For a healthy alternative, a vegan, glutenfree, sugarfree, simple, basic recipe :
150 gram almonds or hazelnuts, lightly roasted
150 gram Dates, pitted
100 gram coconut oil
3 tablespoons Maple syrup
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
*Line a 20x20 cm ovendish with parchment paper
*Melt the oil gently in a double boiler
*Grind the nuts and dates in a food processor until very fine, but not so far that they release their oils
*Mix in the rest of the ingredients, make sure to mix it well
*Put the mass into the ovendish, spread it, and press gently to flatten it
*Let it set in the fridge and cut into bitesize pieces
I use about 10 gram pieces, so this recipe would make me about 40 pieces, you just have to figure out how much canna oil you want to use in the recipe to suit it to your needs.
You could spread it with a chocolate ganache, or just melt a thin layer of pure chocolate over it, dip the pieces in chocolate, etc etc
