So if we were to make something that needed a video to accurately showcase it; we would still only be able to submit a picture which would be judged? Could it be a .gif?

To make it fair I have to ask for still pictures. You can add a gif or vid too, but there needs to be stills too.

If a vaporizer that wasn't a Wychwood was in the picture, would it have any less chance of winning?

You can put a vape in the pic if you want, I wont hold a grudge...or will I

Then I tried to make one a little more FC friendly when I got home from work today.

So, a little disclaimer from my entry (or maybe just "try" ): Where I live, there's absolutely no tradition on halloween and I have never before seen anyone carving a pumpkin or tried it myself, and also, it is not easy to find a pumpkin (a round one), so I picked up a watermelon.

I came just for the fun of it, I hope you have some fun as well seeing my absolute beginner watermelon carving skills freaky (still very fun, I assure!) result...

@oaklahomie. Nice work. I'm loving the look of the cannibal pumpkin - he really looks like he got 'caught in the act'.

@farscaper. Very original and freaky. I wouldn't like to wake up next to it!

@banana_republic. Loving that your getting into the spirit. He definitely looks like a Brazilian cousin to the Jack-o-Lantern - who know's, put it on your windowsill and you might start a new trend 'Melancia-o-Lanterna'.

First off, nice carving skills bleak, I attempted a 3d type carving last year but gave up pretty quickly, lol.

- No digital alterations allowed to pictures.

Just to clear things up, all digital pictures are "altered" in camera. I shoot RAW so I must alter them to display them (White balance, tonal curve, sharpening, etc). I'm guessing you mean no "photoshopping" or pixel level editing.

Looking forward to giving this a go and seeing what others come up with. Some great ideas already.

Its not all about technical skill man. I mean im sure its a huge advantage. Since a girl will be judging n she will probably be pretty stoned too, i think the one that she gets the biggest kick out of will be the winner!

You are correct. White balance etc is fine, just no photoshopping etc.

@cereal_mf. That would look kinda funky if you did your avatar. And your right about the judging - as stated in the original post "Judging will be based on creativity, visual appeal, staging and effort." So, not just technical skill.

@BDV. I'd love to see you enter. $1.99 for the carving set, $2.99 for the pumpkin - so for under $5 you could win yourself over $200 worth of vape - worth the risk imo

I've seen some at the 'Intratuin' Djonko, but they were pretty expensive (as one can expect there), especially the large ones. I do like the 'melon' alternative though, if only I could find a straw hat like Banana-dude's

I noticed that everyone around is having lots of fun! No matter who takes the prize, I really loved taking part on this 'crazy contests', specially trying to learn something I have never even though about....

Maybe you can think about something like the worst creation for the next contest (if any), that'd be the big chance for our South American freaky Melancias
