careful if you are actually starting your draws when you press the button! I don’t *think* it really hurts anything, but it does make the heater fight you to get up to temp and that can lead to unexpected results.

Edit: You replied as I was typing this; that’s why it sounds like I ignored what you said...I still think this is useful info so I’ll leave the rest of the post as it is. :)

You only have to work once ... when assembling the mod and inserting it into the TM exactly like the original screen and the benefits are many and evident

You can finetune how easy the tube will slide in & out by carefully adjusting the ring on top of the tube holder.

I already told Ville about this and he told me i was right. the inner aluminum tube is 1mm longer in length than it should be and the height of the wood has slight variations from device to device.
My upper ring that holds the o-ring is completely tight and the stem slides smoothly because I reduced the length of the aluminum tube by 1mm. It is not something you can do without a caliper and a 1000 grit sandpaper

Tried the TM last night.

Coolness factor is great. Although, at this point I'm not overly impressed with the performance. Most likely this is caused by my technique errors. I found that my lips were uncomfortably warm after the unit heated up (5.5). I loaded the stem with a fair amount of flower. More than I use with the Mighty and Splinter. Unfortunately, I did not get medicated. I resorted to the Splinter to medicate.

Tonight I will try again with the longer glass stem and hope for better results.

Try as @Siebter advised ... more greens than in the mighty ?? maybe half and repeat?

While the others are probably correct that you put a bit too much, I propose another theory. 5.5 is very low for my device, I woudl barely get visible vapor like this. But when I turn it up to 7 or 8, the clouds are MASSIVE, like jungle dnb MASSIVE. I'll get 2-3 hits at that temp then it dies off and I need to stir and bump up to 8-9 to get any more.

I believe you may have just had it too low, thus you heated the whole device up too slow to get the results needed but still got it hot enough to burn your mouth. You shouldn't need to hit it more than 3 times.

As for anyone having trouble with getting it started. It's weird but sometimes I need 6 clicks to get it going. When I first click the button 3 times it just turns it on, it doesn't put it into either Session or on demand mode. I then have to click the button 3 more times (and hold it if I want session mode) for it to enter on demand mode. The next time I click the button 3 times, it turns off off. So it's really 6 clicks (3 + 3) to get any sort of action, at least for mine, and only sometimes like when I leave it for a while.

I haven’t really used it yet, just played around. Will report back. All looks awesome though. 4 buzzes upon starting it up! Love the look and feel!

I get get choking hits with good amount of visible vapor at 5.5 and 6. I do not need to go over that. Maybe try pulling a little harder on your draw. I do not draw very long and have a ramped up firm draw with the TM and a medium sized rig.

I have no idea what to tell you if you do not use a rig though.....

Yeah, the TM is not really build to provide mouth-to-lung puffs. I don't use it with a rig, but still hit it pretty much like I would hit a bong or the like. The wide diameter of the tube hints that too I think.

And there's no need to control the draw in any way, the heating element can easily keep up with it.

@Bazinga

Were you packing this much or more?

I don't recall the exact temperature I had for that load. I think I finished on 8. I've packed more and started at 3.5 and made my way up, eventually finishing on 8. It isn't cooked perfectly even when you pack that much but I'm still happy with the results. Smaller loads no deeper than the width of the stem are cooked to perfection imo.

That’s a solid amount!

I need a stem for a rig and a new cool rig, any suggestions? Price doesn’t matter!

They aren't all going to work the same. The instructions say "start at 6". So they know it's goign to change based on your own particular resistance.

@murf2010

Sometimes I get really silly.

I don't have an AVB picture from that one but it turned out pretty good. I started at 3.5 and I was in terpene heaven. The more I pack the lower I keep the temps, at least initially so it cooks more evenly.

This is why I think he just needs to turn it up, I've put a lot as well and still got huge clouds.

There are quite a few variables to consider when you try to compare performance, but I'm pretty sure the coils resistance is not one of them. The resistance of a low mass coil can indeed fluctuate significantly (coils from some 510 devices come to mind), but the TMs coil is huge, which most likely results in a very narrow resistance range.

It can still matter... Why would you bother splitting hairs on how "much" it can fluctuate?? It can be a difference of someone having theirs at 6 and someone else needing to set it at 6.5 for the same result. What other variables do you think are responsible?

I think that’s at least part of the reason there’s a hidden menu option to adjust the temperature range. You can apparently adjust it by the equivalent of +/-3 numbers on the dial, and it sounds like some people do need that to get good performance at lower settings.

the very first pull i had yesterday I had on about 4.5 got a huge lungful! so turned it down to 3.5, then back up to about 5. after that it tasted nasty and the ABV was nicely toasted to my liking. So I don't thin i'll be going above 5/6

anyone know what mode its in when you just press the button twice from off? if i do that, then pause any further presses of the button makes it buzz once. But its not in standby mode as if you hold the button it just buzzes but doesn't turn the heater on. another three presses turns it on into standby mode.

So from what I’ve gathered the milaana mouthpiece fits upside down in the TM. What specs do I need to lookin for when buying a new glass rig? New to the rig thing but not the vaping thing. If anyone has a favorite site to buy from LMK!

Dhgate is like the Amazon for glass. Perhaps Alibaba too though I don’t frequent that often. Lots of inexpensive knockoffs depending on what you want, how much you want to spend, and how quick you want it (most of it comes from Asia).

I believe you’re correct about the Milaana stem from what i recall from herein; I don’t have one and use the TM stock stem.

My TM kicked my butt again last night finishing off a load with 4 draws on 7.5. Nice vapor, not too warm and wonderful, deep and long effect. It’s my go-to vape over my Hopper - love the TM! :peace:

I can see a difference in a .5 step like you mention...but not 2 whole steps in power. But, you never know unless you check many units for resistance or heat temps. I feel like some people have different experience with vapor quantity because of the stem and packing method they use...combined with draw technique...but draw technique is not that wide of variance to results with this vape....pretty much draw normal or slightly harder than normal and you get what the TM is capable of.

I will be getting my second one very soon and it will be interesting to see if they act the same as far as the heating setting.

The RBT stems are 18mm, but you can use any rig you want.....as adapters will allow the 18mm make joint the RBT stems are. I use a simple grav 1/4 adapter (one also use as a slightly smaller Elev8r bowl), and then use that on my various 14mm joint rigs.
