I've been getting massive clouds without double heating since I got my technique and pack down.

Well please endulge the forum as to your technique so newcomers can try it.

Looking forward to packing a fresh bowl of GSC tonight. Couldn’t probably get s few more hits out of my ABV but that’s okay. Nothing beats a fresh bowl. Still seeing exhaled vapor on an almost completely browned bowl. This vape is wild.

Basically I pack the vape with very fine grind to about 80% full. I don't necessarily tamp, I just sorta move the herb around so it's nice and uniform. I assemble the unit and make sure all the silicone pieces are as in place as possible to avoid any airflow leaks or seal breaks.

I power on the device and hold the trigger until green. Then I let go and do not draw. (only on the first heatup after turning it on). Then I do it again, heat until green and draw for the full 15 or so seconds until it stop heating with the vibrate. I do this for 1-2 hits on medium temp as I feel the herb dry out and the terpenes get released (overwhelmingly mouthwatering). The entire time I keep button side down like @stickstones. I go to my temp 4 or 5 setting which is around 415-450 and I'll wait for the heatup (normally a long heatup with the big jump in temp, I tend to get better results when these long heatups hit. I pull for 1-2 seconds then do a 'puff' to see if any vapor is being produced. Depending on the thickness of that little puff I'll change my draw. For example if that puff produces a solid puff of vapor, I know the vape is heated and already producing vapor fast and I'll speed up my draw. With this increase in draw, I can get a massive cloud before the auto shutoff, I'm often finding myself not running to the second vibrate with this technique. If I do a puff and the vapor is super super whispy and barely producing, I'll keep my draw slow until I feel it build in my mouth then speed it up. Or I'll just use that hit as another preheat and try again with the next hit to get that good puff to increase vapor. Sometimes the vapor comes in so thick I do not need to do that puff because it is blatantly obvious I'm getting a large hit, I normally do the puff right when I switch temps as the vape is still cool and it's difficult to tell right away if I'm getting vapor because it is so smooth.

This is one of the few convection vapes I've ever owned where the vapor is produced nearly instantly after drawing. Most require the air to sit in the herb for a while before it starts producing, I'll puff right when the light turns green and almost instantly have vapor producing, it's pretty great!

Does anyone have a temp for 1-2 hit full extraction?

455?
Considering how large the bowl is, I think you'd have to have massively strong lungs to pull off hits that big. If I wanted to though and had the ability to, 430-455 would be able to.

Very interesting technique. Very detailed post. Very nice. Will help a lot of other people. I do not vape passed 395. You have some high temperatures you use. I do not fine grind. I use to. Now I just use a standard 4pc grinder. I feel yoynon the draw speed. Sometimes I go so slow and hard I can feel the vapor building up like mad and can’t draw for the full 10 seconds. It’s wild how it can build up sometimes. I have noticed when your abv is almost fully brown and you are almost done the bowl vapor gets a lot less but still present.

Thanks for your detailed post about your technique. Right now I just vape green tea, but that’s what I had also in mind. Will Test it next week. I tried to measure optically the amount of vapour in my vapcap, so I know round about how much I could get. So I try to get a feeling how it should feel, if the optimum vapour is in my throat so that the testcheck, which you do with your puff, isn’t necessary. Was getting some clouds out of green tea, which is good.

I also get massive clouds without double pressing. I used to do it before my firmware issue was fixed as my max temp could only be 410. Now I start @ 450 and work my way up. Warm up hit and every hit after that are massive clouds, I can completely extract a bowl in 5 hits. I only fine grind now , for me it brings the darkest most even ABV, that's why I do it. I don't use this vape a flavour device or a sipper even though it's great at it. This is my on the go , quick massive rip or two ( I call them tune ups ) and put away device. Stealthy , Fast with a 1-2 punch, has made my grasshoppers redundant. Don't be afraid to turn up the heat you won't combust until you get over 460f and I bet some of you could even overpower the heater at that temp.

I don’t get how you guys can handle such hot temperatures on your units? Sometimes on fresh bowls at 395 the heat bugs me. 430 and higher has to be some warm vapor for sure. Mind you I’m curious to do a bowl at 430 or 440 to see how much cloud I can get. I think I’m gonna make a new setting for when I’m out drinking starting at 410 haha. But very rarely use that setting.

Yep, genuine green tea. Vaping green tea has some benefits compared to drinking it in hot water.
1. Taste is concentrated but not bitter.
2. it’s like an caffeine Shot. Since you absorb the ingredients via your lungs and not your intestines, the onset of the caffeine is only a few minutes.

Embrace what nature holds for you. Cannabis is not the only herb ;)

And I can’t afford to be stoned right now :p but the square needs to be tested :)

When you look at the increase in temp between 395f - 430f it's only about an 8.9% rise in temperature. So you may not notice it too much.

It's warm for sure, but for me much smoother in comparison to many other vaporizes I've tried. It still shocks me every so often to see how much vapour actually comes out when I exhale. And I'm coming from a Flower Pot as my DD!

I like to have a drink on the go with convection vapes, I find the long draw times tend to dry out and irritate my throat if I don't throw some hydration in the mix.

Yes drinking with this vape is a must. I made a mistake the one day and was drinking mad Dr. Pepper. I got some carbonation stuck in my chest and couldn’t burb it out. Was the worst. Took me about 2 hours to get it out. I get mad pasties at 395 for sure. I may try the higher temperatures for the weekend while drinking.

WOW!!!! My first real bowl of wax!

Got Win 10, set highest 480. Dab buttered on one pad, oil up, lid on.

480 hit from green till time out. 2 1/2 HUGE flavorful hits. Smallest leak outside the lid.

Loving the App!

Update: Yep, another concentrate bowl, still stellar performance. But maybe 480 is too high. Smoke/vapor coming out of the silicone lid when I took it apart after my last hit.

I gotta stop being lazy and press some rosin tonight with a hair straightener haha. I wanna try concentrate in this. Why haven’t I?

I’m thinking 460, 465 for concentrate?

Seeing people have been getting the latest phase for the pro version, anyone seeing many issues? i really want this vape! Long time smoker and used friends vapes before and this just seems perfect if the issues are ironed out :)

Edit: Also hows the delivery time to the UK? If any UK users know, cheers!

@AJS and others. Do you find that you almost always need a warm up hit if you let it sit a few minutes between hits?

I find the more hits in quick succession the more vapor....but if I push it I can combust.
For the most part. On higher temps I can get a good ripper from a cold start tho. This thing definitely works well as a session vape tho with repeated hits.

Edit:

Changed my temps a bit. 395, 415, 430 440 455. I'll mostly use the high 3, low 2 for flaves on the first few hits of a greens bowl.

@AJS you hitting concentrates at 455.

I kicked up my temps to 385, 400, 415, 425, 470 for concentrates. This vape handles temps that would destroy your throat with others. Loving 415, 425 2 warm up hits then 5-7 finish the bowl.

Doing hits back to back produces some nice vapour I’ve noticed. But when you don’t do it the vapor isn’t that noticeably different. Probably do to residual heat left ofer

Interesting stuff here. Thanks all for the great info.

I have been trying out higher temps to see how they do, and I seem to get more consistent results with a wider range of herb when using 450.

But there’s an oddness I have noticed. If I set my temp to anything under 450, I get fairly short heat-up times, but as soon as I hit 450 it suddenly takes quite a bit longer to turn green. Maybe that’s the reason I get good results at that temp. It seems to be some kind of sweet spot.

I have to use shorter draws, except for the starting one which heats the bowl. But once the bowl is heated, the short draw is all I need. I can adjust the length of draw to adjust how much vapor I get.

Seems to work well with wet or dry herb, medium ground. I have not tried fine grind.

I don’t think the herb is actually reaching 450, but that setting produces a very hot air stream which gets the vapor going. I never have to double press, that’s for sure.

Just putting this out there. It’s worth trying.

Edit: Forgot to mention, bowls last a long time using this method (12 or more draws), and the ABV gets nice and brown. Battery drains rather fast, but it always does.

Guys I will be the first to say I am a dipshit....ok was having bad air flow restriction couldn't hear much from vent ...tried everything three times over... By end of day I was sending her back....then my contact at Haze emailed me back at 6am ( can I get a clap for Haze CS???????) She said SOAK your pods... check your air filters...I was sure vent was blocked....well....I always ensure I check holes in pods in between uses to make sure all open ....well they weren't open ALL the way.... after soak Bam! Back in business! Hope it helps!
