i got what you meant, i just was stating how i feel others would have felt if he would have been using a vaporizer. sorry if im misunderstood sometimes, i tend to have the habbit of looking at a topic from the complete oposite end as everyone else. i view everything backwards, its just my nature.

I just fail to see how it could be portrayed worse if he had been caught using a vaporizer.... 'doing some crack'? C'mon, who are you trying to fool?

Besides, all this really proves is that you can still toke and accomplish much... look at famous actors, athletes, authors, leaders and artists. A lot of them toke and are successful, accomplished people. It's a shame that this is probably going to damage, or potentially destroy his career.

But what pisses me off is someone has to apologize for using a safer recreational substance than alcohol, tobacco, or even caffeine!!! So absurd!

They dont even make it a big deal he was out drinking either, it was ok he was getting drunk, till he hit the bong.

but you have to admit, to someone who has never seen a vaporizer, and someone tells them that this makes pot even stronger, and insert whatever propoganda here its going to scare them more then seeing a bong, which i hope mosteveryone is use to seeing.

we are acustom to the different styles of vapes, but that doesnt mean everyone is. with some of the vapes out right now, they look alot like lab equipment. not all but some. and i dont think that the majority of the public is ready to see such a device no matter what the health benifits with it. personally i feel that when it comes to legalization, we will have a much better chance winning the remainder of the populations vote, if its kept with the likes of pipes, bongs, and joints. less harm is associated with these items then something thats going to get you 2 times as high. even though thats just a trade off (and a damn good on at that) for a way to be healthier than it already is. right now, the current frame of mind, atleast in my part of the country, is against it at whatever cause. and i think a device such as a vaporizer would scare them even more making it harder to convince them otherwise.

He got a DUI when he was 19, which is far far worse in all of our opinions.

VERY popular 23 year old at a college party, wtf did he expect? Maybe that BOAR of a mother of his can keep him locked down.

At any rate, while this IS news, it's Brittany Spears news which is not news at all.

The media who favor Obama cant go hard on him as the presidents half brother was recently arrested for a single joint so says the news.

They will not hang their golden boys.

Yet.

He has to apologize for his endorsement deals. That could be one heck of a costly bowl otherwise.

Just came across this:

Despite pot scandal, sponsors support Phelps

Associated Press ? February 2, 2009

MANCHESTER, England ? Two of Michael Phelps? leading sponsors expressed support for the Olympic great today, a day after he apologized for being photographed in a British newspaper inhaling from a marijuana pipe.

Luxury Swiss watchmaker Omega termed Phelps? actions a private matter and ?nonissue.? Swim wear manufacturer Speedo called the 23-year-old American a ?valued member of the Speedo team.?

Phelps acknowledged ?regrettable? behavior and ?bad judgment? after the photo appeared Sunday in the tabloid News of the World.

Speedo gave Phelps a $1 million bonus for his record eight gold medals at the Beijing Olympics. Phelps joined Speedo in 2001, a year after making his Olympic debut in Sydney. He dominated the Beijing Games in the company?s high-tech LZR Racer suit.

?In light of Michael Phelps? statement yesterday, Speedo would like to make it clear that it does not condone such behavior and we know that Michael truly regrets his actions,? Speedo, which is based in Nottingham, said in a statement to The Associated Press.

?Michael Phelps is a valued member of the Speedo team and a great champion. We will do all that we can to support him and his family.?

Omega said it was ?strongly committed? to its relationship with Phelps, calling his Beijing accomplishments ?among the defining sporting achievements in the history of sport.?

?The current story in the press involves Michael Phelps? private life and is, as far as Omega is concerned, a nonissue,? the company said.

The News of the World said the picture was taken during a November house party while Phelps was visiting the University of South Carolina. Under World Anti-Doping Agency rules, an athlete is subject to sanctions only for a positive test during competition periods.

?Michael Phelps is a great Olympic champion,? the International Olympic Committee said in a statement to the AP. ?He apologized for his inappropriate behavior. We have no reason to doubt his sincerity and his commitment to continue to act as a role model.?
