There is no evidence whatsoever at this point that the GH the backers receive will be in any way unfinished or in need of further testing. Of course it is possible that this may be the case.
I know there's the attitude of FC being the final authority on all things vape related, but there is a possibility someone could release a perfectly functioning device without help from this forum.

Agreed and °k all I meant was even big companies tend to release first gens that to me feel like beta's, just a personal view on it, no hard feelings. I worked in quality control and parts inspection before myself, btw never buy a BMW(Literally garbage parts...).

Yes, backing kikckstarters is like contributing to the hope the dream will come true. Like those german cars; you migh dream they are quality but you better hope they will still be working by the time you finalize paying the loan. had a VW once in my lifetime

Long time BMW owner ever since my 2002tii purchased in 1973 right up to the M5 which was my last one with a sprinkling of 320's, 530's and 540's. It's the only brand I ever owned for all those years and they were ALL very reliable.

So no, I totally disagree with your analogy.

Any car company can have their lemons. Hell, just ask GM or Toyota about that. Singling out German cars in your analogy makes no sense whatsoever.

Our TDI Jetta has close to 200,000 miles on it, gets better than 40 mpg on the highway, was paid off years ago, and accelerates like a rocket. So if the GH is anything like our VW, I'll be mighty pleased!

Even junk parts can last a long long time. I'd rather have something made of all QUALITY parts that last a long long time. An educated consumer is your best customer - CAVEAT EMPTOR!

Well I worked in the factory, let me tell you what I saw...

Well first there is the parts, many of them are really really low quality, usually shipped from Taiwan, Chine, and Mexico(Literally all the headlights, man that was a fun week, "fixing" 100's of rickety headlights....ughh). Next up is the people building it and the people inspecting it, literally no training is given, you are put in and have to figure it out and follow others, thing is no one is really qualified or properly trained imo and many of them do a half ass job. I think the best part was when I told them that the bulbs were not properly placed and secured into the headlights and I was told to stick them in there good enough so that they rest and don't fall out, problem is if you hit a bump on the road with those things, the way they were shipped, expect issues.

I have plenty of horror stories about how little attention to quality is given to these cars......but I don't wanna have a wall of text here.

Man, once I was checking the paint on the bottom bumpers, pointed out a bunch of sloppy jobs and my boss was like "ehh its not that bad, let it pass."

I am glad you like your car but in my eyes its no better then any other cheaper car, all the materials were pretty low quality, to be honest even the bolts, screws, etc...felt pretty bad strength and durability wise(some felt the ones that snapped on my TV mount, you know those shitty screws they give with those things sometimes...?), my friend agreed who I worked with who pretty much loves cars, place grossed him out also. It's funny, most people I worked with when I asked "would you buy one of these cars?" they laughed or just said straight out no.

This was the US factory in SC, I have heard the one in Germany puts out much much higher quality cars.....but I never been to it so I would have 0 clue....

Most cars last a while even if made badly, Snappo is correct with that.

My satisfaction may be due to the fact that none of my cars were made in that factory.

They basically just make all the X-series, early Z-series and some of the early 318i/328i series.

I guess it's the reason why making very general, sweeping comments like "btw never buy a BMW(Literally garbage parts...)" can be more than a bit misleading.

The BMW parts (engine parts) we make are pretty damn precise and they send back any "flaws". Even if we can't find a flaw, it's a scrapped part. Even our mopar parts are extremely picky..

BMW makes good engines but you must maintain it religiously. You see it's the supporting equipment that make BMW long term reliability sketchy. For example cooling system. Cheap hoses and too much plastic cause future cooling problems. I was a mechanic for a few good years. Seen these problems repeated. This is the part that sucks. Parts and labor are always crazy when it comes to BMW.

Yeah I was honestly shocked by some of the parts that were used in them, I am sure the engines are fine, its the other stuff that I noticed being shoddy...
