Does the top metal piece that goes in the end of the piece you need thread in or just push in?

I believe it threads in. The piece that I need is the one that you put the gold plated plate/star and then you screw it with a bolt

I know what piece you need. I need to know if the little metal part closest to the mouthpiece threads into the piece you need or if it just pushes in.
