Almost there...
Decided to get to know my SH a bit better!
Everyone is rockin' those high temps these days, i presume without the cap.

It was a nice ride at the higher temps but the feeling of thinner vapor was starting to get to me...
I had to experiment with the ShowerCap post haste!!

My usual OGFP 16mm temp is 680 and capped, every load is perfect!
Same temp with the SH but uncapped, results varied due to dryness of herb imo.

So i dropped the temp a lot and experimented a lot...
Settled on 613F capped and a slower draw rate and it is pretty damn good!!
Micro doses like a tank and milks up easily!
Great flavor and effects!!

I am not too sure on weights of material per load due to my scale not wanting to tell me...LOL!!
When i load up my herb in the EQ basket i turn the scale on and weight till it zero's out and ndump the herb on top. The numbers go up to 0,03g and briefly stop and then it zero's out as if nothing is on the scale... new batteries and calibration done! Palmscale 8.
Guess i am the king of micro-doses!!! LOL!

No pre-heating of anything and i am loving the hits!

Yep, low temp rules! I'm currently at 590F unheated, uncapped, whole nugs.
Break nugs apart from hit to hit. Flavour saver at it's best!
While in use bowl is getting pre-heated with it's known effects.
When vapour is nearly not visible anymore I cap the bowl for a last standing of a thinner Vapour.
Worked the last week best for me. Nearly no irritating of bronchias, best flavour.
It's my favourite vape for sure all things considered.
But am falling in love with my new Sup v3 too. Don't like the hassle with torching to wished temp very much but vapour is so smooth and tasty... just a little higher learning curve.

so I am using the pan head bowl wth the shower head. currently at 680deg loading micro doses of one scoop of fine grind herb. I get one really nice tasty hit and then one more. If I go to a third hit, I get some vapor but it tastes like shit (aka popcorn). Ive just given up on that third hit and leave a little extra in the ABV for some edibles. Just cant justify going after every little bit. Rather load a fresh bowl then deal with bad taste. Vaping has me really spoiled I rarely ever use combustion anymore.

Is a 18mm bowl worth it if i already have a non adjustable 14mm one? also should i get a coil cover? I stupidly bought the showerhead kit without the coil cover since I got the sic wraparound with an enclosed coil originally. The coil has this white powder and the heat resistant glue that covers where they poured the white powder but it fell of probably because i'm just using a tin tray and the glue stuff proably rubbed off on the side of the tray which is bullshit but they gave me the choice to get either a normal coil or another enclosed coil. I chose the normal one since i didint want that happening again. Is the coil make it work better. I heard it makes the heat up time longer which i couldent give less of a shit since it's really quick already.

But i dont want to order just the cover since I might want the 18mm bowl but thats 50$ so I'm like buying another vape basically. I might just look out for someone offering a used 18mm adjusta bowl and a coil cover. But I'm not sure how i could tell if it was a v2 adjustabowl or a v1 since paying like 40$ for something that potentially could suck and have a leaky air flow would really piss me off.

Does the 18mm hit better? I feel like if i want a massive hit i have to make like a tower in the center of the bowl since that gets browned the most. but i could spread it out more if it was 18mm. Also I just bought the new CCG peice https://www.dhgate.com/product/ccg-2017-new-arrival-glass-bongs-glass-oil/407151574.html

I don’t think the 18mm bowl hits any better than the 14mm ones imo. The coil cover is nice and will help keep your temps more stable. I’d get the coil cover for sure and if you feel you really need the 18mm bowl pick that up as well.

Is the ID of the 18mm bigger than the 14mm? I could've sworn I read that they were the same ID with just a different OD.

For the OG Bowl with handle, the IDs are the same. You can even see on the website how much thicker the post on the 18mm is compared to 14mm.

I only have the 18mm post for panhead and not the 14mm post yet.

Edit.

Pulled out the calipers.

The 18mm post for the panhead has a larger ID at 12.58mm compared to the 14mm stubby or og bowl at about 11.06mm

pretty high ,So the 18mm adjustabowl has a larger hole? It musthit diffrent with a larger brown spot so small hits can bbigger and more spread out.

I haven't had my FlowerPot for very long, but I'm an old hand with a Sticky Brick Jr... And the FlowerPot with ShowerHead kind of kicks the Brick's ass.

I love my Brick, but it requires technique and you have to pay some attention while hitting it. The FlowerPot requires none of that, just dial in the temp you want, put the head over the bowl, and hit it as hard and as long as you can.

I think I get fuller extraction with the FlowerPot, and I think it's heating the bowl more evenly than the Brick, though stirring after each hit is probably a good idea for either of them.

Could still be the honeymoon phase, but if you have to chose between them, I think the FlowerPot is a stronger vape.

I wish there was an adjustable carb cap. The standard one that came with the kit has very small inlet. Would be nice to be able to adjust the size of the aperture and allow more or less air flow depending upon your likes.
That would be cool as well. I'm still itching for a glass bowl though. Started talking with some glass blowers to see if they could build it for me. We'll see.

My only complaint about constantly SCing is the 'fiddling' feeling. I prefer the simpler approach with just placing the head on and inhaling. When I do SC, I remove the threaded tool from the cap completely and just leave the SC on permanently for the night/session. This way I don't have the dabber weighing it down and reduces the chance of the SC falling off during use.

On the other hand, my wife and brother seem to HATE when I have it setup in "SC Mode". Every time I'm doing it, after a few pulls, one of them will ask if we can take it off haha

Glass bowls are getting more popular. Hopefully Newvape can beat some of these other folks to market. I bet that new ELEV8R could be used with the SH. Might not be a perfect fit but I bet it would work. If I get one I'm going to experiment.

We really need glass bowls....I can not say that enough @NewVape420 :D

It doesn't really function as a carb cap when you start adding adjustable airflow though. CCA710 tried adjustable carb caps and they didn't go over well at all.

I'm not necessarily convinced I get the vacuum pressure reduction in boiling point when carbing flowers at all. The whole point of a carb cap is to add convection heat to a conduction dab. It doesn't add more convection to an already convective flower vape hit, it just slows down airflow IMO. I just use my lungs to adjust airflow which seems to work better for me.

Both blow that whistle big time! I had the Jr for a little while. Awesome vape w/ BIG clouds & a intense high. After a few days w/ the SH, the FlowerPot I would say delivers a little bit more in both of the above departments. Though, I think that speaks to the awesomeness & power of the SBJ! Tastes great too!

I'm still itching for a glass bowl though
Gonna try something similar later today w/ a 14mm M-F adapter w/ a Vapocane screen. A glass bowl would be titties!
