@HellsWindStaff

Not offended man, we all have/entitled to our opinions, I was just wondering if that was your stance and where the information was coming from if so.

Vape on regardless.

No offense to any one but it's a sad reflection on American Society when an openly racist megalomaniac can even be considered for anything which may involve making decisions for a nation.

I never have and probably never will vote for anyone. I said a long, long time ago politicians don't give a flying fuk about the average Joe. It's all about jobs for the boys and ensuring the rich remain rich.
I know there are a lot of folk who will be saying 'If you don't vote then you have nothing to complain about' or that 'By not voting you are actually voting for the party that wins anyway'.

I firmly believe every single voter should have the choice of making a 'vote of no confidence' or 'none of the above' vote. It would give the people who want to see some kind of change for the better a voice. At the moment they are just a part of the percentage of non-voters. If enough people made a no confidence vote then you would hope someone would listen.

You can do that/thousands do... It is an act of futility though. Nobody cares who you didn't vote for, and never will. Just that someone did get more votes than the other person... Of course it is a right to do nothing as well.

What is important is that you vote on your county guys, and the issues though, if there are any. The county folks can/do have direct impacts on your immediate life and so do the issues.

Luckily, I live in Washington State, and we can vote by mail. I am astonished to see on Nightly News folks waiting in line for hours on Election Day. How sad to want to vote, but be stymied on Election Day.

The next president will be able to appoint Supreme Court Justices, most likely, and that will set the direction the country will take going forward. I think this is more important than who is president.

As a gay man, I can't help noting that the Republican candidates want to put us gays all back in the closet. For women, losing the right to choose family planning methods seems to be a goal of Republicans. Making the US into a Christian Theocracy is another concern. Whose Christian Faith will be the model? Southern Baptist? Roman Catholic? Episcopalian?

I was lucky enough to be in Costa Rica during a presidential election in the late 70's. In Costa Rica, Election Day is a federal holiday. It seemed more like a giant fiesta, with people in cars honking their horns in cadence to their candidate's last name. "CAR-RAZ-ZO, Bee-Beeeeep-Beep", "MON-JE, Beeeep-beep", and banners held high in cars and trucks, rippling in the wind filled the streets. I think they had an 86% turnout.

I wish our election day was like that.

If the election process was by direct vote and truly open then the process would be more responsive to the will of the people but it isn't. Like many things in the country access to the reins of power is restricted to the few and much of the power of the individual is illusionary.
However you are right the closer the government is to the people the easier it is to access control but without the funding and cooperation of the next legal tier up in the governmental food chain then access at the local level can be pointless at times. Sadly as a nation we have accepted government as a tool of control and not as a tool of representation, but its the only game in town.

As Crohnie predicted, dark horse candidate Governor John Kasich is making his move.

Look at these polling numbers for the New Hampshire Primary!

1. Donald Trump: 31%
2. John Kasich: 13.3%
3. Marco Rubio: 12.5%
4. Ted Cruz: 12.3%
5. Chris Christie: 8.3%
6. Jeb Bush: 8.3%
7. Rand Paul: 4.3%
8. Carly Fiorina: 3.8%
9. Ben Carson: 3.3%

Kasich is just the type of moderate, establishment type the Republicans have nominated every election cycle since 1968.

Biden/Warren VS Trump/Cruz. I seriously do not see either Clinton or Sanders nominated. Originally Bush was designated to lose to Clinton because it's only fair; it's her turn. Between now and the conventions there will be a lot of interesting twists and turns. Not really thrilled with any of the candidates except possibly Gary Johnson.

Future ruler of earth
I'm not a Republican or Democrat at heart, I actually do the booths in NY, it's super funny because I am listed as Dem on file but they also have me "Play" a republican at the election tables because usually the people who volunteer are Democrats, so my name tag has Republican on it.

To me, they are two sides of the same coin, if I had to pick a candidate this go it would be Rand Paul, only because I like his father and feel he would persuade him on many issues.

Truth is though, we are fucked anyway...But if I had to pick my least favorites this go it would be a tie between Sanders/Trump/Hillary(I hate myself) although I feel Bernie will fuck the economy worst.

I truly believe it's all set in stone and it's pick by a small top elite before the show even starts...oh the show, does it feel like it's been going on longer this time?
