Discontinued Zion vaporizer

Guess what I just did. I just reached for the Zion again. I'm done beta testing it. It's an old build and the only reason I use it is because I want to. When a less than $200 vape consistently draws me away from the stable of big bucks vapes I have plugged in and ready to turn on...
Your endorsement and the fact that you reach for the Zion over your MV, which I love and is my go to at home vape, and a vape I know you appreciate.....well, short and simple, order placed with optional long stem.

Right on...I think you'll love it! It passes the grab test all the time! The nearly instant heat up and the ability to just walk around the house all day with it and hit it as necessary without worrying about it cooking in between hits is a real luxury. The MV is my other around the house vape and the main differences are the MV tastes a little better to me, while the Zion heats up way faster and isn't on between hits (neither cooks the load between hits, though).

And I love the sound of hitting the Zion. Makes me think of a muscle car with its strong whoosh sound when I hit it hard.

This.

I came to the project as a long time combuster who had tried vapes in the past but they just never quite cut it.
Same here. Can't wait to get my Zion, as I'm currently bustin. That's all day every day.

I've used a number of vapes that were ok, but left me wanting; I don't have time for a 20min vape session, and while flavor is great I want to maximize extraction. I loved the idea of the Zion but the price point and size of hopper were so alluring. I couldn't decide and finally said "why not Zoidberg?" I ordered both. Seems like Zion was a good horse to bet on. And of course, with all the failure reports, I might cancel the bug and save that cash for a future RBT toy.

That's exactly what I'm about to do... Still hesitating - but I guess when the Zion arrives that's the next thing I'm gonna do - after a nice session :D

Yeah. I'm not here to hate, I want all the vape companies that tried crowd funding to be successful, lol! Still, having this level of transparency has been very much appreciated and is interesting conceptually, since most companies try as little transparency as possible (opaque, lol?).

Just checking, but by MV are you referring to the device that sells for between (discounted price) $400 and $520 depending on config? Is that even a fair comparison? And Zion wins on most metrics anyway? I would call that quite impressive...

Just signed up to say that I just bought a Zion. I've used the MFLB for the past ~4 years and was looking for an upgrade, and the Zion hits pretty much all points on my wish list with the exception of stealth. If this thing lives up to even half of what I've read, than I'll be a very satisfied customer.

Maybe I missed it at some point in the thread, but has anyone tried to use a vapexnail with the zion? I don't know if it would work well but I figure its worth a try. I'm thinking all you need is a 18/18M2M that fits the vxn. Thoughts?

Thanks!

How far down is the screen? I assume the size of the adapter would be the key factor.
All of the M2m Adaptors that I have hit the screen before they snug up against the taper. I have some from DHGate and a custom JoDa Glassworks one, all fit (or don't) the same. The joints for adaptors need to be the "US Standard".

There is a 4mm difference in the depth of the US vs ISO standard 19mm joint. US = 19/22 and ISO = 19/26. It normally doesn't matter much and they work fine with each other. But on the Zion the heater screen ends the taper at the US length of 22mm. A longer one may well work but it won't really seal and kinda pushes against the screen.
You CAN cut 4mm off an ISO joint (if you have that capability) but the inside diameter will remain the narrower bore of the 26mm opening so the ELBs and some other screens might not fit. So, better to use the US standard joint if you can.
