Well provided the new heater screen design less adhesive makes it through thermal cycling the hard nut has been cracked. My gentleman's agreement with the beta team is once the adhesive is eliminated and the upper temperature is tamed to 440 F max we will take orders for 50 of the 100. So one down one to go and I saved the easy one for last. Once I have the beta units complete for Pak and Kero and map the temperature profile I will take orders :)
I can stop a freight train easier than I can stop @thekarmawhore from innovating... So really nothing I can do there lol. Have you seen his recessed fire button yet? Drool

5 cycles of 550F to room temperature complete with no issue. Provided thermal shock testing goes well this afternoon I believe we have a winner!

Back on Topic, Zen and Rasta (and taoist) philosophies need more convergence, converging them in a vaporizer is a great idea.

Great news crew... Glueless screen design has made 5 trips from 550F to zero and back and didn't bat an eyelash. Oh, and it has enabled me to loose the backer screen thereby reducing pressure drop... Two birds, one stone & three little birds outside my window singing in the spring sunshine... What a moment indeed.

Well on to the final task... Heater tuning anyone?

True but I found an epoxy rated to 600 F used by NASA so I now have that in my back pocket lol. But yeh, feels good to be gone with the glue... What was I thinking? It was difficult working with the standard gong joint. Next time we will steal the gong attachment and custom design the heater housing geometry so I am confident moving forward there will only be stainless and glass in the vapor path... Well, maybe wood

Well back to working on Pak and Kero's beta units.

Hmmmm . . . . maybe you needed to use a little bit of glue in testing just to prove to yourself that you don't actually need, or even want to use it in your final design (maybe with the exception of NASA's space glue :brow:). (But really, NO! ;))

It's definitely a learning process & it's really great seeing all of this evolve & you good folks taking onboard what is being posted in this thread.

Well, I'll let you get back to it RBT, @pakalolo & @KeroZen are no doubt waiting very patiently.

Someone put a "bug" in my ear that some concerns had been raised elsewhere regarding RBT's glaring lack of packaging for the Zion. Even though packaging isn't a super high priority for us right now considering the early stage of development the Zion is currently in, be rest assured dear community, that not only have we been considering various packaging options, we've already got the inserts designed and box and label sourced.

However we've made the decision hold off purchasing and stocking said packaging until units are actually shipping.

Like the logo! Send me the specs and I'll get some on order so we can conduct packaging drop test. Can we poke two holes in for the full size extra stem?
