Personally... I leave mine on 24/7 though. On/off cycles wear out the coil faster. I'm sure realistically it's not too bad of a worry - especially since it's the ONLY "consumable" portion of the FP besides screens I guess? if you wanna count those

Yeah man, and at only $35 for a coil, no big deal. Do you let it sit at any temp, or do you lower to say something like 300-500 so it's ready to go in a minute? I'm guessing the coil doesn't draw much hydro to be left on constantly?

Not really needed? More of a "nice to have" to help retain some heat and provide a touch more protection against the coil?
Thanks for clarifying that, I really wasn't sure and did suspect your answer might be the case.
Not intimate like @Alexis and @ichibaneye needing to get a room (bro love respect!),
 I was waiting for that exact joke actually! I nearly made it myself, but I thought I would let someone else have the fun.;)
Just to be clear though I truly appreciate everybody who is posting in this thread, but you know me, I'm all heart really and can get a bit carried away with my emotions.
Big love and respect to all in case anybody feels left out.
And just like yourself Biohacker, this has genuinely become my favourite thread. I really can't tear myself away you know, I have been feeling out of place actually, not being a Flowerpot owner or user (thus far). I feel like I need to get a licence in order to continue taking part.

@Alexis forgot about your herbo.... just buy this thing trust me man! ZERO irritation, discomfort, and you KNOW how sensitive I am that I can only use a certain vape, like the sv3 because no grinding was required. However, with the SH, I can grind without issues whatsoever, it's THAT smooth. I can't even feel the vapour in my lungs....zero heat. Pure convection heaven. The girlfriend would NEVER EVER be able to vape ground material in the sv3.... no problem with the SH.

Thanks for this man, I was kind of expecting you to say this going by your posts yesterday. I will certainly take this on board and mull it over. I could already tell deep down (and on the surface), especially based on @lazylathe 's sudden ditching of the Herbo Ti and NO looking back, that the Showerhead flowerpot is surely a superior vaporizer.

And you know I want the best, don't want to feel short changed in any way if I can have "numero uno"!

And I'm really not surprised that you prefer the Flowerpot to the Supreme. If your revelation hadn't beat me to it, it was on my mind to jest with the other members what your verdict would be between the Flowerpot and SV3, and start taking bets!
My money was firmly on the Flowerpot coming out on top, and I'm honestly thrilled that this is working out so well for you. I'm sure it's going to take your vape happiness to a new level!

Fingers crossed @VapeFiend.com can make this considerably more affordable for us UK members to see if I can pull some strings and make some funds available when my health is ready.

As you know there are forum members with both vapes that love each for different reasons. I can see myself potentially still interested in their new micro dose glass bowl setup, but one of my biggest draws to the FP is the LACK of breakables!

Dude, you can't believe how shocked I am with this!!! However, the sv3 is still up there don't get me wrong, different vapes for different purposes.

I have a dhgate nail and my coil is controller is set for 640F but it will climb as high as 660F and settle back down. I believe it's due to the controller heating up the big block of Ti from the FP setup so it's just overshooting until the coil itself is at the temperature to maintain to keep it running near 640F. Either way, I turned my controller off last night to switch out my SiC halo for my sapphire and it was still quite warm even after 30 mins OFF.

@biohacker bro, this device was a real treat when I got mine. It was like instant satisfaction. Glad yours is treating you well, I didn't really expect anything else. Assemble, turn on, wait for heatup, fill bowl, and go, and the convenience continues, as long as that nail is hot yer vaping in T-minus 3 seconds, because it just takes a couple seconds to get the heat rolling =)

@psychonaut thanks for the feedback! I just hit some AAA+ Alaskan Thunderfuck about 5 mins ago, and can still taste it!

Been testing through a few bowls after I cleaned the bowl in ISO (hope it's hempwick safe lol). Super easy to clean which is always a treat.

So inspired by @muunch I went with 550f, with the SC with the bowl filled with about .15-.2

I HATE my grinder for this vape, it's WAY too coarse! Awesome flavour, but lacking in the cloud department and probably even intensity. So, take these thoughts with a grain of [coarse] salt ;)

At 550f and capping, I couldn't really see anything in the can of my glass piece, but definitely exhaled some light clouds. Flavour country! Bowl would last a while with these smallish hits, and ramping up temp was effective but still wispy. I just don't really see myself using the controller under 600, it's like ultra low temp vaping to me even with the cap, but i'm sure EVERYTHING will change once medium and fine grind enter my life again. I think i'm actually gonna bust out the kief and do some more testing. Just seems like under 600, feels and looks like 160-170 real world IMO.

Next up 625.... better, super tasty.... then 650 which seems like a pretty good sweat spot. I tried 675 with a full bowl and carb cap, and had more worst experience yet, surely due to operator error. Since it had the SC on it, at 675 and a fuller bowl I was expecting thick vape fast. But it didn't milk too thick, but lasted a long time and I spun the SC, but then paused without spinning. Pretty long hit.... lift SC and the bowl is super uneven darker brown in different areas, green in others. I'm not really sure I like the SC for herb...it does cut the airflow decently, and just seems like a bit of a hassle. More testing.... probably best for lower temps or tiny micros. I'm learning!

I just can't get the milk out of this like my sv3, and the convection effects sure are different! Seems cleaner, more cerebral....more "high" and less "stoned". Seems like this is a better day vape than night for me. I dunno....just more random thoughts...

Back to testing!

Yeah, any flower only bowls over 600f/630f I find doesnt need capping so much and can make things a bit too hot. Slow draw at high temps gets things nice and evenly browned, plus less is more for me at high temps.

Yeah mang, just tested 690 with the slow pull....wow! Got the milk i've been pining for but a bit over roasted bowl, just part of the learning process. Brought 'er down to 675 and hit .1g with a very sloooow pull and BANG the perfect bowl! Think 650-675 is my range thus far, but I look forward to experimenting with upper temps with micros of finer grind.

Do I need to "season" the head before dabbing or something?

My lungs are so fucking happy with me today. That amount of testing last night would normally leave me suffering a little the next day.

I havent had vapour induced asthma spasms once today, and I know they're there, waiting. I'm not coughing up a load of phlegm.

Full bowl, 470f, capped all the way through, very fast draw, reasonable clouds that are satisfying me for now, superb effects and taste, fully spent load. ZERO lung irritation (my lungs at any where near 600f today would be rebelling like a princess on the Tantive IV).

I'll do a video at some point to show what results I'm getting. For now, I'm done testing :)

Dude! How is that even possible? How fine is your grind? I just can't see how you can fully spend a load at 470 capped? Then again when I was at 550 the load wasn't green anymore so.... but 470? :hmm: This the NV controller?

Auber RDK200 atm, should be getting a Vapecode replacement controller tomorrow.

It has crossed my mind that the Auber is giving completely the wrong reading :) But the probe I shoved under the bowl was reading around 430f+ when the controller was set to 530f. That was with the fastest, most sustained draw I could manage, capped.

So the airflow is at the right temp, same temp as a Volcano on 9.

470f, capped, I'm guessing must be somewhere near 6 on the volcano, which was my tipping point for coughing my guts up on bad lung days.

Oh, and Im using the NewVape fine grinder.

That's why I was asking him how many hits it took so I could assume the amount of time needed to finish the bowl. The material will still decarb completely in due time, and that was my curiosity.

OK, so I was way off with my guess. 470f is reading at around 310f under the load, at a high draw speed (errors in readings are probable with the probe I guess, no idea how accurate this is. The reading is also VERY dependent on draw speed, it drops and raises rapidly on the meter). So thats a Volcano equivalent to setting 3. Pretty much lines up with how my lungs are reacting.

I guess thats the beauty of the showerhead for all of us, the sheer versatility. Theres no way I could kill a full bowl in so few hits on a shitty lung day at 655 uncarbed, I wouldnt be able to breathe, but I've just killed one full bowl in eight fairly fast draws at 530, carbed (even that was too harsh tonight, but I rushed through it just to count how many tokes I got, which didnt help). Normally, I'd have to give up or endlessly use an inhaler, which is just very silly :) The massive amount of airflow from the SH means the SC isnt so restrictive to make that an issue for me as much as the higher temps and no carb. Also means forgetful heat soaking doesnt kill the flavour.

Yes, oh so much versatility! For example, it sounds like you are doing longer sessions, so your lower temps make sense for that. I only pack enough for a little snap, one and done's. And sometimes I do a few of those. That's the beauty of this vape, SIP or RIP!

For me, the carb cap makes it more like hitting my Vapcap or Arizer, where without it, it's the lighest draw vaporizer I've ever used. Volcano was an easy draw but a lot harsher than this IMO.

Yeah, I sold the Volcano cos of having to temp step and how much it make me cough. I couldnt cope with it at all.

The SH tho I can start at crazy low temps, then finish it off completely, just with draw speed, all at 520f/540f maxmimum from start to finish, no matter if its a good or bad lung day! This is fucking amazing for me. Its gonna be fascinating to see if the Vapecode controller reacts the same tomorrow.

I'm having fun :)

Then, when my lungs get back to 'normal', I can rejoin you all in the 600's without the carb cap like nothing ever happened :D

BEST. VAPE. EVER.

That's why I was asking him how many hits it took so I could assume the amount of time needed to finish the bowl. The material will still decarb completely in due time, and that was my curiosity.

I answered that at some point last night, but I dont think I tagged you in the message.

Guess I'll have to do the test all over again :D EDIT: Nope, its in the message quoted by invertedisdead above! :)

EDIT 2: Controller at 520, roughly 350 - 370 air flow under the load, capped at high draw speed, according to this here meter.

EDIT 3: Full bowl (approx. 0.3g), not tamped. 540f. Capped all the way. Fast inhale. Bowl killed in roughly 8 hits. Big clouds at hit 3. Hit 7 and 8 a bit shit. Uncapped dish temp is 440f/450f btw.

EDIT 4: I'm clearly obsessed. Please forgive me. I've just realised I've been taking readings from under the bowl while I've got a full load so I can see how many hits and vapour production etc, when really, I want temps readings closer to the air temp thats hitting the flower. Empty bowl readings next. I'll remove the screen and sit the probe where the flower would be.

Actually, scratch that. Empty bowl temps are pretty much the same. 540f controller is about 380f+ air temp, fast inhale. Slower inhale is giving lower temps down here with the shitmunchers temps.

The sh is so fing amazaballs good I am always blown away with how well it works!! I just put the sh back on this morning had the controller set to 685, took a massive hit, and clouded out the living by room upon exhale!! The showerhead is definitely worth adding to arsenal even if you have one of the other flowerpot heads!

All this talk of PID overshooting temp has me scratching my head. I have a Menovo enail from DHGATE and it never overshoots temp and seems to really hold temp well even without the coil cover but with it, it never drops. It does seem to take a couple minutes to get up to temp. I think it might come to temp a little slower than other controllers so it doesn’t overshoot. It uses the high5 wiring on the pin out and the cord on the coil that comes with it is a little short but it’s been a great controller so far.

@Alexis I know we dont have the same lung issues, but hopefully this is a good sign of how the FP might work out for you. I still dont think I've bottomed out this temp yet, keep expecting each setting to be the last and for vapour to just stop. Hasnt happened yet :)

I think I might be starting a very exclusive full bowl low temp showercap sub cult here folks :)
Thanks for the consideration and for sharing all these fine details with us. This sure sounds like one dialable (another funky word!) vape.
So your full, untamped bowls are roughly 0.3 grams? Fairly moderate, so it is more impressive you are finding satisfaction with those temps.. I have heard it said the bowls can hold up to 0.5, maybe tamped though.
Sorry I can't recall which bowl version you have, but I know the newest rev has a smaller capacity.

If only equipment was more reliable eh? Like my damn digital hygrometers that are sheer pot luck. Nearly messed up my weed curing totally while I figured out which one to trust.
It did a bit, but not too disastrous.

Just one point to make in this post actually, some important (I think) general awareness for everybody who uses FC.

I was skimming through a few posts again from yesterday when I noticed by chance you mention me in the quote above.

Note- I didn't get an alert and only saw it by fluke. This is because when you edit a post and mention/tag another member, they will not get an alert.

At least a dozen times now, I have discovered purely by chance posts where I have been mentioned but didn't receive an alert, because it was after the post was edited.

I have been convinced that this must be happening all over the place on this forum, without people realising this when they edit the post. It just seems like a shame for me that some important infos could get lost.

So I just want to start mentioning this around a little bit to spread awareness. I think it would be really good if something could be done with the forum, either to amend this wormhole feature, or to ensure that more, or all members are made aware of this.

Now, back to Flowerpot- looking forward to more test results rolling in.

Testing has concluded.
