Where Do I begin ? Need hep deciding on Vaporizer

Hello , New here.

I am new to MJ in a sense that I can go buy my own with my MMJ card. I have taken hits off my one cousins pipe a few time years ago. I also used to smoke some blunts with an ex bf. ( over 10 years ago I never really got high with him, not sure if it was his weed or what ) Recently ( 3 months back) I tried some edibles. I like them but I will make my own once I figure out what strains work best for me. I also hit the pipe a few times ( another cousin ) a few months back.

I prefer not to smoke at all. So this leads me to Vaping. I would like to know what side effects has anyone experience long time vaping ? it sucks that there aren't any studies on Vaping yet to tell us more about it on lungs.

my next question ( yes sorry probably the same question everyone one asks ) Which vaporizer should I get? So what I am looking for is the healthiest vaporizer. I am a bit leery of these portable vaporizers. I do not know which ones deliver a healthy path way for vaping. I do want a portable but I do not mind a small desktop ( I may get one after I test a portable first ) There are 3 vaporizers I am looking at. One is the flowermate pro or the 5.0s. I keeping reading good reviews about it and almost pulled the gun on one tonight. The other two are MFLB and the Lotus. IMO the MFLB and lotus doesn't scare a newbie like me. I kind of like the fact that you know what the pathway is made out of and don't have to worry about toxins leaching. If I get the lotus I was going to get the glass pipe kit. The flowermate 5.0vs is cheaper than all of the ones mentioned and this does appeal to me because I would hate to pay over $100 for something I may not like.

Thanks in advance

I would bite the bullet & get a Solo for a few more $$. I own a FM Pro & it is a great little vape but not as good as an Air or Solo. Nothing wrong with the FM or MFLB but a Solo has almost zero learning curve & is a heavy hitter for what it is. You can also get a lot of different accessories & is just a reliable workhorse.

Is the solo portable ? Sorry I am looking it up and see it is. Thanks

I'm a new member myself, but I have been vaping for 10 years so maybe I can help. Basing your choice on the healthiest vaporizer is an interesting approach, but I'm not sure there are major differences once you rule out obvious health hazards like offgassing and airpaths that run through the electronics. My experience tells me that the major irritation to the lungs is caused by temperature and dryness. The temperature can be dropped with a longer air path or using a bag system; the dryness by using water filtration of some sort. Anyway I think most of us probably purchase for taste or convenience and assume that our vapes are reasonably healthy.
So do I have a recommendation? I'm a Firefly guy for the flavor and FF1s can be had quite reasonably these days, especially used. The early batteries had problems but the new ones are fine. Of course you could get the FF2, but that seems a bit out of your price range. Much of my vaping is done with an old school Steinel heat gun through a whip into a bag. I then do the bag through water, a simple bubbler or a Pinnacle microshower or my MFLB Orbiter. I don't necessarily recommend my setup to a beginner though. A desktop system I've always wanted is the Arizer EQ. They're cheap on Ebay although you may want to upgrade the glass and can be used with a whip, a bag, or even adapted to water filtration. Probably didn't help with your decision, huh? ;)
So the MFLB is a fine little primitive vape. It does have a bit of a learning curve and requires pretty constant fiddling because it's convection. You have to be constantly shaking it to expose new material to the screen. Certainly works especially with a power adaptor, but it's main value now seems to be to show all of us how far we've come. Mine's long retired. Anyway good luck!

You could start out with a portable and eventually get a nice desk top vaporizer too. My vote would be the Arizer Air or the Solo. I think the Solo would be the better of the two. Just personal preference on my part.

Your body will let you know that vaporizing is a far better choice than combusting.

Check out the vaporizers that you are interested in and take the plunge. See the FC sponsors at the bottom of the FC threads. Look on the sponsor pages. They have usually 10% off for FC members. I go with Puffitup and Planetvape a lot.

I've had tremendous luck with Puff It Up. I bought a discounted Solo from PIU, and within a month or so it stopped working. I email PIU, they send me a postage-paid return label so I don't have to pay postage, and they send me a brand-new unit. PIU handles the warranty! The only thing they didn't do was send someone over to package it up and mail it for me.

It is out-of-warranty now, but still is in use!

I went to Puffitup and its priced at $160 so I may not be able to afford that right now. Would it be absolutely my best option at this price ?

Don't know but usually there will be sales on 4-20, so wait a couple of weeks if money is short.
You will save in the long run as you will consume less. My first vape paid for itself in the first month,
then again, I'm no light weight.

Give Randy (Puff it UP) a call or email. Have a couple of prices from Ebay and ask if he will price match. He will work with you and come very close to the best price with the very best service. If you don't need the "free" grinder, he might knock a few bucks off. He will definitely go out of his way to see that you are happy. Of course, don't expect him to price match Chinese knock-off prices. Many of the sellers on eBay are authorized sellers. I personally have had an eBay merchant do a great job of replacing a unit. Postage both ways was on me.....so they are NO Randy

I recommend the Mighty, it's expensive but we'll worth it you will Love it, it seems to be replacing many peoples favorite vapes, and that includes desktop vapes, heck I've heard of people getting rid of their 750$ herbalizer for a second mighty.

Unfortunately, if $160 is out of OP's range, Mighty is way out. I did not like the flavor on the Mighty or the way it hit better than either my Haze or Underdog. I appear to be odd that way.

To the OP (mobile version does not allow me to add quotes when editing a post, sadly):

Both a Haze 2.5 and a Solo are presently being sold used in the FC Classifieds on page one. I had the Haze 2.5 and it was a great vape. And the Solo is supposed to be very good, I see it recommended all the time for first timers. It was on my short list but I got the Haze 2.5.

Won't be disappointed, can use the solo for as long as you need to trawl through FC and decide on another vape you "need". Yet to see anyone be unhappy with the solos performance.

Sorry to be late on this thread....I see you still ordered the Solo!

My choice, if you wouldn't able to afford the Solo, is the X-mas V2/Storm, it's a tasty and powerfull cheap vape with replacable batteries!

Believe it or not puffitup sold out on both. I just went ahead and bought from Aroma tek. Came out to $129 and coming from WA so I do not have to wait long for the post :) ( I have been spoiled by amazon prime , some times I like buying from vendors that are close to my state CA so I don't have to wait forever for shipping lol )

I think you made a good decision. There's an article posted in a few threads about research that was done on several top vapes to see how much residue was left after vaping. The solo scored the best of that group. Also, as someone posted on another thread, the solo stays charged forever when not in use and I think it's the only one that works that way. I hadn't used mine in over a month and got it out to charge it. It worked fine without charging in spite of the delay. The one thing you might consider spending a little extra on when you have the money is a mouthpiece with grooves.
