World Crime Map. Murder, rape and assault in the countries.

The world is a dangerous place, but some places are safe ( murder 1 of 100.000 and assault 10 of 100.000 people ) and others are as dangerous as a cage with apes ( murder 50 and assault 1000 of
100.000 people ).

The murderrate normally lays between 1 and 100 of 100.000 residents. The same is the raperate.
Japan 1, germany 10 and some african states up to 100.

The assault rate lays between 0,1 ( Philipines ) and 2000 ( England ).

Also interesting is the number of people, who are in prison. In america 715 of 100.000 people sit in jail ( hell ). In india only 29 of 100.000 sit in jail.

http://www.prisonstudies.org/research-publications?shs_term_node_tid_depth=27 was the most credible source I could find. The numbers posted in the OP might be more helpful if it were sorted by number of people in prison or murders instead of by size of country (I know China is the largest population). Then there's the whole 'waiting for pretrial' crowd of folks that are just detained for who knows how long.

The numbers are only meaningful on a per capita basis...China has no business at the top of any list.

eg The US has 6 times( x6.23 or 525% more(no fire/vape screens involved) ) the number of people locked up when compared to China.....land of the free!
