Why can't I get the same "high" than I used to get?

I have an Extreme Q and DDave. Its not the vape. Its probably your tolerance. I notice if im smoking/vaping all day i dont get as much out of it, but the way i currently use it like 2-3x a day, a bowl or two at a time, i guess keeps my tolerance from getting too high.

However another thing is if the method is always the same, it seems like its good to switch it up. So if youre always hitting the V tower, try hitting the bong and see how you feel. Ive always felt there wasnt full cross-tolerance between different methods

As far as sub par weed, if youre generally smoking about the same grade, thats probably not it. The longer the break you take the better. Tolerance is always a thing, it doesnt matter how strong your weed or extracts are. Eventually you will be used to them if youre using them all the time.

But i noticed you said you only smoke once a week, so you *should* be getting stoned. The V Tower is a decent vape esp with a DDave so it should work fine. But again, try having a bowl and see how you feel

PS anandamide is naturally occuring thc IIRC?
In that video that guy who "plays devil's advocate" i guess doesnt realize that us cannabis research on the federal level is compromised because they only give out weed for research that doesnt even look like decent regs. More like oregano. So there would be very little "medicinal benefit" cause theres almost no thc

Interesting thread :) For me, my mental state has a huge effect.... If I'm already in a great mood and bopping then I am more likely to get that positive, trippy up (don't forget it's also hugely depended on the type of bud). If I'm on a downer that it's more likely that I will feel the mind slowing stoned type effects.

It's also been mentioned that routine is a big part of it as well. Mix it up a bit so your brain doesn't pass go and jumps straight ahead.

Been experimenting with micro dosing and it's allowed me to slow down, enjoy the experience and achieve the state i want.

By the way, The Cure rock! Bumped into Rob in Liverpool (my friend New them) but he was a little too theatrical so decided not to go for a pint with him ;)

Be sure to take small t-breaks (it is good for you), alternate between strains strength and quality, shake things up by using a few different vapes. For me I have found vapes with a low draw restriction gets me higher and I enjoy the feel of a free flowing draw better in my lungs.

It is normal not to get as high when you were a noob. Do not worry at some point you are going to take a few draws and that old 'knock you on your ass high' will be there once again infrequent though it may be.

I have had that strong noob high hit at the most inconvenient times. Many years ago I took my normal two or three draws before work and when I got there I was completely non-functionally slammed just like some of my first cannabis highs, lucky it was only a coffee shop LMAO!. It is simply amazing when this 'noob high' happens to me. Don't worry you will get there again so keep on practicing.

I met a guy on another thread here that claims he gets high most days on a dose so small that he can pass a test for cannabis use. he uses Omega 3 fatty acids and peppercorns as supplements he thinks helps with that.

Some mindfullness and meditation exercises might also help.

i think a 2 week T break might also help. i understand the OP is only weekends, but a longer T break might help.

What I have noticed personally: i tend to do small doses via tinctures most of the time and vape only 1-2 times weekly. I think the sublingual tinctures may develop tolerance less than vaping.

Got to add that by just slowing down, leaving at least 15 minutes between bowls and putting smaller amounts in have allowed me to get exactly where I want. Whether that is pain relief or those amazing body,pulsing,tingling high and everything in between.

Ok, I am micro dosing. I've gotten down from approx 1g a day to 0.1g a day. I'm not suggesting you go micro, but it has made me realise that I was ODing on it and burning money, not getting any significant increase in effect.

i know your mainly of a weekend, but might be worth a try :)

Well, it has been some months and still like experimenting about tolerance/kind of high/habits.

I've been vaporizing every weekend, friday and saturday night.Even sundays, but since I have to drive to work on mondays, I don't want to take risks vaporizing , because if I have an accident or something and they find pot in my blood, could be an ugly thing to handle.

So, I always enjoy my time at friday and saturday nights, relax time after a really hard and stressing week....some lve concert on TV, a cool space / science fiction documentary.... I begin vaporizing at 23:00h and sometimes I go to bed at 3:00....sometimes I pass away on the couch and go to bed at 5 :D

Well, though I vap from weekend to weekend, I have for sure built tolerance in my highs...not so psicodelic and not so funny as it used to be when I began vaporizing after years and years without cannabis (I'm in my 40's now and last time I smoke a joint was 28, because I hate to smoke).Indeed, it has become like a routine and has become a little boring, so I have stopped to vap for a couple of weeks, and lets see what happens. But this last weekend I've really missed vaping, miss that time on my own, the relax, the vap effect on the brain and body.....it was not as fun as the beggining, but still missed it, it was like there was no more "saturday night fun", just watched a movie and went to bed.

This has caught somehow my attention....I'm for sure not an addict ;), but I missed vaping.

Sure the "hiatus" is for the best, and I'll appreciate it more next time I vap (or hope so!), but I felt like I really wanted to vap last saturday. Didn't and was not hard to do, but for sure missed it, these two weekends have been kind of boring, missing something.....guess the same would have happened with anything you like to do in a regular basis and you stop doing, but I find the subject interesting.

I remembered one thing Amy Winehouse said when she won a Grammy, confessing to a friend, when everybody was celebrating that "This is so boring without drugs...."

Guess cannabis is a nice thing to enjoy, like alcohol, chocolate or whatever other thing you do for pleasure, but is funny how it changes perspective and point of view of how to have fun.

Should I continue vaping every weekend, though I enjoyed less every session, or should I space them so I really apprciate it / have more or better highs?

Is an interesting question I wanted to share with you so you can share your experiences and point of view.

Exactly just because the highs aren’t not as intense as they used to be even though know I wonder if really those intense highs were just from mixing with blood pressure medication made them that way but even know I really have no desire to take a break yeah maybe if I do maybe that intense high could come back bu why should I take 2-3 days off just to feel like crap forget the high not being what it used to be I’m still getting very happy the buzz may be weaker but it’s still there anxiety stays at bay I’m relaxed and well honestly not so sound rude but Cannabis isn’t about withdrawing from people. It’s alters your perception of them so there more tolerable. Kind of true though for some people but I get very social anxiety as well.

Hello mate. Thank you for so openly sharing and expressing your thoughts feelings and experiences on this subject which I can relate to perfectly well you have expressed your feelings very clearly.
I'm honestly not sure what to advise you accept keep on as you are learning with your own intuition about your own body, mind, situation, needs, desires and best interests.

Just seek the happiest and most content place you can find without putting too much pressure on yourself to achieve any specific thing. The point is we just aren't in control of our lives and where we are going and what happens quite to the extent we think in terms of actually being able to understand and figure things out accurately how can we expect to do this as silly mortals on any level?

Life is a river. Nothing is ever staying the same things are always changing particularly our awareness and surely this is going to be related to your experience here as your awareness has changed over time your perception is different therefore how you feel and experience the world and think inside your own mind is different and ultimately this will be why those marvelously blissful initial cannabis experiences you had you are still so keen to try and experience that level of comfort and happiness and excitement again.

I think you will have more chance of finding utopia and peace if you are able to completely let go of this way of thinking and longing and start looking forward to new pastures and new experiences even if everything else in your life stays the same by changing your mindset, expectations hopes and desires you will certainly open up new doors and possibilities of ways of feeling and experiencing life and situations and who knows what that could bring with it.

That is my best advice to you on a philosophical level of course but just from my own way of seeing things I don't mean to patronize or impose upon you at all.
Okay, I just added that in off the top of my head quickly I wasn't planning to comment on the main topic originally I was just going to make one point in reference to your comment below:

If you are purposely not vaping on Sunday so that you will have a better chance of Passing a blood test for cannabis on Monday driving to work there is absolutely no point or benefit here because the cannabis will be in your system and your blood stream for at least 30 days after use so it would make absolutely no difference regarding the outcome of a potential blood test if you had had one day off beforehand.

I understand and appreciate your reasons for only vaping on Friday's and Saturday's and I'm sure that it suits you as part of this plan to take Sundays off and is probably good in the long run to help you keep your discipline and prevent your use from expanding in a habit-forming nature.

Just making that point anyway that you do not need to be thinking I better not like on Sunday in case I get my blood tested driving to work tomorrow.

Best of luck with everything in your attempts to find happiness in all areas of life as well as Vaping. :):tup:

If I had to be honest before weed I know I’m a little crazy but If weed has changed me like this I really believe if everyone was always high this world would be a much better place if it was on weed. If you don’t count the cities really how many violent pot heads have you ever heard of and if they were violent were they on something else as well

I don't need weed for anxiety, I'm just a recreative user, do it for the pleasure, so no problems if I don't vap... guess is different when weed helps you with other problems, maybe a break is not worth then.

Thanks for your reply, vey interesting in its contest. About the last point I quoted, is not because a drug test, I don't pass any drugs test in my job. Is just because I live in a non cannabis friendly country, and if I'm driving monday early morning and I have an accident, not even being my fault, police always do these salive drug test, and if they find cannabis on it, you are screwed, insurance will not respond becuase you are on drugs and you'd be held responsible of the accident. AFAIK, these salive drug test can find if you have vaporized / smoke cannabis in the last 24 hours hours, so that's why I don't like vaping on sundays

Yeah definitely I get so bad with anxiety I’m not comfortable going out n crowds or socializing. Now I will say It doesn’t not always help wit socializing it takes the right strain but in general I’m more com relaxed happy and I don’t worry about the small stupid stuff like I’m the one that it will happen to walking in a bank that gets robbed or if I’m skiing there will be a massive earth quake while I’m on the lift at the steepest point or as dumb as it sounds a force stronger then gravity will suck me out of the sky or the winds will be so bad it freaks me out and I panick or the lift cable will
Breaks and I’ll fall and tumble down hill backward, or driving across bridges it will collapse when I’m in the middle of it or I’ll get stuck in traffic and wind will pick up and blow me off into the ocean or bay. All that stuff is stupid but it’s hkw bad I can get and when I’m high I don’t think of that stuff. I have tried anxiety medications before nothing has helped the way pot has. Even though I’m on it for chronic pain and it doesn’t not work nearly as well as I was led to believe it’s actually making a huge difference for my anxiety and calming me down

You are definitely one of our most disciplined vaporists! You are actually an inspiration to me right now as I am currently working on modifying my own cannabis usage which has not been optimum for me for some time and can be very dysfunctional.
So you are very good motivation for me in that sense.

I hear you on the saliva test. That thing really sucks the assholes. I know that is affected by prior vaping, I just wanted to make sure you knew about the blood detection duration seeing as you only mentioned blood test initially. But you clearly know the drill.

I'm really enjoying the Fllowerpot, and also my Extreme EQ.Love the long sessions with the whip, I'm a romantic and still remember my first vaping sessions with the Extreme, so I alternate between the Flowerpot and the Extreme.

I'd like to have better / more psicodelic highs, so it requires a little effort and not indulge yourself everytime you'd like to (hope so, maybe after 15 days of abstinence my high will be better, I'll tell this next weekend!) .Is like eating pizza (love pizza!) I have to manage also how much weed I use.When I was chasing that "first high" I started to vap more and more weed for session.Didn't achieve that kind of high again, and learned it has nothing to do with the amount of weed you vap.You'll get stoned, but the high will not feel the same.So I'm gonna startt using 0,25 per session again and see what happens....guess is more or less what a packed elbow in the extreme contains, I've had wonderful psicodelic fun highs with that amount.

Have you considered going the edible route? I've heard that can be more psychedelic than inhalation, due at least partly to the change from delta-9-THC to 11-hydroxy-THC. It'll also last longer.
