I apologize that's a good question , I hope so but most likely not as it prob has holes for the air path. I doubt they put a screen on there as it would prob tarnish taste from the ceramic type airpath .

Man, could you imagine a bowl for conduction and a bowl for convection working together in perfect harmony in this vape? I'm going to pull the trigger if I'm convinced that flavor chamber is more than a gimmick and that it adds a seriously good amount of flavor over all.

Vape critic didn't appear to talk about it or explore it in that way. He said the ceramic pathway does enhance flavor but I'd really like to know more about that if possible

I haven't used the flavor chamber for anything other than doing the cooling of the vapor thing. It seems to do that well.

I don't think I will ever use it to resonate buds. But with less flavorful buds, it might be fun to put some aromatic herbs in there?. I am thinking Orange blossoms. Definitely not eucalyptus.

i would put grind up herb in there, just for it to act as a filter and collect some of the oil that condenses.

What I was told by a reviewer is that ground herb would be sucked through the air holes and said you could only do 'whole flower' I suppose he may have meant hand torn pieces that can't be sucked through.

@radiant34 I once tried the PAX lavender mix and found it not a pleasent experience.orange blossom you enjoy? Any others and how would you describe the flavor?

i think you can put a net in to cover the bud inside.

You mean like a custom cut screen? I'm not sure what a net looks like. Please describe. I edited a question for you in my prior post, if you don't mind.

screen yes, i don't have the unit so i'm just talking based on speculation. but i mean if the vapor travels through the flavor chamber and if there's herb in there, theoretically that herb can absorb vapor that travels through the vapor path.

So I know you need the app to set custom smart paths, but does the phone need to be connected to use them? For example, can I set a custom path once and then not have to use my phone to connect to it?

I had restless dreams last night about using an Arizer EQ elbow joint filter as a spacer. Just tried it. Doesn't fit. But I think that may be the way forward.

I love my IQ. But I cannot use it daily. It just requires to much herb for my low tolerance needs.

For early morning high CBD medical uses, I need a smaller herb space. I am certain Davinci will come up with a good spacer solution.

I'm with you, mate. I'm old and remember metal "chamber pipes" (can't believe it but they still make those suckers). Put herb in the in-line chamber and pick up resin from the bowl. Stuff from the chamber was, IMO, always lousy tasting, stinking, sticky crap. But maybe that's just me.

Someone maybe can try the liquid pad for dosing capsule for S&B vape as spacer: approx. Ø 13 x 6 mm

sounds like everyone is joyful, having a great time with their IQ's.

Alot of pros, Any cons? besides oven size and the need for a spacer accessory.

So I ended up ordering one of these after watching this thread for a month now, and I can't wait to get my hands on it. I just had a couple specific questions.

1) What batteries specifically are you guys buying as replacements for the IQ? This is my first experience with a vape that uses 18650 batteries, and I'm not sure which to go with as backups. A lot of people seem to love the LG HG2, but it comes in at 3000mAh instead of the 3500mAh that the IQ is rated for. I don't find many well known brands offering 3500mAh 18650's specifically. Can anyone lend some info or share a link on what to look for in a quality replacement battery? I'm a total n00b when it comes to battery knowledge.

2) @Reggie Watts , in your breakdown(which probably pushed me into ordering the IQ) of your first night with the IQ, you mentioned using first Smart Path 2 and then using Smart Path 3. I was curious if you used the same material for both sessions, or did you re-pack in between?

Thanks for listening, happy vaping!

I re-loaded the oven with fresh herbs in between sessions. I also lightly stirred in the middle of each session. However, in subsequent sessions I used a finer grind (MFLB finishing grinder), and that stuff vaped evenly with no stirring.

I also tried loading the flavor chamber with little buds. It added some flavor, but I was already getting great flavor without it. Idk if I'd use it on a regular basis.

Apparently they're going to sell batteries on the Davinci website, so I'm holding out for those.

No to your first question, and yes to the second question. You have full control with the device itself. It cycles between four preset smart paths. When you create custom paths, I assume those will overwrite the presets. (There's also an option to restore default settings, which can also be done without the app.)

Check LG MH1 (3200mAh @ 10A), LG MJ1 (3500mAh @ 10A), Panasonic NCR18650GA (3300mAh @ 10A), Samsung 35E (3500mAh @ 13A) as well as Samsung 30Q (3000mAh @ 15A but in reality about 20A), the latter being cheaper than LG HG2 and a lovely pink color instead of the chocolate brown. Anything else (apart from these major brands plus Sony) is at your own risk and not recommended.

I don't know how close to 10A the IQ is in practice but it's usually not recommended to use continuously a cell at its maximum continuous discharge rate. The reason being that when aging and even more when stressed, the cell IR will rise, thus lowering the C rating. A new 10A continuous cell might become only 8A after a while, in which case if you draw 10A it will sag and heat, and this in turn damages it and raises the IR... it's a vicious circle past that point.

So my recommendation: go with the Samsung 30Q. Currently $5.74 on fasttech: https://www.fasttech.com/products/1420/10002357/3935802 (and cheaper in 2-packs https://www.fasttech.com/products/1420/10002357/2363400, and there's also a 4-pack, just use the dropdown menu)

Just to clarify, why do you recommend the 30Q over the 35E? Just the added amperage?

@Reggie Watts your review sealed the deal for me. im over the ff2. thanks for your help.

anyone have any idea how fast they are fulfilling orders? literally ordered mine two minutes ago hoping it gets sent out in the next couple days.
Don't get your hopes up. I pre-ordered on Oct. 29 (copper) and mine hasn't shipped. They're definitely shipping out earlier ones, still catching up to demand. I would expect 5-7 business days, as that's what I was told for mine

I need high discharge rate cells for several of my vapes (20A minimum) so the 35E is not an option for me. If you plan to use the cells solely for your IQ, then by all means try the 35E, you'll get more capacity. The 30Q is just more versatile and having a higher discharge rate the IQ would put less stress on it, this should in theory be better for the service life. Now in practice... those cells are cheap enough not to worry too much!

I also never tested the 35E myself so I can not comment on its performance, but there are surely some characteristic curves already available on the major battery testing websites.

hi, thanx a lot for the super fast response, but, unfortunately this is not working, i tried it now again and it is not working, i tried with iq vaporizer, davinci vapoizer, davinci iq, da vinci...etc and also Da Vinci...i looked through all the vaporizer or davinci/da vinci or iq apps..but nothing..:-) maybe it is not online on the "eu-app store", if that is possible...anyway, thanx again for the answer!!!

Hey there! The Davinci Vaporizer app was only available in the US app store until today. You should see the Davinci Vaporizer app available for download in the international app stores for iOS in the next 24hrs.

An announcement date for Android users will be coming soon.

I've read the thread. Thanks. My specific question that i haven't seen answered is if you can put *ground* herb in the flavor chamber. Vape Guide said whole flower. I'd like an official answer.

@mephisto ground herb in both the bowl and flavor chamber is acceptable or only 'whole' pieces in the flavor chamber? Thank you.

Whole pieces or flower are optimal. Ground material can fall out of the bottom of the flavor chamber where your vapor comes in. It can also flow up and clog your mouthpiece.

So I know you need the app to set custom smart paths, but does the phone need to be connected to use them? For example, can I set a custom path once and then not have to use my phone to connect to it?

Yes you do need the app to set "custom' Smart Paths™ and the default paths will be available from the device no app needed. Once you download the app and begin to edit your path's to your own custom settings these new paths will be saved onto your devices memory to be used at any time. So for example, if I customize Smart Path™ 3 to my own personal session 350°-390° over the course of 10mins the app will save that new path to your device replacing the factory default settings.

thank you @Davinci_vaporizer, the app is now online on the 'eu apple store', unfortunately i cannot log in with the username and password i use on the davinci website, do we have to make a new account and password on the app?
thanx!

Thanks for the info. I wanted to get a charger as well, and that made the shipping quite expensive from Fasttech. I ended up ordering from IMR Batteries and now have 1 LG MJ1, 1 Samsung 35E, and an Xtar SV2 on the way. I figured I'd try one of each since they don't offer 2 packs, and I can also do some testing and see what works best with the IQ.

I ordered a Copper IQ on 11/5, order #58106. Today my status changed from "Awaiting Fulfillment" to "Awaiting Shipment." Can't wait for it to ship!
