If you're curious about why I haven't posted more about my experiences with Pauahi, here's my explanation.

Pauahi is performing magnificently and is an improvement over Jessica—a unit that I thought was fantastic. Comparing them is almost pointless, however, because both of them are unique. Pauahi is probably close to what will be the production heater, but not close enough that I feel comfortable with discussing the details. I've already said I'm really happy with Pauahi so that leaves little for me to say. You can ask me questions and I'll answer them if I can, but be aware that I haven't come close to exploring Pauahi's full capabilities. For example, virtually all of my testing so far has been at 25% power. (Jessica didn't do well at that setting, but I know that later betas did, hence my previous comment about comparisons.) If you have a test you'd like done, I'll try to do it but again, the outcome will be in the context that Pauahi does not have the production heater.

New modified technique for my Zion beta when using sifted but otherwise unprocessed dry ice hash. I place the screen into the stem basket style. Then I prepare a nearly weightless little fluffball of degummed hemp fiber that I received as a gift from another FC member. This creates an organic screen above the metal screen, increasing air flow though the metal screen by eliminating the tendency of this hash (really a very fine quality kief) to gum up the metal screen. The result is chocolate brown powdery remains that look much like cinnamon powder that I can blow right out of the stem with a puff of air.

@pakalolo if you have the stuff any chance you could give this a go? With the WP 010 and kief. Thanks

I'm not sure how well I can mee that request. I only have the WP-010 to work with. My fear with loading a big bowl is that I'll ignite it and that would be a terrible shame. I won't promise anything.

I've got some kief but I don't have any hemp fiber. I can experiment with cotton I suppose.

The Zion is Sold Out and no more orders will be taken until we have stock to ship which is not anticipated until early 2016.

I know RBT said he wasn't going to be answering questions so maybe @pakalolo can help.. Am I to understand that some production units will be out early 2016?

I spent yesterday wrecked because I was trying to make a video of a full power hit. Even though I went through enough material to last me 3-4 days, I failed miserably because my lungs just aren't up to it, not even with a piece as small as the WP-010. The results are just too embarrassing to show, and would be misleading as far as the capabilities of the Zion are concerned.

I might have more success with the kief demo. I'll try to get something on video later today.

Well make it two straight. I have consumed the equivalent (for me) of a week's worth of material in the past two days and don't have a single clip that I'd show anyone. When you're trying to demonstrate maximum performance, you only get so many attempts, where so many is about four or five in my case.

Today I was trying to get a good clip using kief. For each attempt I was loading about .015 g on a cotton substrate and I am here to tell you that it really really works. You'll just have to take my word for it though because I'm not posting the video. I know the wp_010 isn't big compared to a lot of glass, but its volume is too much for me. I just can't move enough air fast enough to get the kind of example you guys are looking for. There's no point in putting up something that looks just like the last thing I posted, or not even as good.

The Zion at 87% power thoroughly extracted everything from the kief, incidentally.

In fact if any of the Z team could give us all some comparisons between their pre-Zion DD's. Portable or desktop. Especially those who may have used convection units. I know they are beta Zions and will differ from the refined and honed production units but still nice to get some opinions.
Hopefully we will see a @RastaBuddhaTao update in the near future. I know the days will be flying by for him but the same amount of time for those eagerly awaiting can seem like an age. Even if its short and sweet it all helps.

I was using the FlashVAPE, which is a superb device if you have the proper experience. It heats up faster than the Zion (~3 secs) but it can easily overshoot to combustion. The Zion, of course, will only reach combustion if you force it. They are about equal in flavour and vapour production. The biggest difference is ease of use. I'd recommend the Zion to a novice, but I'd never recommend the FV to someone who didn't have a lot of experience.

My Lotus through the WPA was my daily driver on a rotation of various glass pieces. I joke about the fact that an order of 2 300ml cans of butane arrived the same day my Zion arrived, and I have never opened the box.

Before the Lotus was the HA. They are Both great vapes with their own strengths and weaknesses, and I have hit both of them a few times since getting the Zion, but just a few. I have a VapCap on order and I expect to use that out of the house, but I don't see anything supplanting Venus at home other than the production Zion I hope to see relatively soon. If it really is better than Venus, and I suspect it will be, I'm confident it will rein supreme for some time...

Your underdog can't keep up with the zion? I don't know if I feel bad for you, or stoked that a device is coming more powerful than my underdog!

If the zion is able to outpower my underdog, and remain a TRUE convection experience, then it'll make it the most powerful convection vape that I know of. HYPE.

Haha well Underdog experience is more than just keeping up, but Zion definitely can do more back to back hits that are equally huge off any amount. Every UD could be different and a matter of taste though, Zion is certainly more versatile at the very least.

Haven't tried Crafty or Mighty, but Evo is certainly pure convection, don't need to leave the basket in for a good hit at any temp at all. I definitely like it more than the Volcano at least, and its just less fiddly than a log (or an LSV, a big comparison point for Zion too imo) despite its size in my experience

I feel the lsv and the Zion are a pretty damn good comparison. The power is pretty comparable.The Zion is definalty easier to control. IME. They load and hit (as far as drag restrictions) pretty much the same.
I don't even waist my time with my portables. There is no comparison between my Zion and my ff or ascent. My vapman before I broke it was the only thing that could compare as far as power in the portable scene.

That was awesome! I'm glad you finally got something on video. The pain in your voice is almost palpable 'thats a lot more kief than usual' seemed to have a slight sob in it, but that may just be my hearing...

I think milking a bong with Vapor has a lot to do with a nice steady draw, however one can certainly see from the exhale that there is lotttttts of vapour to be had!
