Which 250$ Vape?

I'm going to throw in another vote for HA or SSV. HA is super versatile, but the draw can get a little tough. The draw on the SSV is super easy, but not as versatile. I too have my HA hooked up to a bong to water cool it and it gives huge rips. The Solo looks like a sick portable vape that I am considering, but from what I've heard, the draw is very hard (like drinking a frozen milkshake). Also remember that you cannot use the solo while it's charging unless you buy a $40 aftermarket adapter.

I will buy the adapter if I buy the Solo, so no problem there. How is the draw in the Solo compared with the Iolite? What are the best stems for the Solo? I will be using it almost always with the GonG adaptor and sometimes with a bent, but don't know what are the best of all the options in PV.

Don't get hung up on precise temps. It's a waste of time.

i totally disagree with this ... i personally will never have a vape that doesn't have a direct readout of heater temperature. this way i know for sure if the vape is working properly or if the meds are weak.

a digital BBQ thermometer that costs $10 can do the job quite well.

As posted above (and many times before), the draw on the Solo with stock stems is akin to trying to drink a thick milkshake with a straw.

My advice? Start with the 14mm PVHEGonG Turbo. It's the easiest stem to maintain, offers great airflow and it's tough. It makes a great mouthpiece too, and even if you have a waterpipe with an 18mm joint you can just use an 18>14 reducer and keep a streamlined look.

Thanks KON, I wasn't sure what will be the best GonG. After watching you video milking I'm sure you know the best option :p

Just out of curiosity, any comparation in the draw of Solo vs Iolite? I hope the Solo don't have more drag

Most people aren't going to end up with a vape with accurate temp readout, and most of those aren't going to mess with an external thermometer (or know how to use it correctly), so for those/most, worrying about the correct temp is pointless. Hell, a lot of people don't have any use for vapor unless it's near combustion and harsh enough to choke on. I'd love to have an accurate (built in) display/controller, but currently the only ones available belong to vapes I'm not interested in. Maybe some day.

I'm trying to understand what you mean by drag.

TBH, it's been a while since I've used my Iolite. I do remember the draw being quite restrictive on it too. If I can find it, I'll do a test later.

From memory? I'd say a stock Solo stem and the Iolite have roughly the same draw, perhaps the Solo is slightly more restricted. I think the Solo has much better airflow with a PVHES.

Isn't drag the resistance? That's what I thought, maybe it's only used in bongs and water tools?

Both the iolite and the solo stock stem benefit from long, slow draws. Slower draws maintain a higher temp while fast draws cool it off. You might want to hold off on buying the power adapter. I haven't found it necessary so far. With the PA you can use the solo while its plugged in, but if you just keep it plugged in it should always be ready. The heat up time on the solo is fast, 2-3 minutes to heat up the unit plus letting the loaded stem heat up to warm your herb. Battery seems to last nearly 2 hours depending on how hot you run it. The solo also uses the same size screen as the iolite. You definitely want to use screens. Also, I've been using the new WPA from MagicFlight to connect the solo to a bong. It fits the solo stem perfectly. Given the choice I'd rather spend the money on the mflb WPA than the solo power adapter.

that PA ^^ I wish I had that when I was in Amsterdam just now...but nevertheless I never ran out of battery :) but it was little bit annoying...I guess if I had the PA I would even enjoy the solo more because I couldn't go crazy 24/7 vaping ...

I dont wan't to arrive to my house and being not able to vape because I used all the battery out. I think the PA is good invested money.

About the WPA, why will I want to use it if I can use the PVHEGonG?

the best stem IMO is: the PVHES normal, straight tube with carrying tube. (store your tube with one of the solo caps inside that tube will insulate it from damage while in transit.

btw I agree great choice on your new vape the solo is a great lil vape! my "go to" portable vape when i'm not at home.

i agree, I don't think you would either

Wise observations indeed. I am firmly of the opinion that if the draw of a vapourizer feels restricted, you're pulling too hard. Experience backs me up on this time and again.

Vaporizer designers aren't idiots. They don't just toss a bunch of components together, they think about their designs and they try a lot of things before they decide. If FizzBang Vapes makes a device with a restricted airpath, that just might be because that's how the device performs best. That doesn't mean you should immediately look for ways to "improve" the airflow, it means you should adjust your draw to match the design.

I'm lost as to why you would want another if you have a table top and a portable. I do like the idea of selling the Iolite and getting a Solo even sell your table top and Iolite buy a Arizer Q and a Solo I have an Arizer Q. and a portable I'll buy a bubbler and keep my $500 it's hard once we get our minds set on something we think we want. Keep your $500 don't buy a cloud give to charity.

I love my Solo but i would miss my better tasting vapes.. although the difference is small, i can still tell the difference between the Solo and my Wychwood. The same goes for the Gn0mes which are the ones who give me the purest flavour yet.

I don't know if a wiser choice would be a nice table top like an LSV or a log vape. A wychwood since i believe you are from Europe would be just right i believe.

If you are from the US, a couple more choices present of course, but still, a log or an LSV would be my choice.

A portable is nice when out, so i always give the first spot to the experience at home.

I still feel you would be happy with the Solo, it is a great buy and very versatile and pratical. Still, i would not trade it for others and i always prefer other vaporizers at home.

Although, i must say, yesterday i had a nice Solo session with my Ehle and it pairs great with it. :)

vorrange,
Gotta love the LSV !
But in the real world, get what you want. "The heart wants what the heart wants" as they say. Whatever you think is coolest, just dive in. You only live once! If there's something you really want, but pass over for a more realistic choice, you'll be thinking "what if" for a long time.
Last resort...get a big ol' bag of The Good Stuff and drift away.......:)

Maybe a couple of those bad-ass walnut MFLBs'? Great stocking stuffers! (P.m. Me for home address).

Hi,

Wow, hasn't the cost dropped a little lately?

So, how much for a complete starter kit?... ;)

This is a rhéostatic type of convection vaporizer, correct? Electronic or purely mechanic???

All glass, ceramic and stainless steel in the hot locations and aluminium as a shield, as i recall... Plus it's got a cozy carrying bag.

Hummm... Somewhere it says « butane-free » but i think i figure that much! Good point though.

:peace:

I really like the LSV and it has a very good price, but I think I will get the solo in the end. It's a nice "hybrid" vape, I can use it in my house and also when I go out. I think I'm bored of the Iolite and his taste, so if I sell it, I will need another portable and for a little more of 200$ I can have the Solo with everything I will need.

Still thinking about the LSV tho...

Well the fact that the solo works on a battery makes it so good...I haven't used the LSV but I can tell you as the solo is just as good as it gets...some have small issue with taste? I found the taste to be amazing...I've tried the cloud, EQ and Volcano
