This suggestion might be good for a Yocan Evolve or even my Puffco Plus attys but I would never suggest a box mod lower than 50W output. If you ever want to run a Divine Tribes Ceramic atty or any dry herb kits or any 510nail kits you may want/need more power. I recall the DTV3 required 35ish Watts for me. And you never want to max out things! Another good fella just said this to me on here the other day!

That's a good point, I didn't know those atty's required higher wattage. I mean I wouldn't ever recommend a mod that low either, but that's also a given because it'd be really hard not to find a mod that would even max out that low. All of the mods in my local shop are all at least 60w nowadays.

I understand the divine tribe atomizers are really popular, but I question whether it can provide a better experience than the yocan, not that the yocan is great, but how good can a portable wax setup get in terms of flavor or efficiency. I've never heard of 510nail though, I'll have to look into them.

As far as dry herb vapes, are there any actual dry herb 510 atomizers out there? That really work well and don't combust? The last time I checked, there weren't, but that may have changed.

The Divine Tribe will give you a much larger hit than the Yocan, simply due to wattage and surface area.

As mentioned by @invertedisdead the DTV3 will provide larger hits and may be a little easier to load and is definetly easier to thoroughly clean since you can take it apart completely. I found flavor to be very close with the two tho.

Also the Divine Tribes gen2 dry herb kit has had some positive results on here. The tubo evic is another dry herb option that is a recent release with outstanding reviews. And not available yet, but the Bohdi or whatever 510 mod that RBT creates will be great!

Also for cheap but great results in the dry herb 510 world, check out the thread Pipes created...search for "the project" or "shitfucker" and you may be amazed.

a lot of us from Reddit like to keep the 3 base screws off the DTv3 so you can take the whole top off to load it. Complete game changer. Matt at DT is looking at making a version with an O-ring at the base.

Now as much as I love the DTv3, I do not like how easy it leaks and since I have to rebuild it to change coils, it can be a pita. So I've ordered a new Ti SAI with the donuts so I can just throw them in an iso bath every few day. It won't be as tasty as the DTv3 but I'll have both so when I really want to taste something, I'll bust out the DTv3. But I think for daily use I'll be switching to the SAI.

The yocan is an uncontrollable beast that runs way too high watts for it's own coils. It's great for convenience but it's not a great daily driver.

That is a great idea about the screws on the DT, gonna have to start doing that myself. I have also been lusting after that titanium sai, which I believe will give a much bigger hit than the DT.

edited to add the DT is also a monumental step up in flavor over my original dabbler and the KISS AC that came before it in my wax pen evolution

I posted about the screw thing on reddit, it really is a game changer. My riphead uncle is a genius. :ko:

I've been using the 10mm recently, less leaking. Not the same performance as the 13mm but the Sai is 10mm too so it's on par with that.

What I do is, since the screws for my housing are already off, it's really just those two screws on the posts to do a donut swap. I keep a shotglass of ISO and a shotglass of distilled water around so I can always have a donut soaking while one is in use. There's no waiting for anything when I want a clean donut. I just swap every few days.

(Sigh) I wish Arizer or Storz & Bickel would just make a simple quality concentrate portable already!

Did you see the concentrate dish I designed in the Solo 2 thread? I think the current Arizer line could be a fantastic concentrate vaporizer. The conduction design is actually perfect for this scenario.

Yeah, man...you should contact Arizer about it! Does 220c get hot enough though? Won't just "melt" it and pool too much?

I really think a grown up company like arizer or S&B should do something though, and I mean more than just a concentrate "pad"

Yeah, that's hot enough. I agree regarding pads, not really a fan of them myself. I was thinking Alumina ceramic for the dish would be nice, though SiC would be ideal I think.

Whats the best wax pen?

The guy at the store tells me puffco but I saw this and couldnt really find anything that came with more. I heard ceramic coils are unhealthy

I have the puffco plus, but recently got recommended the nexus from qloud up. I have to say the nexus is a better pen and cost much less. Highly recommend the nexus. I used a coupon code "new2qloud" got 15% off, hope it works for you too.

My Yocan Hive has sidelined both my DTv3 and 510 Dabado HEnail. Seriously clean, new form factor that really works for any concentrate, but pre-filled cartridges are great to reuse with this device. I ordered some Wax Liquidizer to experiment with refilling these Brass Knuckles and Heavy Hitter tanks.

Far superior to the Seego Conseal and the Swan by S6th.

Interesting. Are you referring to both the Hive's wax coil and the liquid cartridge? The reviews I've seen say the wax coil had an odd taste. But this is an innovative idea.

Also the Swan is variable voltage if I recall correctly. Is the Hive as well?

The Hive's liquid cartridge reportedly leaks. This is confirmed, mine did. The empty Heavy Hitter and Brass Knuckle carts are better than the Yocan tank.
The wax coil works great with shatter, crumble, and budder, but my interest is with high end pre-filled reusable cartridges. The Hive comes with two magnetic connectors that facilitate switching out carts. I could have a sativa cart switched out with a CBD cart, for use during work as needed. The Hive gives me some new options, with the quality of both carts and oil, hard hitting, stealth medicating has never been more clean and discrete.

I know I sound like a fanboi, but I've been rocking this Hive as my DD for couple months and at Chalice this weekend I snagged a Swan for twenty bucks. The cool feature about the Swan was the button and the temp control. The Hive does not have this feature, it may not be essential but the Yocan wax coil could really solidify its versatility from this feature. No doubt the cause of the weird taste in the previous post.
But the build quality of the Swan was plastic, Chinese cheese, it broke within hours, Whatever anchors the contact point to the base malfunctioned. I pulled out a cartridge and the magnetic connector pulled the base out by the wires. Pure garbage with just enough bling to appeal to unsuspecting females. This device couldn't make it out of a shakedown wake and bake session in my bathroom, but my Hive's been field proven for months.

The Swan did have a real cool USB cord, of all things.

I have recently tested the Puff Co Plus, its smooth, yummy and full of clouds! however the Atomizer must be taken great care of.. its fragile and breaks very quickly - if it wasn't for the amazing flavor I wouldn't recommend it but dam best flavor in concentrate pens yet... after researching into I find that the atomizer must never be cleaned with any foreign objects as well as no ISO either. To clean the atomizer simply heat up in sesh mode on the highest setting hold upside down over a paper towel and let the excess oil run out - do this twice and your good to go!

if it helps here is a quick blog I find about the Plus.

There pretty darn close!

Have you tried the liquid capsules in a mighty yet? I've been using them a week or so. So far we're really liking them with rosin. It's probably more of a session deal than a one hitter. You can get way high fast if your not careful. And you can load too much and gunk things up, but you learn fast as to what works.

The hits taste better than any pen I've tried. We (my wife and i) load about two normal nail sized dabs, and sip for about as long as a bowl of herb. We havn't tried popping a capsule out mid session, but I assume you could to save the rest. I have done consecutive capsules with 5 users as well.

Cons are, mighty's only heat up to 410F so there is some left on the mesh, so low efficiency, and using it this hot for a whole session is harder on batteries.

100% agreed. Herb vapes that work with concentrates tend to taste better than vape pens IME. I am strongly of the opinion that the tastiest portable for concentrates is actually likely to be the Firefly 2. The Mighty's problem is that the max temp is just not quite hot enough to finish a small dab quickly, and larger dabs, as you say will end up becoming copious gunk inside the cooling unit. The problem with most electronic portable flower vapes for concentrates is that the max temps are just not hot enough for ideal concentrate use. The time when an ideal portable concentrate vape (read: NOT A PEN) is eagerly awaited by this herbivore. I am disappointed by what is on offer for portable concentrate use at present.

We are getting ever so close tho. Based on the vaping progress in the last few years, the next few years should be exiting. I think pens or and portables will eventually dominate. Well until the next big thing comes along, lol.

I don't see portables totally replacing all plug-in concentrate vapes man. Until something that tastes better than sapphire comes out, I think that pens/portables will be limited to playing second fiddle to e-nails at the high-end of the market. The problem with pens is that they are not always on like an e-nail can be, and heat up too quickly to allow for sapphire vaporization surfaces (due to thermal shock on the sapphire from rapid heat up).

Still, I am sure that portables are going to be released that will be competent for high end concentrate use in the not too distant future. I yearn for that day!

Both of you hombres summed that up pretty impeccably... I use my Supreme v3 exclusively not only for my flower needs, but concentrate also. The Mighty just wouldn't cut it for me especially for extracts, I felt it caused much waste.

The batteries that come with the Puffco is just like any other vape pen battery. It is pretty much useless. The voltage/temp settings are typically too high and they don't last a full day ever. I recommend using the Puffco Plus on a TC battery like I do.

Hi, I'm looking for spec / instructions to use my puffco+ atty on my Pico mod, I don't want to ruin it accidentally but yeah the battery, not so great. Fine for out an about for an evening but not more than that.

You mention Temp Control 60 watts, is this NI? Tips would be greatly appreciated, thank you friend!
