Hm, the update is nice, but there is furthermore the problem, that the FF2 shows solid green from the beginning.
I had hoped, that the update fix this. In my opinion it is a failure. If i took a draw 5 minuts ago, I don't think the FF2 is immediately on my temperature. But solid green means the FF2 is on the chosen temperature.

EDIT:
High + 111 % makes the FF2 to a very good device.
I would like the battery indicator in %
It would also be nice, if I could set the shutdown time by myself

Weird. Seems to have been fixed on all the new versions of the app I've used. Maybe I've been lucky.

However....five minutes isn't enough elapsed time. The FF is actually very close to vapable temps even after five minutes. You should get a solid green after at least five to ten minutes of idleness, especially if you've taken more than two hits prior. This is not the same thing as the "standby" solid green bug...that can occur hours or days later. Bottom line: five minutes isn't long enough to test the bug fix, and you can hit the FF with confidence after five minutes. It's still plenty hot enough to generate vapor, or should be (or will be) within a second or two of the solid green.

Agreed. At this point I reflexively do a 'dummy trigger' to get the possible bug out of the way and then trigger the FF for real, and it seems to be a real champ about retaining heat where it matters. I can go 15-20 minutes before it needs to give me a blinking green again, especially if i've been using concentrates.

I thought permanent green means the temperature is reached. Normally this takes the green LED flashing actually always at the beginning.

So if you have the setting on medium high 400 degrees and raise it 10% you're vaping at 440 degrees? And on high 460 degrees? When does combustion occur?

poster earlier said he's loving high plus 10% which seems like combustion level no?

Lastly if you're on low plus 11% aren't you on medium instead? 340 plus 37 is 377 medium 380....

Just updated mine. Battery shows full, although it has been in the fly for several nights and I used it for several bowls already. Not sure how many, but would have thought it would show partially discharged.

Turned up to high, 111% and first hit-----nice cloud from a nearly spent bowl. Seemed very nice. Need a refill, back soon.....

Edit: fresh bowl, first hit------extremely nice. I could not draw until the light went out, which is unusual for me...... Very tasty and good cloud, especially for first hit. Impressive. Took a second hit, and again could not draw until light went out, got a big cloud, but tasted charring this time. Sure enough, when I stirred, it was charred on the bottom of the bowl (not full combustion thankfully). I have never charred a bowl on the FF2 on the second hit (I can do it with the FF1 tho!), and maybe not at all (don't remember doing it). So, there is loads more heat. I love it. Might need to be careful how dense you pack now if you turn it all the way to high and 111%, we'll see.

Frankly, I am surprised there is this much difference. I was skeptical that the app would improve the device this much, but early indications are extremely positive, for me at least. I realize I've only done a few hits, but there is significant difference. Hopeful this makes the FF2 more user friendly for those that have not been getting the performance they had hoped for.

Edit 2: Holy Shit!!!! Hit number 3------OFF THE CHART!!! After the second hit, I stirred and this time lightly tamped instead of dense, and again couldn't draw until light off----- no charring and an ENORMOUS HIROSHIMA-LIKE cloud!!!

I swear I feel like I got a new device. And I wasn't really unhappy before. But, I was never super impressed with the vape either. Underwhelmed would be a good word. Possibly because of anticipation and hype etc. Regardless, I hope this isn't some strange anomaly I am seeing here. Using the same flower etc, so nothing else really changed but the app, so I don't see how it could be anything else....

...new firmware update....now!...no anomaly man...this update is unbelievable...on concentrates...I have to re-adjust my draw.....it's that powerful.

After 8 hits on this bowl, the battery level now shows 3/4 full on both device and app. That's a first for me.
Also, the green light is blinking at start up more frequently than before, so that bug seems better too. After abut 15 min of idle, it blinks when powered back up.....so basically, everything now appears to be working like it is supposed to. So far, anyway. This update is excellent. Maybe their programmers should go to work for Apple and show them how to do an update!

Testing notes on 111% power:

First hit (medium): Bigger cloud than I would normally get on the first draw. Nice.
Second hit (medium): Diminished vapor, as expected
<stir>
Third hit (medium high): Big ass cloud. Nice! This is what I would normally get on "high" mode.
Fourth hit (medium high): Diminished vapor, as expected
<stir>
Fifth hit (high): Another bigass cloud. I thought maybe I had already mostly extracted from this load, due to the boosted medium high being hotter than it was before. Next time I'll start with "high" at 111% and see what happens.
Sixth hit (high): Diminished vapor, as expected

I had to turn on location data on my Android phone to connect, which previously wasn't the case for me. However, I turned off location in mid-session and it stayed connected. It seems you only need location for establishing the initial connection.

Also there's some weird message in my phone notifications that says "Disconnecting from FF2_[numbers]" even though it's still connected, and it doesn't go away even if I press "abort" and close the app. I might have to restart the phone to make it go away. Hopefully that doesn't happen every time. (Edit: The "force stop" command killed it)

I got like 11-12 hits from this bowl, no lie. Big hits. Half of them 30 second draws. AVB was near black, last few hits not very tasty but still effective and every one was cloudy. I rarely take my herb to this level of extraction. But I could not do this before the update, not even close. WOW.

No weird issues with app, using Iphone.

Edit: I did stir after nearly every hit.

...I only have mine on 1% increase...and I'm ripped!...of course I'm still doing concentrates...will experiment with flower later...when I come down...if I come down...lol

I turned mine all the way up to 111%, on high. If your flower is dry, you'd better be careful. I predict some combustion events being reported. I like the heat, so OK with me (not that I want to combust!).

I just loaded a bowl of some lower grade drier herb, and it charred a little on first hit. But I got good, near excellent vapor from bud that was not giving good results in my other vapes. This really surprised me. This just can't be the same vaporizer.

I'll have to experiment on a bit lower temp, maybe 105% or 108% will be perfect? Although I am so stoked right now I don't want to change it, I love it now!!!

Just came here to report similar results. I updated, put it on high +111% because why the heck not, and got an amazingly strong and tasty first hit. I also got some scattered charring, like little black pepper flakes amongst the still fairly green rest of the herb. I stirred and went in for a second hit, and it got charry pretty quick. Another stir and another hit and I was definitely on the verge on an oldschool FF1 pyrolysis event.

It's great to have that headroom available now but I definitely see myself living somewhere below FULL SPEED AHEAD. Looking forward to comparing things like Med High+ vs High-, that sort of thing..

Haven't used it enough to know about the battery status reporting, but I'm definitely hoping they got that fixed. Cautiously optimistic.

Oh yeah, my battery and app matched perfectly until it died. It did go to half on both, but died shortly after. Not completely accurate, but battery wasn't full when I started with the new app. Maybe it will calibrate itself with a fresh battery. Worked better than before, that's for sure. We'll see how the next battery goes.

Does the +11% equal +11 degrees? I would love to get 390, half way between med and med high, so either Med +10% - or- Med high -10%, is this correct? (Also, note the difference in relative range; 390 on my Crafty would be way too hot)

I don't think it's about the exact temperature. But this update is amazing!!! :science:

I've only had the update for a short time but the increase in performance is exactly what the FF2 needed.

I threw caution to the wind and turned on the concentrate setting to 111% Here are what I've noticed so far:

  • Vastly increased speed of vapor production. It basically takes me half as many draws to finish a dab of concentrate.
  • The increased heat makes the first few draws more potent and the vapor production ramps up quicker after that
  • Much better through water. I can visually see a large increase in vapor going through the hydrotube and it is much easier to find the right draw.
  • Unlike before the heating element now stays glowing for quite a bit longer throughout my draws than it did before.
  • Battery meter seems to be working and the device buttons seem to be more reliable

All in all really great stuff. The flavor is still as good as it was and generally just much better faster better vapor production

Still I think I've gotta go test that update some more ;)

Yes, that's something I noticed too, the heating element is visibly glowing orange much longer than it did before. Very noticeable. There is a lot more heat. I just turned down to 107%, and it lessened the charring a bit on a fresh bowl, but still see some. Clouds a little less enormous at this setting too. I'll keep pushing through this testing though.......best update to anything ever!

Edit: Did 2 hits at 107%, less charring but noticeably smaller hits (placebo effect?).....but then turned up to 110% and got a lung buster. I like it like that.
