So when the stem is in a container, what do you guys use to keep debris out of the heater when keeping the unit say in a coat pocket

The screen should be enough to protect the heater. For extra care though, a cork works well, I have an 19/22mm tapered one from Alan. I bet Delta3D could make something good too...

Just got my “u.s made” splinter z. Getting huge clouds at 24 watts on a Rdna 40. Love things thing!! How do you guys feel bout “China made” splinters. I was thinking bout getting a splinter v2 for more of a compact on the go use.

Are they made in China? Or are they just parts from China put together by Ryan?

From my understanding the V1 and 2 are manufactured in China but assembled in the US for quality control until Ryan feels confident enough to move production entirely to China while he focuses on exotic models and other projects.

The Chinese Splinter v1 is the only one I've tried. It's amazing and I'd recommend it to most anyone. The fit and finish of the V1 is first rate. The v2 and the ZV1 also look good to me but I haven't tried them.

V1 and v2 are made completely in China is what I was told by the rbt retailers. And that the quality is good. I trust Ryan, All of my rbt were made in the u.s.

So i m waiting for my v2.

Do I need to do a cleaning burn off when I first get the China model,to rid of any manufacturers oil/chemicals? Never had to do this before with rbt. And Do you guys think the quality is as good as the ones made in the US? China’s cool most of the time... but my health still concerns me. Thanks guys!

See the china models are out. Anyone running them on the FC share files?

I have V2 coming to use on my bronze RXdna250 and was wondering if the settings will carry over from OG splinter... ZV1 also has ceramic instead of mica like V2, will that make a difference?

Hi together, I just received my Splinter Z from vapefiend (unbelievably quick delivery btw) and I quickly realized, that the glass lining inside the Splinter was really loose, it even slid out completely and rattled. I quickly put the glass lining back in place and it is hopefully secure now. I was just wondering if someone had this problem already and if it could develop into a problem later on?

Never had that problem with rbt. Is it a China model? Ryan’s got great customer service, but I believe all customer services is done through the retailer now? I’m probably wrong.

I honestly don't know exactly, but I believe it is still one of the US models?

I already sent an email to vapefiend and I'm positive, that I'll quickly receive an answer, but I wanted to ask you all nevertheless.

Ah, took me so long to write and edit: I had the exact same prob with my Z the second day I used it. But you're in luck, same as me you bought it from Vapefiend and their customer service was as fast as the Z is heating up ;) - just mail the guys and it will be all good.

Pretty sure I have a US Model too, and pretty sure this is a known issue as it's explicitly mentioned on RBT's warranty info page. In case you want to fix it yourself or it's happening after warranty: In their FAQ they mention the name of the 2-component glue that was used and Ryan has just recently issued a video on his instagram showing how to repair it, so he can probably share it with you.

Btw: just bought the cooling mouthpiece (the short one) and man, is that a game changer - super cool and smooth! Have to figure out yet how to clean it but I guess filling it with 96% rubbing alcohol should do the trick just fine.

Thanks for your quick reply.

I think it is now quite secure in place, but I just want to make sure it won't be a problem down the road. I'm not in a hurry anyway, as I'm waiting for my box mod to arrive :)

The glass should be securely glued in place & not move. Have VF make an exchange.

Thanks for your advice. VF already emailed back and I'm going to send it back tomorrow, the support from VF is outstanding! Hopefully next week I'll have it back, really excited to try the Z.

Edit: I thought I read somewhere, that you can use the XL8R stem on the tubo but cannot find it anymore. Could anyone confirm that?

Yes all RBT stems fit in Tubo and other 18mm vapes, just not always the reverse

Does anyone know if the XL8Rs on the VGOODIEZ site the Chinese versions with thinner glass or the ones that RBT was making?

Some of them also say 19x19 in the description do you should be good. I think they’re all (most) the “standard” size
