I thought people were crazy about the whole bud theory but you really do get a wonderful different flavorful hit.You get all that the plant has to offer. I love it both ways.The thing about not grinding is you miss out on that wonderful smell.I love that smell.

For me vaping whole buds has many advantages, I find it much smoother vs grind. I find the flavor is better too, and it lasts longer. In some of my vapes flavor takes a running jump off a cliff with fine grinds. I also get better airflow, and my vapes stay cleaner. Last but not least, I find the high more intense. I don't know why, I thought it may just of been me till @stickstones said simular lol

I agree with everything you said. At this point, I would only grind if I needed a two hit session like a punch to the face. I'm also finding some vapes are better then others at it!

Morning all! Thanksgiving my tom Bourbon Red Turkey was full of it this morning. He seemed mad I did not have to 2x4 with me. I have not ground a bud since I read about whole bud vaping last night. I am happy to report my 2x4 roast a whole bud perfectly. Nice golden color completely through. No stir required.

I've always used whole bud in my HA. I am very excited that it flies in the Zion.

Based on your comments and those of @MrPeanut, it appears that stirring is all but unnecessary. Is that what you would say? @RastaBuddhaTao suggested earlier that you could stir by blowing in a little air. Maybe we don't even need that?

The ABV without stirring is 90 consistent but the drag forces on the load chamber walls still is slightly under vaporized. I usually run a blade around the edges and it folds the edges into the middle like plowing a field. Then I reset the load with my thumb.

The "back blowing" is more of a trick to fluff the load as with fine ground material it compacts against the screen die the the vacuum created during the draw. With not grinding this isn't as necessary.

We are working on a new mouthpiece design that will improve vaporization consistency and allow for preloaded pods. It will use a formed basket that would allow for 360 degree contact of the load with the heated air stream.

Hey @thekarmawhore... You get your charger today? Guessing folks here would like to hear how the first Zion in the world performs? The ABV might not be as consistent as @stickstones as I made a little tweak to his heater... This thing gets a little more refined with every build :)

Your mouth peice/bullet idea is a great idea and just another example why I think the Zion is going to be a huge success.You asked for input and then you guys incorporate it.

We are just having a blast, creating cool shit with creative people... Kickin' ass, in wood, metal and glass ;)

So HD you inspired a design idea the other day when I was checkin' that badd ass bike of yours... How bout' after the load chamber we drop into a stainless straight pipe and from that taper out to a stainless steel heat exchanger before it hits your lips... Could even add an ice attachment. And totally polish that shit... WhaT?

*Disclaimer* I'm not a vaper. Oh, I've vaped, just not that much. I had an Eterra way back when and a vapir something or other that blew as much out of its seams as into the bag. Vaping has so far never "won me over" though. As such I await Sickstones review with as much anticipation as the rest of you. And since I can't offer much regarding relevant comparisons and whatnot I thought maybe poetry would suffice.

It was an honor putting the guts in your rapid prototype...and with this haiku a fitting start to Zion's existence. It's been a privilege to work with you on this project man! Turned out better than I ever could have imagined!

Btw did you notice the knob goes not only to 11 but to 111?

Tracking number says: Sarah has entered the state @stickstones calls home... Should arrive right on time ;)
