Why bother getting a Variable Temperature Vape?

Hello Folks,

Ive been skulking around the forums as a guest for the last few months... And made my decision to buy my first vape: The I-olite.

Its a great little vape, and i can happily have a bowl to myself and get a very good stone, or share it with one other for a softer stone.

Ive seen it mentioned on the forums that for your "main" vape you should get one that allows you to adjust the temperature, i guess its so you can get the most out of your grade...

So i was summing up which one to get... and am settling between the V-tower extreme and the herbal-aire.

The extreme interests me cause... well it looks cool, and seems to do everything well. and will be a hit if i decide to use it with a few friends, i also like that you can see the herb being vaped and can have a clear indication of when its 'spent' as someone pretty new to vaping this interests me a lot... Also it apparently goes to a higher temperature then the HA..

The HA interests me because of its so called efficiency, Overall i dont have a high tollerance, so i want the option to vape a small amount just for when im alone, but i dont like that it seems you have to pick up the whole thing... or wait a very long time for a bag to inflate. Meaning if i did share it it wouldnt be that good.

Sorry ive been waffling... To summarise:

1. Why bother getting a variable temp vape over something specialised like the iolite? Am i going to get a heavier more intense stone?

2. Does the extreme get hotter then the HA and will this actually result in more overall "use" of the herb?

Thanks in advance! I apologise if this has been answered before... ive done a fair bit of searching on the forums but cant seem to find something to answer my questions.

Higher temps give you a few more analgesic and sedative compounds. If you're using for pain relief you'd probably want the option to go hotter. You also get more toxins at higher temps-also a sedative effect. So if you like the couchlock feeling you get with smoking....

No, it doesn't get hotter. In fact, the herbalAire probably gets hotter, but it's not a big deal. Don't let the temp settings on the Extreme lead you astray. They're not the actual vaping temps.

You mean for direct draw? It comes with a whip, so you don't have to pick it up. And with direct draw the pump tubing isn't connected and it's a small, light unit, so even if you do pick it up it's neither large or heavy-as easy to hold as a PD. You can fill a bag faster with the Extreme, but you can put a higher output pump on the herbalAire too. They have an optional pump, or you can just buy an aquarium pump.

IMO the main differences in the two are 1-thicker hits in whip mode from the Extreme (especially loading the elbow screen), 2-fan assisted whip hits from the E, if that interests you 3- the herbalAire, since it's analog and has no glass parts, is less likely to give you problems over time. The display and remote are nice features on the Extreme, but also more risky reliability wise. Both companies have excellent customer service.

Might want to check a vaporwarez/doc/bros or a DBV as well if you aren't looking for the bag functionality
