Brilliant Cut Grinder

Anyone know how the Brilliant Cut's medium plate grind compares to the Cali Crusher Homegrown? In the market for a second grinder... form and function are kind of whatever. I mostly only care about the end result.

I love my Homegrown more than anything, but it's hard to ignore the constant hype I'm always hearing about the Brilliant Cut lol Figured I'd ask.

My order finally shipped -- took nearly two months but only because I wanted their newly introduced Ruby colored plates.
  • 09/08/19 - Ordered a Brilliant Cut Grinder with 3 different colored plates.

  • 09/23/19 - 15 days later, they started to offer Ruby colored plates so I asked them to change my order which delayed my order.

  • 10/27/19 - 49 days since my order, it shipped! Shipping from Canada and they were nice enough to upgrade my shipping to include tracking. Tracking says it is scheduled to arrive by 11/05/19. I live in Southern California so looks like it will take up to 9 days from shipping to arrive. According to the tracking information, it may arrive a few days earlier depending on Customs.
If it arrives on 11/05/19, that means it took 58 days for my order to arrive from my initial order.

Update to my post:

  • 09/08/19 - Ordered a Brilliant Cut Grinder with 3 different colored plates.

  • 09/23/19 - 15 days later, they started to offer Ruby colored plates so I asked them to change my order which delayed my order.

  • 11/01/19 - 54 days since my order, it arrives. (39 days if you want to account for when I emailed them to change my colors)

A tip for anyone who wants a Brilliant Cut grinder sooner: Don't order any colored plates. Order only silver plates. They probably have a bunch of uncolored grinders and those will probably ship sooner since they don't have to add color to them. Email them to double check.

They are pretty easy to get a hold of....I email them and get responses in 24 hours all the time.

Try emailing them and asking for current stock, or when certain colors are going to be made. I told them I wanted a Onyx coarse plate and it was not available until they did a run. They told me when to expect it to be available and less than a month later I got the invoice for payment and just completed the order today.

But I would also assume if you just order silver stock will be available most of the time.

I'm not sure that the silver are shipping any faster. I ordered a silver full set on 9-18, shipped 10-19, delivered 10-25. Though I suppose it depends what they have on hand at the time. I'm not bothered at all with the wait since I knew to expect it. Very pleased with the grinder, it lives up to the high expectations set by this thread. My initial preference is for the medium plate for use with the e-nano.

I really started to resent unscrewing my old grinder multiple times a day while waiting for the BCG. My routine is smoother and faster now, and my wrists are happy. I like how easily I can palm the top to twist, rather than using my fingers. It's amazing to me that it took so long for someone to produce a threadless grinder, but very glad it finally happened. Big thanks to everyone who played a part in designing and testing this, it turned out great. What have the other guys been doing all these years?

After injuring my tendons multiple times on a overfilled Quick Grinder V3, I finally decided to pull the trigger on BCG back in September. And the fact that $10 Air mail shipping was an option, did help to make the decision.. After a bunch of research, I settled on the Medium Hematite variety (Ruby & Amethyst weren't an option back then, I think)
Finally received my BCG this week on Monday and have been marveling over it since:love:
The ease of use, the grind consistency, the usability, durability, the engineering and the build quality.. All simply superb:clap:And it also frickin' looks so cool! :D

Ordered from Northern Europe on 15th of September and it was shipped out 34 days later on 19th of October, hitting customs 10 days later, I declared it as a "Other grinding appliances" (EU TARIC 8479820000) paying ~15 EUR of tax for it and then received the package in my mail box this Monday 4th of November.

So for a total of around 100 EUR and 7 weeks of waiting, I finally got a grinder that is truly a pleasure to use and own! Love it! :luv::leaf:

To make things even better. Couple of days later I received the all new VapCap Colored M in Phantom color:

PS. First day I was playing with my BCG, I accidentally knocked it off the table, hitting straight against a sharp corner of my tables steel leg.. The black coating on the leg chipped but BCG took no damage at all, not even a mark on it! :o So I can vouch for its durability already.. ;)
