Which direction are you going in? Can you relate to this?

This might be a pointless post, but I'll just put this out there, to see if anyone can relate.

My journey has been basic, and still regard myself as a noob tbh. Spent a few years with just a Dynavap. Then got a Solo 2. Then 'upgraded' to a Volcano Hybrid. Promptly got shot of both the Volcano and the Solo, and back to my Dynavaps. Then I started researching the bigger hot sticks, and decided on The Dani Fusion. I've enjoyed the Dani, but the Dynavap was still easily dominating the reach test.

Why? I think two reasons. Firstly the Dynavap is the master at keeping my tolerance in check, and secondly, I just prefer using it over the Dani. I think this is because in the back of my mind, the Dani is a thing that can burn, which for me is a bit of a buzz-kill (I understand people burn themselves on a Dynavap, but I just can never see myself doing this, ever).

Recently I bought the little Camouflet Convector. This little thing has absolutely blown me away. I just love the fact that it's pretty much the same size of a joint, is light asf, and cools down so fast. And it really does deliver as well, and super efficient. It's just perfect in every way for me.

So, a few months ago, I was considering purchasing some of those other hot sticks, eg, The Tornado and perhaps The Tempest, but now have absolutely zero interest. I'll probably end up selling my Dani Fusion as well now. I've pre-order a Legacy Pro 2 (the only electronic vape on the market that remotely interests me), and going to purchase the bigger Camouflet and a Vaponic.

So, to sum up. My direction is now to avoid the HOT hot sticks. They're just not my bag. Strange how it's taken a while for me to realise this. My journey nears the end....

For now.

Sorry for waffly post. Having that Eureka moment, and probably just needed to get it off my chest.

I totally get what you’re saying. It’s why I think comparing the dynavap and convector to the higher mass hot sticks is a little unfair.

The dynavap and convector are both so thermally agile - can get them up to temp with a small torch, take a satisfying hit and pocket them in such a fast time.

My Anvil, Tornado and TA3 are great when I’m not in a rush - I can really get the heat soaked in with a bigger torch, and take advantage of that extra mass for a more robust hit and/or longer session off one heat cycle.

Different tools for different use cases! Neither are better or worse, just different.

If you’ve found what works for you then keep with it, nothing wrong with that at all. It can be easy to get caught up in a hype cycle when what you’ve already got is doing the job just fine.

Second @simba recommendation for a Vaponic, they’re good fun and very flavourful without losing too much of the thermal agility you seem to value.

That's a great way of putting it. There's just so many aspects to this vaping, that I'm only really starting to appreciate. And this is certainly an important one for my tastes/preferences (along with the type of ritual you prefer, and the tactile aspects as well). And your mention of being caught up in a "hype cycle" is spot on. This is frustrating because I'm usually the type of person who wants to buy just one good quality thing and then remain faithful to it for years (no offence to those who enjoy collecting though). It's nice for the elusive obvious to finally become obvious, haha, and draw the line in the sand of what will not go well with your tastes and wants (regardless of the hype).
