Discontinued Zion vaporizer

Yeh not a cloud guy either... I am more of a subtle sipper myself... the top end power is there on the unit when needed though. If contact resistance creeps up or you are using it when its really cold out its nice to have that added power. I usually only run 1/2 throttle or less.... that all ya got? Thought maybe you would ask me how in the world I have a nearly 4 square inch surface area on our heater... that's gotta be bullshit right? Come on... have you even read through my patent claims on my www? You all bark dog? Why would you want so much surface area... hmmmmm

I guess I thought it would be better to keep it to PM's.

You don't seem to have the most professional posting style, for a manufacturer.

Maybe if I ever get sent a unit, I'd be happy to answer these questions in a way that suits you.

I'd rather just ask how in the world some random dude in a headshop bumped into you and was invited out for a beta testing. That seems more unbelievable than anything about your vape.

PS. Roy Orbison walked into the local record shop and asked me to review his latest album...

Rasta, you might want to think a bit about your response to the post above before you post it for a multitude of reasons. That last one you posted, imho, was a mistake, but hey, do what you will. Just given' ya a bit of heads up.

Fair. My apologies for being non-professional to you and the Mods... Hope I'm not in too much trouble. Wasn't a random head shop. It was a business associates shop and that was a friend of his. Truth be know I asked him to post... and I don't see anything wrong with that. If @stickstones feels its ready for prime time and I take orders for the FC100 I will open a spot for you if ya want to join the team.d

agreed @lwien hind sight is 20/20. Just a passionate, honest, trustworthy guy and I don't like being called a liar without having proof to back it up. I agreed to the rule of not saying anything bad about another manufacture and not posting in other threads about my own product, and i agree that we ALL should have honor and respect at all times. I may not be the only one out of line here, manufacture or not.

Just a pet peeve of mine. I will shut my mouth till Monday :)

Have a nice weekend all!

Peace,
RBT

Stay above the fray,
and wait for the coming day
that Zion rises.

The haiku run was a better vibe, man.

Not biased nor brainless, just forever seeking the better buzz that comes with the clouds and the contraptions. The Dude loves new toys, and the Zion appeals to the little dude within. Time and use will tell, RastaBuddhaTao. The rest is just the journey, man. Having followed the thread since page three, I've enjoyed it so far and fully expect the end result to really tie the room together. For better, and sometimes for worse (I've dabbled in many vapes), it's a good day to be a vapor dude.

What could be wrong with that?

Lovely offer. I love most of all how it's not at all sounding like a bribe. And if sticks feels it's ready for primetime, then I'm willing to wager it's as good as the PnP.

I agreed to the rule of not saying anything bad about another manufacture

Except questioning the legitmacy of the FF.

I am honored to be a manufacture on FC and have read, understand and will follow the rules.

I must follow the rules of a manufacture lol

LOL.

I'm digging the prototype Zion. We've discussed the "instant on" aspect of it but what hasn't been discussed is how instant on also means "instant off".

As we all know, liberation begins just above and ends just below a temperature threshold in the incoming air stream. Because the Zion is so fast to cross above and below the temperature threshold with proper timing of power button and draw, I believe the unit will prove to be quite efficient in terms of material consumption. It's like being able to switch liberation on and off at will, nothing is ever left "cooking away" in the oven during the in-between times.

The temperature range of this prototype unit seems perfect to me, the lowest setting yields a very delicate vapor, and the highest setting will roast that puppy. I like it best pretty much in the center of the range, maybe biased slightly to the hot side, you know, me being a "combustor" and all.

Compared to the only two vape units I have direct experience with (eterra, vapir), the temperature of the exiting air stream of the Zion is much lower. Very comfortable. I haven't been able to get it to feel warmed up in my hand yet, it's effective enough that the sessions have been quite short.

The ABV seems consistent and looks to have nothing left to offer, although I believe the heater configuration on this unit is of the prior design as it leaves darker stripe across the center of the load when running on the hotter side. The latest configuration will improve upon or eliminate this effect.

I haven't felt the least bit inclined to reach for my combustor since trying the Zion.

Sorry in advance for asking first reading latter. But is there some kind of spare Batt. Storage?

Not on-board, no. The design has been size-optimized and is squeezed down to the smallest possible footprint capable of surrounding all the "guts". On-board battery storage would greatly increase the footprint.

I would like a broader range of temps to be honest. From a temp that would not give any visible vapor but enough to evaporate those early terpenes and flavonoids to well above combustion for use with hash and other concentrates.

I would also like to eliminate that effect you talked about, the central roasting, a kind of tunneling effect... It always bugged me with some vapes like the Hot Pod, the Firefly, the first Lotus, the Thermovape T1... It was one of the main reasons I got rid of them actually.

What about button control would that help control temps?
Again I'm late to the party just trying to figure it out and back read same time.

It didn't really tunnel, it was more like a superficial dark streak just on the surface and didn't burn to any depth. Still though, it needed a little tweak.

Your low temp comments have been noted.

Releasing the button while continuing to draw lowers the temperature of the system so rapidly that liberation is quickly terminated. Pressing the button while drawing raises the temperature of the system so rapidly that liberation at the desired temperature setting is quickly achieved.

This maximizes liberation/energy consumption which is good for battery life and minimizes the material losses associated with high temperature lingering in the system which means your stuff lasts longer. Win, win.

Hmmm think I mentioned this prior but seems appropriate here... We could narrow the range of the potentiometer and have fix resistors that but you in different temperature ranges... During the day you could run 200 to 300 and at night you could throw in the 300 - 400 range... Runing concentrates (not currently designed for) you can run the 400 to 500 chip. Kinda "once size fits all". But yes Kero it's really hard to get good precision and turn-down over the complete range.

On a seperate note I changed out the heater in the 2x4 for tonight's outing and I have all but eliminated the dark spot that @thekarmawhore is talking about. @stickstones should be better. It not perfect...

Ok I'm not going to keep my mouth shut till Monday... Lol

So with this design it is hard to have a broader range like a log, right? Don't care so much about concentrates myself, I think the flower is unsurpassable, but it would be nice to have the power in hand if I want to spend a load in a couple of hits.

Dark spots should be eliminated ideally so no stirring is required but I am not so sure this is even visible in a pure convection design... I would love Crafty-like ABV utter evenness but whatever works.
