a former client of mine gave me a stock tip, which at the time sounded kind of stupid, so i didn't buy any.

Yeah, my Dad, back in the late 1940's, was approached by a friend of his who wanted to go into partners with him to buy a few acres of land out in the desert in Clark County, Nevada. He told my dad that they were going to build gambling casino's. Land was going for 2000 dollars and acre. My Dad said, "Yeah right. Who in there right mind is going to travel all the way into the middle of the goddamn desert to gamble?" He took a pass. That acreage right now is right in the middle of the Strip in Las Vegas. My mom just loved to tell that story.
