Hi all.

I'm trying to decide which vape to buy and was hoping that you might be able to help me make up my mind.

I'm looking at either the Arizer Extreme Q Vaporizer, the Arizer V Tower, or the the Pax 3.

Price has ruled out the Firefly, Mighty, Crafty and the Volcano for this purchase.

Price is a consideration for the three options too as I can get the the V for £86.95 ($114.00 )in a sale, the Q for £129.99 ($171.00), and the Pax 3 for £169.99 ($223.58) in a sale.

While I do like the idea of having a portable aside from holidays I will only use the vape at home and I don't have one coming up any time soon so it is not critical for my first dry herb vape.

If it helps, here is a little bit of background. Up until 2 months ago I was a fairly heavy med user. I have had a break for 2 months purely because I decided to give up smoking and I was mixing with tobacco.

At the moment I am using a liquid vape (sub ohm) for nicotine replacement, and am now looking for a dry herb vape to fulfil the other need.

What do you think? The V tower, the Extreme Q or the Pax 3 or perhaps another even?

The 3 models you have listed are fairly old. I suggest an on demand device for high tolerances. Haze Square might be what you need if you can spend a little time learning how to use it or a log vape like the e-nano

Not in the list, and have no idea how much it would cost you (including shipping and import fees) but consider the E-nano.
Now, regading the options of the poll. I voted EQ assuming you would want to play with the balloon option. BUT, I dislike balloons, so I would actually prefer the VTower over the EQ.

EDIT: quick search on enanos in the UK and HomeGrown Logs could be an alternative for you.

I took a look at the E-Nano but by the time I mess about with extra stems just in case, importing, tax if it gets customs checked, power adaptor etc its going to be a bit pricey. I do like the idea of it though and think I will put it on my wish list for purchase later down the line.

Saw Homegrown on here in another thread, but it seems its a one man outfit and he has been awol since September last year, Even before then people were talking 1 year waiting times, so sadly that doesn't look to be a realistic solution for right now.

On the EQ / V thing I'm really torn between those two. I'm not convinced by balloons and I don't think it will be for me but I do like the idea of at least trying it out before I dismiss them completely. Quite happy with the idea of having a whip. As for the remote control option on the EQ, I sort of want it because its there but I know I don't really need it and it will provide little real benefit to me in reality.

Maybe I should just go cheap for the moment with the V, and then save a little, pick up something like the Solo 2 for when I need a portable, and then get an an E-nano a little later down the line when having to wait for it / spares isn't an issue

Are you in Detroit or the UK? I am confused.

These vapes are quite different. I have experience with the Extreme Q. It is a good solid vape. If you buy it you should get yourself a shorter 18mm F to 18mm F to replace the cyclone bowl. This will bring your medicine closer to the heater.

If you are in the USA check out the prices ($149 in many places, but you can probably find for less).

For Europe check the prices and shipping costs from Planetvape.ca and puffitup.com.

I doubt this will help the confusion, but I would recommend an Arizer Solo or Solo 2 as a first vape.

Arizer products are currently on sale!

Haze Square is a great option. Under $200. Great performance. Should check this thread out. A lot of phase 2 users such as myself are really enjoying the unit.

I'm in the UK - My profile was just set up around the robocop theme and he was made in Detroit.

I've just spotted the Solo 2 on sale on one UK website for £174.99 ($236.98) compared to a usual price of £222.95 ($293.55)

I don't live in the USA so I know what you mean about the enano (and any other vape only sold in canada or usa) being costly due to import fees, taxs, etc. I have it in my wishlist as my next vape.

Oh, and too bad about HGL. Hope some UK based vapourist manages to help enano potential customers.

And yeah, if you have the money to spare on an EQ instead of the Vtower knowing you wont really use the balloons, id say go for it anyway. I can't deny I have wanted my vtower to have a remote and a fan to help the unit cool faster after using. BUT, either way with EQ or VT, do try to find a supplier for a shor F/F adapter if not able to buy from DDave directly. Can't vouche for it my self, but once you have one of the units you will realize how obviously better it would be to have a shorter adapter. I would already have one if i could.

And regarding the solo II, i'd wait for the Fierce (aka Fury 3: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/healthy-rips-fierce.26457/)... it's suposed to be released this june and the descriptions seems like it will be quite a rival for the solo II.

Healthy Rips Fury 2 ... I think this vape is a great vape especially for the price. I would pick the Fury 2 over the Pax 3 every single day of the week.

:2c:

setting aside portablity, etc, how would the vapour quality of a fury 2 compare to a EQ/Vtower vapor quality?

As a UK heavy user (Or I was, vaping seems to have cut my use by about 75%) I'd have to say no to a Fury 2 as a home vaporizer.
It's an awesome portable, it's my first real vape and I love it, but I'm constantly putting it on charge, now that I'm actually sold on the whole vaporizing concept I want a proper, plug-in, home vaporizer.

I'd rule out the Pax 3, Arizer Solo's and any other portables for the same reason, portables are great but there's no point putting up with the drawbacks (however minor) of constrained size and form unless you need to. That includes the Haze Square, which I'm also dubious about after reading the thread on here. There's been a few issues mentioned, it is very new and the manufacturer seems to be taking steps to improve it with each iteration, but I'd rather wait until they've worked the bugs out before spending my money.

Frankly I'd rule out the Solo's as portables too, since they're not very portable. If it doesn't fit into a jeans pocket it's not conveniently portable, the Solo looks like it might just about fit by itself but the glass stem rules that out.

I have no idea on your V-Tower / Extreme Q choice but maybe I've helped narrow it down a little at least :p

You want a desktop take a look at the Rise 2.0 by Vapir. I haven’t used mine in a bit as I’ve been all up on my Haze square that is fantastic.

The reason I suggested a Solo II (or even a Solo OG ) was not because it was "portable". I suggested the Solo and Solo 2 because they have 2 (Solo og) to 3 (Solo II) hours of vaping between charges.

The Arizer products are known to be well built and they are able to give strong hits that an ex-smoker would enjoy. The Solo (either) is transportable around the house so you can vape in front of the TV and take it with you to the bedroom in case you have pain in the middle of the night. There are over 1590 pages in the Solo Thread with over 3.7 MILLION. Arizer has upgraded the Solo over the time since it first was on the market.

While I among those waiting for the arrival of the FIERCE I would have to advise that as a first and only vape. I would suggest getting a vape with a longer track record (say 90 days) to make sure there are no bugs to air out.

I've just pressed the trigger on a Solo 2. Managed to find one for £162.00 ($213.41) which seems to be a pretty good price for the UK.

I hope my advice helped you. You have made a wise choice, you will not regret it.

While waiting for your Solo 2 you can check out the Solo II Thread under portable vapes.
