Your Vaporizer Deal Breakers

When going on the hunt for our new toys/life dependent medical equipment there is always going to be some give and take. You have to know what you want, what you hope, what you can do without, what you can live with, and what will make you walk away no matter what else is going on with it. What are the deal breakers out there? What do you absolutely demand? What do you absolutely refuse to put up with?

My deal breakers are;

No palm burn! Excessive heat focused on the palm is game over for me, no matter how good the vapes are. I sold two P-80s and a Tinymight with much of it due to palm burn.

Internal non-swappable batteries will never be in a vape or induction heater I own. I would very happily stick with my vapcaps and a torch before buying something with non swappable batteries again. Too much money for things that are disposable, and of course the inconvenience. Hey Storz & Bickel, I'm kinda thinking of you!

While I can't say this is an "absolute" deal breaker, having proprietary batteries is a strike from the start. There's a lot of Ghost MV1 users out there whom will never find a new battery again.

It can't be a pain in the ass to use.

It can't be a pain in the ass to clean, although my Firewood 7 is a pain to clean. I clean it thoroughly pretty much every day I use it.

What do y'all got?

Vapes with plastic in the air path, and non removable batteries is a no purchase for me. Eliminates a lot of vapes from the running and makes my choices simpler.

What downsides I am willing to accept depends on what the candidate vape has to offer in exchange. For example, if it's just a larger load size, than any small fault will see me walkaway. However, if a new vape could significantly extend the number of flavorful hits I could get with it, then I would accept a number of warts that it may have. It helps that I have low standards no standards.

Large bowls turn me off...but I do wish Dynavaps had a larger bowl....I have to confess I have done a double take on new induction heater Vgoodiez is selling from China

Another I’m a big fan of is the Crossing Tech Core 2.0 for concentrates.

I agree with a lot of what’s already been said here, although I’ve made an exception for the Tafée Bowle and it’s non replaceable batteries. (Ironically the Bowle is also an exception to my next point)

Aluminum is starting to be something I’m not too fond of, especially in the air path.

And I agree with @darbarikanada, I used to stir with conduction devices, but I hate stirring now.
Truth be told, I want something that only extracts one hits worth of materials, so every hit is the perfect flavor and temperature. (Partly why I bought a couple dynavaps, though they never quite where the one hit wonders I was looking for)

The Bowle basically does that if you only put a pinch in the pot, but I want something like that that has a pure glass or zircona pathway.

Not a full dealbreaker, but due to the bowle I’ve become fond of ‘clean oven designs’ (the way the bud will never get the heater screen dirty is brilliant and something like it should be implemented in more devices. The TM gets a pass if you’re using it with a WPA or J hook) along the same thought process of something ‘I demand from my next vape’ is the precise air/bud and bowl temperature control.

Or in other words being able to take massive yet still truly low temp hits.-(I’m curious if the TM/TM2 is good for this?? I’m actually craving more power and lower temperatures than the Bowle can deliver..I fear I’m on the path of getting a desktop ball vape eventually, but I’d much prefer a handheld portable for now, if possible)

This includes toxic materials in the air path, right?
The taste have to be as clean as possible, even over long time use.

Absolutely grab a TM / 2 that is why I like it more than my TB, super low temps possible, using a plain WPA and a triple right angle J hook from OGB the pathway is more pure and has just as much cooling and keeps the heater upside down above the chamber held in one hand, start as low as possible on the dial turning it up a tiny bit after each hit, ideal for what you want I think... Just had to reply!

Plastic in the air path is a matter of concern to me, though not an automatic no-go (eg Mighty). Complicated cleaning or parts that cannot be cleaned / reached with difficulty only are reasons for me to say no. Inaccurate temperature in electronically controlled vapes is a no-go for me. And bad taste is a no go for me

I think I missed that part, but from experience, you can't prevent back-draft and/or partial blowing into the stem (i.e reverse airflow), so vapor will always condense up-stream somehow and find its way. For fine powder I guess gravity can help but with most vapes you don't know how the end user will use them (upside down on a glass piece or the way it was intended when dry hitting)

But anyway, every-time I disassembled a vape, I was shocked by the amount of plant matter that was stuck where it was not supposed to go. So having a vape you can open to thoroughly clean is a definite plus, especially if you intend to cross borders with it.

Conduction heavy hybrids.
Lack of replaceable battery.
Too smelly - no cover.
Too big - won't fit in your pocket.
To much plastic.
Robot fart taste.

Inability to clean the airpath is a dealbreaker for me. Sadly, this rules out most portables, including the "medically certified" ones. It's important not only for reverse airflow/vapor flow creating a mess, but also for particulates that enter the vape.

Somewhat related, materials that prohibit you from wiping down and sanitizing the exterior of the vape are also a huge problem. This is particularly true if you are taking the device to a dirty area. Things like leather and fabric glued to the outside for style, or wood, make this difficult.
