Well only 3 so far of this version, no video from me but I've got some pics and first impressions here. Will get more when I return form the beach next week probably, but I'll probably post some stuff there too...
Anyway basic feel of the Zion is like and mflb meets Solo, the rough cut maple block of wood is very handbuilt feeling and bad a situation vibe, definitely sticks to the keep it simple principle we established omearly on here. The models after the first 10 should be more polished than mine, which has some uneven spots, and other stuff will be different.
Anyway first in following Pak's instructions earlier for first use, taste was neutral save for the nice fresh sweet maple scent of the wood.
Orienting the dial, in your left hand with the batteries facing away from your palm, thumb ready on the trigger, 0% is 12 o clock on the dial (mine actually can start at like 11 though), 50% is 3 o'clock and 100% is 6 o clock (then up til like 730 is max max, overdrive).
Ran some burn offs on overdrive and 100% with some outgassing, but netural smells still and it went away afer 3 or 4 rounds. Could've been a variety of innocuous causes, and then all good anyhow. Tastes fine, hot air, and fresh wood of anything like a Triihouse vape or log.
So two stems, and two potential screen orientations, and bowl size adjustable either way:
Long stem on the right, with zion screen inserted like a Enano adjustabowl, upside down basket screen. Bc of the convex dome with vapes on sides, I used a hand broken course crumble of og bubba kush, full pack, got wispy hits 50-70% but great flavor and heady effects. Rode it in increments stirring thrice, clouds higher up, but would need to break up get the most out of it. Set aside for bubbler use later (will be done with 18mm male to male adapter and lsv wand screen, its a wobbly fit in Zion unlike the stems, but fine for hpside down bowl style useage).
Next bowl (swap battery positions first to maintain pair balance) I used the left one, short stem with bowl inserted like and Underdog basket screen, but closer to the joint EQ basket style (but inside the stem a little instead of overhang). Used a fluffy sc shredder full pack (so smaller bowl than before) of shrek/blue something and flavorful thin vapor at 50% after holding button for 5 seconds. Felt like a 360F kind of hit if I had to guess, going down the dial by 10% increments with two hits at each spot, clouds get bigger and bigger as effects expand, stirred once maybe twice. I'd say it was like 360-370-380-390-400-410F ish, so above 50% less visible sub 360 tasty low temps I imagine (oh I'll find out for sure eventually!). Also these are ranges really, bc if you hold down more than 5 sec then may be warmer, or more back to back hits, or longer deeper inhale. Hell you may just have more powerful lungs than I, as most do (I know my buddy will cloud this up like be does my FF), and that could heat things up more bc this pure convection relies on your breath power.
I'm also still learning my draw with this wide open airpath, shorter stem definitely helps with that too, as does the grinded pack for airflow. Also, speaking of airflow, and varying temps, there is actually an air intake at the bottom of the Zion:
And it actually can kind of work like a carb hole ala Daisy/Lily, used it to help me do less preheating for my second hits at 80 and 90%, so helped me get more like 395 and 405 kinda deal. It fluctuates basically bc these aren't exact temp settings, merely a voltage dial ala Underdog's vvps.
Anyway, much more testing to do, but as of now getting way gone in testing, rumors are true, it hits like portable desktop with trigger. It is the mflb lsv, the firefly solo. Block of wood vape with the glass straw, strong smooth tasty hits and versatile. Trying through water soon....
Oh and here some more photos in the mean time, apparently I got the perfect Zion case in New Orleans last year, little turquoise leather shoulder purse. I don't know what to tell people it is if anyone asks about it stealth wise though lol so may be weird to walk down the beach with it during the day at least
And here is Zion with some of its on demand pure convection (and wooden) bretheren:
